We truly loved our stay at the Olive farm in El Burgo. It is a proper home from home and Callum made everything so easy fo us. He stayed in contact and gave us lots of recommendations on where to go and what to do. It was a lovely quiet, country location surrounded by beautiful hills. The pool was bliss as it was quite hot but thankfully the location had a regular breeze to cool things down. Highly recommend this lovely house and location!
It has so much potential. Well positioned close to Ronda and the coast, great size & views.
However it falls short of delivering on many levels.
Decor is quaint & rustic but due to clutter cannot be appreciated. This is particularly apparent in the kitchen where every cupboard & surface was filled with clutter or food meaning our food needed to be stored on worktops where we had to battle ants.
Appreciate its family owned and therefore belongings inevitable, but one kitchen shelf had food that was up to 10 yrs old & we had to remove ants travelling up the wall to shelf.
Definitely less relaxing to be working around other peopleâs clutter. The main bathroom was similarly cluttered.
Also issues were the wasps and pool.
Wasps getting into the kitchen from the window by the sink & outside eating area unusable due to wasps.
By the pool the wasp situation was awful. Before entering we would scoop 30-40 dead wasps away & repeat several times during day.
We feel we should have been warned about the wasp situation. My wife is allergic so had to be very careful.
Finally the views are stunning yet completely blocked around the pool by ugly ripped netting that did nothing but flap in the wind & block views. No one wants to sit by a pool & look at netting.
The overall result was an overpriced stay dealing with clutter & insects. In fairness the owner was responsive with communication.
A day of declutterring & another removing netting by pool & youâll have a property worth the ÂŁ
Very nice place to stay. Pool was great for all of us but especially the kids. Bit of a trek to the town but quite safe and a good work out. We ate out a few nights and in a few nights too.
Fabulous 8 days at the villa. Everything you could need in this beautiful home.
Very isolated! But just what we wanted!
Amazing views. Good size pool, well maintained throughout our stay.
Owner was extremely helpful, providing all the information that we needed for our stay.
Delightful garden, with olive and almond trees, grape vine and lavendar.
Villa is ideal for family or friends group.
Local village El Burgo, is traditional Spanish with supermarket, butchers, bakers and fruit shop. A few bars and restaurant, but quite limited.
Drive to Ronda takes about 40 minutes along mountain roads, well worth the trip!
Malaga and Marbella 1hr 15 mins away.
