Awesome place !! You get the whole rustic cabin feel but with an updated cleanliness to it !! Perfect location ! Really quiet neighborhood and the spa was just what we needed !! Definitely would stay here again !! Oh and the pups loved it to !!
Normuk Home was perfect for our family and dog. It was in a quiet neighborhood and a short distance to downtown S. Lake Tahoe. The house was well stocked, clean, comfortable, and we had a great time!
It took a few minutes to drive from downtown South Lake Tahoe but we appreciated the quiet, woodsy setting. The house was comfortable and clean. We used the gas fireplace every morning to take the chill out of the house which worked great. The hot tub was also nice to have. We would recommend this place to anyone.
- Perfectly appointed with all supplies and extra touches.
- Seamless check-in and check-out guidelines.
- Very clean and property stayed very warm in cold weather.
- Beautiful location on a corner lot - easy access on a quiet street.
- Unexpected surprise was the holiday decorations. :)
- We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed it tremendously!
It was relaxing and quiet. Itâs a good location if you want out of the town hustle and bustle.
The place is getting a bit dated but the appliances all worked except the AC.
Luckily, the windows provided plenty of breeze and the house stayed cool enough with all the blinds closed.
Inside was very good but the approach was really bad. The concrete approach to the steps was terrible. Trying to walk was almost impossible. Going from the bad blacktop to the dirt to the concrete was treacherous. Should be fixed.
We had record snowfall for Xmas and the rest of our stay. The cabin was accommodating even with the loss of power. The gas fireplace, stove and lanterns made it fun.
The size of the property was perfect for a small family and dog. The cabin had everything we needed for the short weekend stay in a quiet neighborhood. The hot tub was nice, but recommend a lift attached to the cover for removal. We enjoyed our stay and would come back in the future.
Pros: Great location, perfect house to bring your dogs along, kitchen is well equipped, and nice family room and deck area.
Cons: Master bedroom floors/rugs were dirty and it looked like the shower had not been cleaned, but we didnât need to use that room since the 2nd bedroom had a king sized bed, so it was not a huge problem for us. Also, the jacuzzi was not warm enough when we tried to use it the first night, so we didnât end up using it.
Overall, a cozy house in a private location and quiet neighborhood away from heavy crowds and traffic.
We had a great stay at this property. It was a really cute place and had lovely views. We enjoyed the fenced in yard and it made for a great place for the kids to safely play in the snow.
That said, when we arrived the property had not been cleaned. The beds were not made. The people who stayed there before us had also left dog poo in two places outside that we had to clean up. The management company sent a team to clean the place ASAP but this meant we had to stay outside in 28 degree weather while they did it because of Covid concern. It really kicked off our trip on a sour note but otherwise no complaints. Would stay here again assuming the cleaning crew miscommunication was a one time issue.
(9/4/20 through 9/6/20). Tahoe was beautiful, our friends great, the property was okay; not quite up to expectations.
1) General
- Enjoyed the view, quiet and daylight throughout property, beds (support), microwave, refrigerator, silverware, glasses, and portable fans for the heat (Day of arrival was unusually hot; it took a while to figure there was no A/C).
- Could not appreciate the closeness of the hot tub to the street or the open view from the street to hot tub --from the online pictures at the time of reservation.
- Hot tub did not work on the first evening (we were looking forward to use it after a long drive). It was fixed around noon, next day.
Property manager was responsive via text --the first evening he directed us to re-set the circuit breakers in the house and for the hot tub. Efforts were not successful. We were offered compensation for lost amenities.
- Barbecue grill (outside the house) and the deck area around it were unclean. Two available propane tanks were about empty.
- Could not access regular Netflix programing/films in the TVs in the living room or bedrooms (only previews and such).
- A few cobwebs and some dust, including in the windows and window sills.
2) Safety.
- Steel bar remnants protruding vertically from the cement wall at the right of the entry driveway, next to the hot tub are, in our opinion, a hazard.
- Entering the hot tub from the deck (outside) is, in our opinion, unsafe --deck floor level is higher than the hot tub and there is an opening of space between the deck and hot tub.
- Could not notice a warning sign for the circuit breaker next to the hot tub (water + 220v).
3) A Little Love
- Welcoming letter detailed warnings. Would have appreciated emphasis in welcoming guests. Information about the operation of house equipment (TV/Netflix, A/C, washer/dryer, dishwasher, hot tub, barbecue) would have been very helpful.
