Think our little one summed it up when he walked in and said the place was beautiful. The living areas are really nicely done up and the outdoor spaces fab. Highly recommend for anyone.
This home is in the perfect location, is spacious and beautiful and has so much charm and character. The kitchen is well appointed, the rooms are large, multiple patios and space for everyone. We loved exploring Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the surrounding towns from this home base, it was always lovely to come home to, and we walked to dinner every night. We highly recommend and would love to come back one day!
Comfortable house to accomidate us.[4 adults] It was very hot during our stay and the plunge pool was a welcome relief. Spacious, with nice kitchen and outdoor area to eat.
It was the perfect location and a charming home. The kitchen was well equipped for everything we wanted. We are all over 60 so getting to the bedroom on the third floor was a chore but to be expected in such an old European community! Beds were comfortable. As someone else commented, the couches were too low to the ground for folks our age but we just sat at the table when we were home. Overall, I would recommend this location to others!
My family and I (6 total adults) spent two weeks in this amazing house. The house is beautiful, unique and perfectly situated in Chateauneuf du Pape. We spent about half our time exploring the the town on foot, wine tasting, hiking, cycling, and the other half taking day trips to an almost endless number of other cool towns in Provence. So much to see.
The check in process was seamless, and the host is excellent. I would recommend renting a car for at least a portion of your stay, as there are a lot of sights that are best accessed by car.
I will also not that it was hot while we were there, and the air conditioning at the house was up to the task.
We had a great time and built some lasting, family memories. I highly recommend!
Well maintained & supplied home(plenty of bath & kitchen towels, place mats, herbs, 2 French Presses, cappuccino machine...). Indoor & outdoor dining tables. VERY Quiet with a short, smooth walk to the town center. We're 75 and it was easy to walk to the TI, Wine Museum, Vinadea & Les Verges du Pape(fabulous food & view). Half our group walked to the castle & reached it before the other half arrived by car. Stairs to 1 & 2 floors are a bit steep & there are the usual step here & there to accommodate plumbing & power. Plenty of outlets for charging. Where Rue du Reservoir meets Rue Porte Rouge there is no street sign & MAPS says "You're There" when on Prte Rouge.
PEFECT location, donât pass up this wonderful gite!
Our family recently stayed for 5 days in Chalon Sur Soane, This gite is so wonderful, and the perfect location for wine tasting and relaxation.
The unit is SPOTLESS, with comfy beds and linens. The kitchen is packed full of everything you need to cook a family meal. The island is the perfect place for preperation, and the barstools worked well to sit, have a glass of wine and relax.
My husband and I were on the top floor, in the master suite. The bathtub was WONDERFUL, shower clean and spacious and terrace was the perfect place for a glass of wine in the evening. Plus the view of the lights at night was magical!
Our daughters shared the bedroom on the second floor, and really enjoyed their terrace and direct access to the plunge pool.
Our 15 year old son stayed in the âbunk roomâ, and that worked out well for him. If we had multiple children or young adults, this would be the perfect place!
Since our group was only 5 people, we did not use the separate âsuiteâ but we peaked in and it was beautiful!
A special feature is that you will be behind a gated courtyard. So you will have wonderful privacy and it makes it feel extra special!
Communication was perfect, and I even left a nice pice of jewelry! I touched base and let them know and they mailed it back to me in the USA! THANK YOU SO MUCH! đ
I would highly recommend walking to the chateau at the top of the hill, as it is beautiful. Also ther are a few wonderful restaurants in town. And the wine tasing in the area... magnificent!
Donât pass this location up! You will not be disappointed!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. The house is beautiful, open, and somehow modern and cozy all at the same time. It's tucked away in Chateauneuf de Pape and while you may have to park and walk, the walk is breathtaking and relaxing. Never more than a 5 min walk away from anything you want to do. The check in process was easy, the house is incredibly well stocked with dishes, cutlery etc. and was very clean. Honestly couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when we return to Chateauneuf de Pape.
Such a wonderful
Home - we
Loved both the inside and outside areas. Beds were comfy, showers were hot, and the kitchen was stocked with everything! Would definitely return.
My family stayed for 3 nights in November.
The interior of the house and the amenities are well designed and modern. Clean and everything worked. Absolutely loved the wood fireplace.
