Be captivated by spellbinding views, right from where you're seated. In the winter and fall, you can see a panoramic view of Lake Chatuge. In Spring and Summer, your view of the lake continues to be breathtaking and expansive.

Charming Beaver is nestled in a quaint dog-friendly neighborhood where walking (or waddling) is a part of every day. So relax in the soft plush beds, catch the sun rising over the lake, read a book on the stone patio by the outdoor fireplace, swing on the screened-in porch, soak in the hot tub, play ping pong in the rec room or just catch a show on any of the many smart TVs. These busy beavers have truly thought of every detail to provide you with relaxation and a remarkably outstanding experience.

THE GEORGIA MOUNTAINS
If you are eager to be as active as Julius Beaver, this cottage, the town of Hiawassee and the surrounding areas are an outdoor person's (or beaver's) dream. From hiking, canoeing, boating or playing pickleball, Justin Beaver, knaws the perfect activity for you and even offers concierge service. You will enjoy a small town without giving up your favorite fast food chains or coffee places (Hiawassee has Dunkin and Starbucks!). And Hiawassee has the best dam barbecue in the area.

* Gravel Parking. Paved road to get to cabin. Less than 5 miles to Hiawassee off of Sunnyside Road. We do not have access to the lake from this property but there is public access within 5 minutes.

Stay in Hiawassee

The house was very well cared for and the amenities were exceptional. Enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful porch view. The door code did not work when we arrived but we were able to contact the owner and she quickly rectified the problem.

Absolutely Perfect!

The location was convenient to the lake and Helen, GA. The view was breathtaking and I love sitting in the evening rocking on the back porch watching the sunset. I bet the view is even more beautiful in the fall! The owners thought of everything to make it an enjoyable trip. If I had just showed up with just the clothes on my back I would have still had everything I needed. I truly hope people don't take advantage of the owner's kindness and consideration keeping the house stocked with everything you need. The owners responded in a timely manner and answered our questions without an attitude. It was clear they wanted us to enjoy our time and the area. This was my first time using a Green Egg grill and I'm sold. We barbecued, talked and shared a beer in the backyard and no bugs bothered us or mosquitos. The hot tub was an added touch along with the game room. The bedrooms were roomy, the bed were comfortable and I loved having a TV in my room. Additionally the Internet worked well for streaming. I could go on and on. I definitely plan on coming back and for sure this is my new home away from home.

Hot tub not working

I texted the property manager twice to no avail. The hot tub didnt work. It was the only amenity I required when looking for a cabin for Thanksgiving week.

We had a wonderful couples weekend, we only left one day to visit some vineyards but the rest of the time stayed right there! Had a beautiful view and lots of laughs! Highy recommend!!💯

Cozy fall stay; Bring your own firewood

Great stay! Perfect views of the mountains and Lake Chatuge. Screened porch with swing and rockers was where we started and ended our days. Very comfy and super clean property. Plenty of space for our group of four. Only complaint(s): hot tub didn’t seem to be working properly (did not get hot; only lukewarm); no instructions for how to use outdoor porch speakers; would’ve been a nice touch to have some complimentary fire wood since there are two fire places/pit. Overall, it was wonderful, and we will be back.

Great place, great view

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was very comfortable and cozy, and the beds were amazing. The outdoor view and the screened in porch are phenomenal. Good value for the money. Easy access, and not that far away from everything.

A view of lake chatuge from a pleasant house.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent 17 days in this rental overlooking lake chatuge in hiawassee. The property is an older home but well maintained. Ac/heat worked well. Screened patio was excellent with rockers and chairs. Spa had a problem but management got it working. Biggest issue was the LR TV; it’s driven by a firestick working off wif-fi instead of a direct CAT5 cable and was very buggy, slow, and badly out of sync as far as both audio and closed captioning. The parking area required manipulating difficult steps leading to very precarious stepping stones. Very difficult to reach the front door with suitcases, groceries etc. not recommended for seniors due to those issues.

Weekend with friends

The hot tub was cold for a few hours on day one but eventually got hot. The porches and view were amazing! The outdoor fireplace was so nice. Loved the porch swing and rocking chairs. House keeping left a dirty towel on the back of one bathroom door upon our arrival and there was toothpaste dried on the front of a cabinet. The house itself was a perfect place for a weekend with friends.

Vacay with friends

Nice home in quaint community. House was clean but could use a deep cleaning and update decor. Screen porch is super nice and roomy. Outside fireplace was so very nice but if you have any issues with stairs or un level ground this is not your place to stay. Fully stocked kitchen and lots of good board games, and even ping pong in basement. We texted owner about early arrival and they never responded. Close to town but private. Outside landscaping needs attention.

Amazing Lake and Mountain views!

Fantastic property overlooking Lake Chatuge and the surrounding Appalachian mountains. The house was amply supplied with everything you would need for a relaxing getaway. We loved using the hot tub and greatly enjoyed the small town charm of Hiawassee. Thank you for letting us experience this little slice of Heaven!

Great place for the family!

This rental home was perfect for our family of 6. The views were amazing, and we enjoyed our time on the porch. The hot tub was very clean. We made use of the outside fireplace and made smores. The kitchen was very well stocked and the fridge was huge! We loved playing ping pong and just hanging out. The drive in is not bad and not too steep that it makes you uncomfortable. Everyone we met in the neighborhood was very friendly. The stairs and walkway into the home is a little tricky for someone with bad knees but I held onto my husband's hand and was fine. The floor squeaks and creaks so we made sure the younger crew stayed downstairs so they wouldn't disturb us. Its a beautiful home and an incredible area, so don't hesitate to stay here! We felt right at home!

Great View

It was great to see the sunrise each morning with vivid colors. The outside area was great with a fire in the fireplace. Also, inside was a great fireplace that we stayed up late talking and enjoying food. The place made us feel very comfortable and cozy with room to spread out into separate rooms at night.

Very nice stay for girlfriends long weekend

A very comfortable, well equipped home. We loved the outdoor fire place, the hot tub, the screened porch. Great location for wineries, shopping, hiking. It was perfect for our annual getaway.

Edith and Julius Beaver have been living on Lake Chatuge their whole lives. Edith's great great grandfather helped build the dam that formed Lake Chatuge so you could say that they began it all.

After many years of renting beaver lodges, the Beaver family is acting on the comments in their guest logs. Charming Beaver is their first accommodation on dry land. Edith and Julius Beaver along with their son Justin meticulously designed this 3 BR/3 BA cottage overlooking their previous home on Lake Chatuge.

Their favorite part is that being at a higher altitude than the dam they built long ago, offers panoramic views of the North GA Mountains and the town of Hiawassee.

**** These dam beavers are of course fictitious. Tom and Tina who really own the property have created a full-service experience with Charming Beaver including the mystical beaver family who started it all.

Our quaint neighborhood is friendly to dogs and beavers alike. Just take a stroll and you will be enchanted. Many rentals in Hiawassee are hard to get to (steep roads, bad paving, high up on a slope, steep parking, or just plain hard to find). Charming Beaver is easy to locate, nestled in a friendly neighborhood with lots of friendly full time residents who cannot wait to make your acquaintance.

One thousand beavers! No, really, we have a thousand beaver movie poster somewhere and probably hundreds of beavers decorating the place, all in good fun. We hope you enjoy our sense of humor as much as we enjoyed creating the beaver family that are your hosts throughout this experience. In addition to our unique decor, this property is also a gem with its majestic views of lake Chatuge and the GA mountains. We love the layout of the house and the comfort of the beds.
