L'Aigrette est une belle et récemment rénovée, plage chic, chalet d'une chambre côtière avec deux lits queen. Tous nos chalets sont fraîchement peints et ont de nouveaux planchers de tuiles de planches, et disposent de tous les nouveaux meubles pour rendre votre séjour parfait. Entrez dans le chalet à travers votre véranda privée avec une table et quatre chaises et entrez dans le chalet ouvert et charmant Egret. Ici, vous trouverez un espace de vie et de cuisine combiné qui est spacieux et pittoresque et a tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour un séjour relaxant et reposant. Le chalet Egret surplombe le terrain des chalets Pervenche vous donnant la possibilité de voir la faune magnifique et le charme des chalets. Tous nos chalets ont des touches réfléchies et uniques partout, de l'éclairage à l'art côtier sur les murs. C'est un grand chalet pour découvrir le charme du "vieux Sanibel". La plage est à quelques pas sans avoir à traverser de rues. Découvrez des couchers de soleil comme jamais auparavant et explorez les plus beaux coquillages du monde! Hi Patty, we do leave a travel size soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower get and body lotion in each bath with a starter kit of toilet paper ( 2 rolls per bath ) paper towels, garbage bag, dish soap small sponge, and laundry detergent pods. the laundry facility is coin operated and around the corner from your cottage :)

So much fun and relaxing

This was an amazing trip. Tons of shells and no one on the beach in front of our house ! So secluded we loved it . Loads of birds and shells it was truly paradise!

Very clean, easy access, good location and amenities, beautiful yard, great parking. I do agree with others who stated access to private beach not explained. Mirror on bathroom too high and does need a shelf or somewhere to store items. Would book again.

The sink in the bathroom was plugged from day 1, and the whole place smelled like sewage. At night, the light motion sensors kept turning on, did not let us sleep. Save your money and stay at a nice hotel in fort myers for half the cost and drive across.

Cute place. Connected to other properties. Has own screened in porch. Miniature kitchen sufficient for making snacks but definitely not meal prep. Cabin built for super tall people (and I’m 5-7”), the mirror in the bathroom, the kitchen cabinets etc lol. Could have used an stool. Arrived from a day of traveling with 1/2 a roll of toilet paper. Everything was closed and found a gas station on the island to buy some to get through the night. Asked property owner where more TP was. They said they don’t supply, which is completely absurd. (They did drop off a roll 24 hours later). Cabin is a 10 minute walk to the beach down a residential road and then lots of sand until waters edge. They have super cute bikes that you can ride there or you can drive down the road to where the sand begins. I’ve stayed a lot of places and the lack of amenities here is pretty astounding. (1 towels per person, 1 garbage bag, 1/4 of a sponge). But loved the bikes, and they had a wagon and chairs to use too, Which was great. We love Sanibel.

This little cottage was so cute. It was perfect for us. Very clean, the sheets, blankets and towels looked clean and white. We would def stay here again. Just a warning to other guest... i walked out barefoot on the steps with wet bathing suit and steps were slippery and fell very very hard. Im very lucky i didnt break some ribs and my elbow because of how i landed. No fault of anyones. But be sure to wear shoes and hold on to railing. I was very lucky. That could of ruined my vacation and been alot worse. Do not mistake this comment for a bad review. Just a warning because i don't want anyone to get hurt.

Anniversary Getaway

Our first trip to Sanibel Island did not disappoint. Periwinkle Cottage #4 Egret was PERFECT! From the time of booking, management was very informative of procedure, rules, things to do, everything we needed up front. They texted when our unit was ready, so the early check in was much appreciated. Very clean and perfect size for us. Everything stated on the website was provided. Having the private beach and parking pass was fabulous. We literally had the beach to ourselves! We loved that the cottages are in a neighborhood and easy walk to the beach for sunsets. Beautifully landscaped. Bikes available and nature preserve just down the street for great ride. All our meals on Sanibel were excellent and having Jerry's grocery available was a plus. Still lots of devastation from hurricanes, but so much is open and ready for visitors. I highly recommend Periwinkle Cottages for your stay. We will be back!

