The Owl House on Broadway – Historic Home with 3 King Bedrooms and 3.5 Baths

The Owl House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe, right on Broadway! This beautiful Victorian home built in 1836 is walking distance to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, museums, shops, trails, and restaurants/bars. Upon entering you will feel the warm and inviting old spirit of a Jim Thorpe Home.

The first floor includes a large living room that has exposed brick with restored original pine wide plank flooring. It also boasts a large Victorian bar and bistro table. French doors lead to the formal dining room featuring a huge eight-foot trestle table with abundant seating. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare meals, has all modern appliances and a stack washer/dryer. Additionally, there is a half bath on this level. The kitchen leads to a back porch and terraced garden. Enjoy cocktails on the rear porch or at the outdoor dining table.

The second level features a spacious master suite with a king-size bed, a comfortable sitting area, and a private bath. The second bedroom also offers a king-size bed and easy access to a full bath on this floor. Front and rear staircases provide convenient access to the upper level.

The third level provides an additional charming suite with a king bed, sitting area, desk, and its own full bath!

With three roomy bedrooms—each with a king-size bed and its own bathroom— this home is perfectly designed for both comfort and privacy.

Off-street parking is adjacent to the home! Three mid-sized vehicles can park in line (nose to tail) in the private driveway!

Outstanding Owl House

A tasteful mix of modern, rustic, and cozy at the beautiful Owl House offering peaceful mornings enjoyed on the back porch surrounded by the views and sounds of nature and walking distance to everything! The owners left us some special treats that make you feel beyond welcome! This will be our only choice when coming back! Thank you Brian and David!!

Absolutely beautiful!

The Owl house was one, if not the best, rental property I've ever stayed in. The owners were easy to work with and they left us wine and snacks which was a nice touch! The house is the perfect blend of old charm and modern conveniences. We were blocks from downtown stores and restaurants and never touched our car the entire weekend. And it was decorated beautifully for the holidays! Wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back!!

Beautiful, Spacious Home in Walking Distance to All!

The Owl house is an absolutely Fantastic Property! It truly delivers on everything and then some! The home itself is in a fantastic location, making it so perfectly walkable to practically everything in Jim Thorpe. And if you haven't been before, you will so appreciate that this home has onsite PARKING as the town gets mobbed! The home was so beyond our expectations - despite the lovely online photos. It is so spacious over the 3 floors, so beautifully decorated, and has every amenity you could want. And with a beautiful outside area too! And to top it off, Brian could not have been a kinder or more responsive host. Would give him 10 stars if I could! He truly wants you to love your stay, the home, and the town, and goes above and beyond to ensure you do. Will definitely return - thank you!!!

Weekend at the Owl House

Had a wonderful weekend stay at the Owl House in Jim Thorpe. This is a more detailed review since they are a newer listing - The location is great- right in the heart of the downtown district- which is great because there is a driveway for off street parking and you can just leave your car there and travel on foot. The house was absolutely charming and well appointed- a great mix of vintage and new. The pictures do not do it justice- it was bigger and more spacious than expected and impeccably clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and serve a meal - plenty of pots/pans/dish ware/spices and basics like cooking oil. There is a instant hot water tap which was great for my tea habit and also a keurig if coffee is more your thing. The living room was spacious and comfy and the Victorian bar was a fave place to mix up our cocktails. My daughter got a kick out of the houses smart features- being able to have Alexa turn the lights on or play music throughout the house was a plus! The master bedroom is its own oasis and a great space to relax after hitting the downtown. The master bath shower has multiple jets and a rain shower - I didn’t want to get out! We didn’t use the 3rd floor but took a peek and it was also cozy and inviting with its own bathroom. The owners were great hosts- they made sure every need was anticipated and met, were very easy to contact and very responsive to questions about best places to eat and things to do. We had a wonderful stay, would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others coming to the area.

This place is amazing. Amazing location. Beautiful home. Everything you could want. We loved everything. Do not hesitate to spoil yourself and rent this home. We stayed for a girls birthday weekend and took the owl house and made it our theme. So much fun!

Incredible place to stay

The Owl House is just a wonderful place to stay. The hosts, David and Brian, are responsive and willing to provide assistance promptly. They provided GF restaurants, good hiking trails, and rafting companies upon request.The house is a historic beauty. It is well-located in the center of town and a quarter mile from the D&L trail and 3.5 miles from March Chunk Lake. So much to do here for an extended weekend.Parking is also available- a bit tight but definitely workable- even with an expedition. Parking is not easy to find- so this is an amazing addition to the unit.It is easy to see how much thought the owners have put into being hosts. Decorating is beautiful, couches and beds comfortable, and every possible need met. The kitchen is well-stocked and an outdoor grill was also available within a beautifully planted patio/backyard area. We loved watching the resident bunny and hummingbird. We truly so appreciated the additional snacks and drinks that were left for us. My daughters appreciated the wine as they toasted to the oldest’s 30th year. To the owners- Brian & David- Keep doing what you’re doing. So nice to feel cared for in a world where that no longer seems the norm. Thank you again!!!

