We really enjoyed staying here. The pictures really don't do the property justice. The views are amazing. It is very quiet at night, so getting a good night's rest was easy.
Rachele's home is such a special, precious place. The photos do not truly express how tranquil and beautiful the home is. The views are stunning- it is literally a glass tree house. The furnishings are lovely and very solid- the sofas, the floors, the bathtub, the bed, the kitchen counters- creating not only comfort and nurturing but a true sense of groundedness. There is endless access to hikes and the little town of Fairfax is adorable. Finally, Rachele is a perfect host- accessible, helpful and kind. I hope to be able to stay at this magical sanctuary again some day.
This lovely home is perfect for a couple looking for a longer stay, who appreciates the more graceful things in life: a beautiful setting, the refreshing ambiance of nature, a picturesque view, and the old-world lodge-style home. There are stairs to maneuver to the entrance and the lovely patio/garden area, but the neighborhood is quiet, the people friendly, and everyone is out strolling or walking their dogs.
Rachele, the owner, could not be more gracious and helpful. The pride in her home is obvious, the amenities she offered were so thoughtful, and her artistic background is evident in all the touches within the home and throughout the property. It was a delight staying here!
Beautiful house, inside and out. Amazing attention to detail.
I stayed a month and did not lack a thing.
Able to easily explore Marin County, SF and much of Nor Cal from this base in Fairfax.
My only caveat is for anyone having trouble with stairs. Not in the house but outside.
Otherwise perfect.
Our stay in this beautiful home could not have been more perfect! Every morning we awoke to a peaceful vision of ferns and ivy, then walked out into the living room to take in the gorgeous view of oak trees surrounding us, squirrels running along their branches. It felt like living in nature, only warmer. We were just enchanted! The owner has added all these little magical touches and twinkling lighting effects, so that everywhere you look you will spot a new hidden pleasure.
Rachele, the owner, was so pleasant and helpful and the house was everything and more than pictured, we are looking forward to returning. What a magical and restorative retreat! We loved it!
I am classically trained artist who loves nature. I live in both Fairfax and Truckee California. I have traveled and studied art in Europe. I love cycling, hike and gardening.
After living in Lake Tahoe for 22 years I moved to Marin California because I was always enchanted by the gentle beauty, abundance of flowers, wildlife and love the proximity to San Francisco. The town of Fairfax is a very special place, people walk to town at nights, share fruit from there gardens on the side of the road and cyclist flock to itâs cafes and trails on weekends, and the weather is ideal!
I feel in love with this property immediately with itâs walls of glass, I feel close to nature at all times. I love being able to walk to town and rarely use my car when I am home, well except when I go to the museums, or dinner in the City, or Point Reyes...did I tell you about the cheese at Marin French Cheese Company!