Finding the place is not straight-forward. Google maps directions aren't accurate. Driving a large vehicle in and out of the courtyard and through the village narrow alleys is challenging. And the carpark nearest the house seems to be full most of the time.
Once you figured out the driving, the house is very pleasant for a big group travelling to CDP.
The house alone, with its modern-medieval look, is worth the stay. But thereâs so much more. Everything is nearby. Small grocers are a few minutes away, the Super U grocer is a 10 minute walk, wineries are walking & biking distance, dozens of restaurants, bakeries, & boutique shops waiting to be found in maze of cobblestone. Of course, the ruins of the old popeâs chateau is just behind the home. The climb is beautiful, and the vista at the top priceless with views of the Alps (that you can also see from the homeâs top-floor room by the way). You can also park your car here at the popeâs castle parking lot if the closer, lower lot is full. Do not try parking a minibus in the homeâs courtyard space. Trust me, you will have the challenge of a lifetime getting it out of the alley. Besides, the courtyard is a charming gathering space where we barbecued using the gas grill and spent evenings unwinding watching the kids play. Itâs a very kid-friendly home thanks to the owner and his mother & brother, who are around if you need help. We were provided with a crib, baby monitors, & high chair for the little one and board games and the plunge pool for the grade schoolers. Canât thank them enough for their thoughtfulness. While mountains, beaches, & Roman ruins are within a hour of the home, which we easily visited, we found ourselves perfectly content to explore this lovely hamlet, itâs winding roads, itâs historic landmarks. Iâm smitten with this place and this home.
The property has been restored to high standards and provides many spaces for privacy or gathering on a small footprint. Only recommendation would be to replace the two sofas in the living room and replace the broken wicker chair.
Beautiful home in a lovely, small village. Close to the center of town and everything is walkable. Parking is challenging even in the public parking areas. Our 2 criticisms are: old, thin towels in bathrooms should be replaced and the furniture in the living area is conpletely unusable. Too soft and low to the ground and the wicker chairs are not safe. A nice sofa and chair would improve this home tremendously.
We had a great stay made all the better by the lovely warm weather in early April. We stayed with our 2 grown up daughters and their partners in the 3 double rooms. There is another room with 3 bunk beds which makes this a great place for 2 families with their children.
The house has everything you need to make the holiday work well.
The only issue is parking in CNDP is not easy and we stayed on the wine festival weekend when car parking was at a premium and it was a long walk when dragging the cases!
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and would definitely do so again.
The house was really beautiful. It is an old house that has been very well updated . The accommodation is spacious, very well equipped kitchen, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. It is very peaceful and secure behind its own gates. Chateauneuf du Pape is a lovely small village.
It has several good restaurants a few minutes walk from the house as well as a great boulangerie, butcher and grocery. We explored the region well and then found it a perfect house and village to return to. I would highly recommend it.
Guillaume and his parents were great hosts. The house is amazing with modern kitchen and bathrooms but the charm of an old stone house. The town is close to many sites in Provence and of course terrific wines. We very much enjoyed our stay.
It lived up to all our expectations and more. A little difficult to find, check out google earth before you go. Lots of wine tasting and good restaurants in town. Avignon is close and if you are there from mid to late June the lavender route is a must, We were too early! Thank you Guillaume for a terrific holiday.
Absolutely beautiful home that is extremely well equipped.
This fabulous home is situated in a beautiful village. It's easy to walk around the village, enjoy the shops and restaurants. Good location for doing day trips throughout the area. This was a dream vacation for family and friends. Thank you to Guillaume, Jacqueline and Morris!
This property encompassed all the things I love. It's a superbly renovated old village house with contemporary architectural interiors. It also features a very private courtyard and plunge pool. The village itself is a great place to experience the true Provence, it is full of character and has not been spoiled by too much tourism. It also produces one of France's best wine. The village surroundings offers lots of nature base activities and are also some of the most picturesque landscapes in the country. Both sea and mountain are less than 2 hours away. The proximity of medium and large cities like Avignon, Arles, Marseille, Nimes or Orange is also a big plus when it comes to culture and entertainment.
It's rare to have so much privacy and be inside an old village. The plunge pool and multiple terraces allows guests to have their quiet time sunbathing or reading.