Perfect home, Perfect Location

First time ever to Jim Thorpe PA. The Owl House was totally charming. Just 3 blocks from everything. The hosts were great. Highly responsive. Gave us recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Everything went super smoothly. House was clean and had everything a family would need. Even a little candy in the refrigerator.

Great house in Jim Thorpe

What a great time we had at The Owl House in Jim Thorpe. The house is beautiful and it's also really functional for a group. Unlike other VRBOs we've stayed at, this home was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. And we really felt welcomed... the hosts are great. Highly recommend this beautiful home.

The Owl House

The Owl House superseded expectations significantly. We were looking for a weekend to get away in Jim Thorpe and chose the house based mostly on location. The location was ideal, right on the main strip just feet away from coffee and some great restaurants. What made the trip so special was the house itself. The details and design inside the house are nothing short of perfect. The furniture, decor, vibe...was right on. Not only would I stay again but I wouldn't stay anywhere else but here while visiting. Thank you guys so much.

Owl house was a real hoot!

Our stay at the owl house was one of our best VRBO experiences to date. The house itself is architecturally very unique/cool due to being from the 1800's. They accommodated an early check-in, it was super clean, perfectly decorated for the holidays (Christmas), and the hosts provided a great selection of amenities.The location was excellent for exploring the heart of Jim Thorpe on foot. We will be looking forward to our next reason to return to this spot!

Thanksgiving at the Owl House

My wife and I, two adult daughters and a son-in-law spent the recent Thanksgiving weekend at the Owl House in Jim Thorpe, PA, and had a wonderful time. The booking process was accomplished without complication. In the weeks prior to our arrival our host, Brian, was thoughtfully in touch with us to make sure we would have everything we would need and to provide information about nearby restaurants and attractions. Directions to the house and entry instructions were clear and complete. The Owl House is located on the main street of shops and eateries in Jim Thorpe within easy walking distance of everything, but far enough to be away from most of the tourist hurly-burly and remarkably quiet. A huge plus for the Owl House was having adjacent off-street parking for three vehicles. Otherwise, parking in Jim Thorpe can be problematic to say the least. The house has been lovingly restored and thoughtfully updated. The furnishings, a mix of antiques and more modern pieces, are welcoming and comfortable throughout. The kitchen is well equipped and was supplied with snacks for us. The three bedrooms are all upstairs. Each has its own full, up-to-date bath, and are arranged to provide maximum privacy. The beds, linens and other furnishings were all first rate. We recommend the Owl House unequivocally– for its location and parking, for its comfort and coziness, and for its considerate hosts. And, if it's a rainy day, you can have a contest to see who can count the most owls. Have fun!

Aunt’s 80th Birthday Celebration

First of all, Brian and David are The Best Hosts! They thought of everything: drinks, snacks, wonderful throw blankets to keep us warm out on the beautiful back porch. They were quick to respond when we had questions. Super generous and accommodating and gave the most beautiful gift to my aunt. If you visit Jim Thorpe, stay at the Owl House!

My friend and I stayed at the Owl House for a weekend getaway. We were more than pleased with the accommodations. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. Fall Festival Girls’ Trip

I could tell by the initial contact from Brian when I made the reservation, that this was going to be an exceptional experience. As a host, Brian was super responsive and very generous! There were treats waiting for us upon our arrival. The home is amazing…it was decorated for Halloween and so nice and cozy. It had everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. The location is convenient to everything. I would highly recommend staying at the Owl House! We had a PERFECT girls’ trip!

Beautiful oasis (but close to everything!)

The many 5-star reviews tell the story of The Owl House. It is exactly as pictured and decorated with taste and whimsy. The house has loads of room for everyone—6 can fit comfortably, and each pair has a full bath—and there's a nice mix of inside and outside spaces. The porch is great for morning coffee. Brian and David were wonderful, with hospitality and helpfulness galore. We had evening storms during our stay and lost the backyard lights for an evening, but by the next morning, someone was out to fix them. Having been in Jim Thorpe on the weekend, I now understand how handy it is to have a parking space (or 3). But you'll only need to use your car if you venture farther afield, because you can walk to everything in town. Lots of nice restaurants and great dive bars too, plus, of course, Donerd's. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay than The Owl House. It truly sets the standard for vacation rentals!

A few years ago, we wanted to have a weekend getaway in the Poconos. In our search of where to stay, we stumbled across Jim Thorpe, PA. Coming down Rt 209, heading into town, we were intrigued. As soon as we turned left on Broadway, we knew we were home. That weekend was the start of an adventure that eventually led us to purchasing The Owl House. This is our getaway and we hope it becomes yours.
