We came down for a final summer vacation before school starts. We parked our little boat in the bay, and spents our days swimming, snorkeling, lobstering and fishing. The property was very clean and the location was excellent.
We decided to come check out Duck key and I found this villa on vrbo. The amenities at the resort community are not part of this villa. Although there is a pool right outside the back of the villa you can not get in. The hawks cay resort has a beautiful pool but it is not part of this villa. It would be nice if one of the pools was accessible. The villa needs new carpeting on the stairs and in the closets and the bedrooms and bathrooms are very small and tight to get around the furniture and the door in the bathroom gets in the way of the sink with the towel rack behind the door. It was fine for the weekend but I wouldnât stay longer than that.
Nice condo , the condo and the property were well kept and clean. Quiet and a nice view .
Well supplied with items.
The furniture was nice too look at but slightly uncomfortable ... would recommend .
The unit was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The views from the back patios were beautiful, just footsteps from the ocean. Very quiet area most days, Saturdayâs the nearby resort had events. Location was great to be able to make trips north and south along the keys. We highly recommend visiting the Islamorada brewing and distillery along with eating at MEAT eatery for their burgers. Thanks Frank for providing a nice place for us to rent!
Very comfortable beds, rooms are a bit tight. The unit is nice and well kept. The property common areas did often have litter ignored by the maintenance crew throughout the week. My wife finally picked up the plastic bag, cup and two water bottles that sat around the grass of the pool area. Nice safe and residential neighborhood feel. Frank is a great Friendly owner and is very responsive. I encourage future guests to reach out to him directly with any questions or concerns, he will take good care of you. Hawks cay is great for boaters and anglers. Is also good for families.
Unfortunately, the porch light did not work along with the stove light and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Sliding porch screen ripped out completely on one side.
These units are privately owned and give you no access to hawks cay resort yet no mention of that when renting!
This unit also had cameras on front and back porch.
Where we being watched?
No pool access although there was a pool behind the townhomes and no grilling was allowed on the property.
The overall property is well maintained, but we showed up a day late due to travel delays and our unit was not cleaned. We requested Beach towels and it took them 2 days to provide. The unit listing suggests that you can accommodate 6 within unit, but there wasn't enough chairs or dishes to handle. During our stay the dishwasher didn't work, the stove wouldn't boil water and the air-conditioning quit. We paid top dollar for a unit that doesn't even have access to the pool. The last an most annoying piece is we had a large family next door that played loud obnoxious music into the early morning. Frank is a nice enough property manager, but I think the unit was oversold via the website. At the very minimum with all of the issues we sustained, I think we deserve a substantial discount for our stay. Definitely not worth the funds we paid.
Guest bathroom tiles are loose and are a tripping hazard. Water leak in Living room ceiling is likely a mold hazard as it has not been addressed. Numerous small nats buzzing around in living spaces causing bug bites. Property Manager only cares about you checking in at 4 pm and checking out at 10 am. Poor run down property for the price owner is charging. Look for another property.
We had a great stay. It was far enough off the beaten path, but close enough to do all the things we wanted to do. The property is clean and the pictures are accurate. The views were awesome!
We rented paddle boards for the week and they were used everyday on either the front access (across the street) or the backyard access. The water looks just like the pictures!
