Skaneateles lake is absolutely beautiful! Views from top of the bluff and the fire pit were awesome! However, the very narrow 75 steps down to the dock and water are annoying at best. Our water piped into the camp had a sulfur smell all week. It was ok, but for money spent we expected more.
Beautiful lake, swimming was outstanding, lovely farmland!
Pleasant cottage, AC was very comfortable. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks, yard games, floating deck and fire pit. Extreme care is needed with steep, narrow lakefront stairs. We loved historic downtown, highly recommend Harriet Tubman Museum in Auburn & Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse. The gravel lane to home was partially washed out, narrow & very steep, needs new gravel, grading & crowning which is responsibility of all homeowners on lane, all or 4-wheel drive is recommended. Beds on the first floor were somewhat soft, new pillows needed in master. Please replace coffee machine ASAP, it takes 32 minutes to brew 6 cups. Zero storage in very small first floor queen bedroom. Suggest multi-hook clothing boards for walls & doors, and wider storage shelves & wall hooks in back foyer area for guests of queen room to use. Side window blind is missing in twin bedroom. Host was to repair previously broken leg on oak table on back porch.
Cottage very clean With all amenities.. had a problem with Wi-Fi first day owner was quick to respond.. Problem was fixed! Would be very careful booking with children under 5 . Stairs going down to lake not kid friendly. With that being said enjoyed our stay on the Lake!
We had a wonderful week at the Skaneateles Lake House. The house was very comfortable, bedding, kitchen equipment, etc. all just what we needed. A beautiful view from the screened porch. There is a long staircase down to the dock. The lake is very clean and great for swimming. We also enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle board. The town of Skaneateles is close by and nice for shopping and enjoying a stroll. Thanks, Albert and Evona!
Great location, nice views, liked the wood burning fireplace and kayaks. The lake was chilly but amazing, so clean. Enjoyed restraunts and shopping downtown, recommend Doug's Famous Fish Fry.
