Perfect for our family stay. Fully equipped beautiful home. Relaxing, bird watching and family board games on the lanai. Snorkeling at gorgeous Manini Beach. Kayaking across Captain Cook Inlet. All in a secluded neighborhood far from the maddening crowds. The whole family loved the Aloha House!
This place has everything you need. Listening to the ocean and kokis at night perfect! Short walk to manini and short drive to 2 step for amazing snorkeling. The house is beautiful and the wrap around deck is great.
Clean and well stocked with necessary items. If you have travelers who have trouble sleeping with outside noises due to the koki frogs and early morning chickens you should plan to have access to a white noise app on your phone. It really helped. Altogether a great place to stay.
Fabulous from top of the lanai morning coffee to warm outdoor shower after snorkeling. Donât have leave this nestled-in paradise in order to have the best getaway ever! Super clean, full of every amenity, even those you didnât know you needed. Hosts were awesome and location couldnât be better. Cant wait to return to this slice of heavenđ
This was I think our favourite trip maybe ever?! Lovely house with the most perfect lanai, 2 minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. At night, youâre lulled to sleep by tree frogs and crashing waves. Buy some freshly picked papayas at the fruit stand right by the beach. 10-15 minute breathtaking drive into town for grocery stores and restaurants. House has everything you could possibly need including snorkel equipment and beach chairs and such welcoming vibes. We didnât want to leave and are already saving up for our next visit! Thank you Beth and Wendy for such a special stay!
This home is exactly what you need if you truly want to share Aloha with your family. A spacious, clean home with ALL the amenities. An out door living room. An outdoor shower(with two indoor ones). The sound of the waves. The sunset thru the trees. An orange and lime tree in the yard for juice. Two SWEET neighboring beaches to in JOY. Comfortable beds. This was the most wonderful place for an Hawaiian Christmas with a family of 5. Wendy and Beth were professional and attentive. This place is a GIFT, true ALOHA. Mahalo Nui Loa
This house and neighborhood offer the perfect opportunity to enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of Hawaiâi. The location is great for a quick jump in the ocean, kayaking, snorkeling, and swimming with the manta rays.
wonderful deck where our group spent most of the time outside of cooking and sleeping. 100 yards to snorkeling and kayaking. away from all the tourists. more of the local vibe.
If you want to truly experience Hawaii this is the place!!! If you love nature, swimming , snorkeling, then you found Paradise!! It was the perfect location to get around the whole island. My wife and 3 kids loved the accommodations and area.
The home was better than anticipated and has nearly everything you need for your stay. Instructions are clear, the communication with owners excellent. It was just a delightful space to be. A bit of a drive out for supplies so planning meals and stocking up helps a lot. On long days adventuring around the Island we just ate out, but we had supplies for breakfasts and snacking and a couple dinners we prepared at the house. A minute away is a little park with a sandy entrance into the bay for some really delightful snorkeling. Just a great time there...
Loved the area and the outdoor space. Living room furniture uncomfortable as were the loft beds. Wendy was very responsive to any problems with the unit and we enjoyed our stay.
The six of us enjoyed the peaceful setting of the Aloha House very much. The close proximity to Manini Beach and to 2-step Beach allowed several members of our group to remain in the area and soak in the beauty of the area.
Wendy was great! She solved any issue that popped up with a big smile and competence.
Thank you for providing us with such a beautiful home to stay in.
Great to walk to kayak rentals on the captain cook cove. House was nice for the family. Huge wrap around deck was perfect for coffee and breakfast. Some things didnât work during our stay but discussed with owner and sheâll be taking care of things.
We've stayed at the Aloha House before, so it was a bit like meeting an old friend. Thanks to Covid though, it's been 10 years since we last stayed! Still one of the best rentals in Napoopoo without a doubt. Recommended!
We stayed 6 nights and found the house exactly as listed. There are 3 access points to the beach, all within a block of the front door. The house had plenty of space for our family of 4. The lanai was divine in the mornings and evenings to enjoy the tropical foliage and sounds of nature. We even liked hearing the frogs, which are shockingly loud and something we do not experience often.
Beautiful house off the beaten path and w/amazing access to Manini park & beach. We loved the house and setting, great for bird watchers, picnic lovers, and ocean watchers. Splendid sunsets w/in easy walking distance and the grounds are lush and feel mostly private.
The surf was too high for beginner snorkelers, but nearby 2 step was perfect.
We celebrated my momâs 80th birthday and she got to snorkel every day. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. We loved the lanai and gardens and outdoor shower. There is a little path straight out to the ocean for sunsets, or just a few yards to Manini Beach for snorkeling. We rented kayaks at the cove for a day and took them out again at sunset. A short drive to 2-step. Such a perfect low-key getaway with family!!
Hidden treasure. Close to the water with excellent snorkeling. About 30 minutes from Kona airport.
Only downside was we had people who got motion sickness from driving up and down the winding roads. We did find a less curvy way to get to the house that took longer but kept the motion sickness at bay.
The Aloha house was very nice and the location was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped and Wendy kindly left some supplies for us. Wendy was very helpful and kind and we could contact her very easily (reply within half an hour). Would recommend to anyone and we will be returning if we stay in Captain Cook again! This was our second stay at the Aloha house it just gets better every time we return. Thank you Beth and Wendy your are the greatest.
Casey and Beth Kirwan, owners. Beth lived in Hawaii for some of grade school. We currently live in Hawaii part time and Sonoma County, CA part time. My father lives in Hawaii and is a coffee and mango farmer on the Big Island.
When we bought the property, it was all over grown with a rusty old car in the middle of the lot. We designed and built the Aloha House specifically as a vacation rental. We wanted to create a home to share that is comfortable for families to use as if it was their own.
The house is situated in a great little neighborhood. It is about a two minute walk to the Pacific Ocean (west of the house) and to Kealakekua Bay (North of the house). The location is a perfect home-base for exploring around the island.
The house is beautiful, with its huge mahogany and glass doors that open up to the large lanai. Yet it is very comfortable. We built and furnished it for durability, so no one has to worry about anything.