Quaint and convenient

Such a relaxing and magical place to visit!! We enjoyed that we were in a neighborhood setting, with friendly neighbors. The cottage was immaculate! The maintenance guy stopped by for a routine maintenance and addressed some very minor concerns which weren’t negatively impacting our stay but definitely made our stay better!! We had easy access to the beach and nice beach amenities were provided for us to use during our stay. Before our arrival we sent two different emails (one through HomeAway and the other in response to our check in email) and did not receive a response. However once we arrived, multiple text messages were sent back and forth. I’m glad that upon arrival the communication was much better! This is alligator territory and while we didn’t see any alligators, two different neighbors did warn us that they frequent the cottage area and surrounding neighborhood. I would have preferred to hear about this as a part of the check in information and have some alligator safety tips provided, just like was done for the “no-see-ums.”

Hello Julie, Thank you for your review! Our cell phones and 800 number and email addresses are always provided at the time of reservation. Often times it is hard to communicate through our booking platforms which is why we reach out to our guests directly. We are always in constant contact with guests!! We apologize that you did not see the large sign regarding the alligators in two areas on the property. We are happy to hear you had a great stay!

Short Stay on the way to the Keys

Great unit that had everything you need- beach chairs, umbrellas, small cooler and everything needed for shelling plus a wagon to haul It in the short walk to the beach. Bikes were an added bonus! Great location! Would stay here again!!!!

Cute & cosy cottage perfect for a few days of solo R&R

The cottage was immaculately clean when I arrived. Very nicely newly renovated throughout. I loved having beach chairs and umbrellas available on the screened porch and numerous bikes parked right outside the cottages. And the mini cooler was great too, to take to the beach. You can leave your beach stuff in the corral along the beach path so you don't have to drag it down there every day; or you can drive and park using the parking pass provided. The beach is easy access and close (~7 min walk or 2 min bike ride) and very clean and not crowded. Working with Kim at Breakaway was great -- very responsive when it came to rebooking a year ago when I had to cancel my trip due to COVID and handling payments. There were a few lingering maintenance issues that an earlier reviewer noted - slow draining tub, missing towel rack in bathroom, and inoperative overbed light--but these weren't major issues for me. And a light on the screened in porch ceiling fan would have been nice as I couldn't use it after dark (other cottages had a light). One head's up though for future potential guests: the cottage is right next to consistently busy main road so you will hear traffic pretty much all the time when sitting outside on the porch. Not a huge issue for me as I live in a big city but those looking for complete silence take note.

Great location and private beach was great. Needs a walk thru by owner, closet lights and bedroom reading lights didn’t work, no wine corkscrew and only one wine glass in cabinet. Coffee maker but no coffee. Towel rack in bathroom broken and missing. Front large burner on stove not working. For what we paid these kinds of things should be working. VRBO is a rip off with all its fees, better to book direct if possible. Overall was good thx to the beach and bikes on sight.

Anniversary trip

This property was amazing. Close access to the beach. We enjoyed riding the bikes everyday. The bike ride was wonderful through the JN Ding Darling Refuge area. We saw a variety of birds, Dolphins, an iguana and turtles. Shelling was great. Hopefully, we will be back.

The online pictures provide an accurate description of property. Very quaint and charming.

Renting was easy. Bathtub drain.need to.be serviced very slow draining. Only provided 1qty face towl. Everything else was perfect.

Amazing !!

Great place to stay, loved the little cottage feel, has everything you need inside, great location... so close to an awesome private beach! my son (8) was very happy with the 3 wheeled bikes because he was able to ride them.. we took them down to the beach a few times, it was very private and peaceful and we found some really nice shells, look for bunnies on your walk down the path to the beach ! The weather was not great so maybe that’s why there weren’t so many people but it was a really nice beach either way! From check in to check out it was a great experience, we received a text when the room was ready and after we left we realized My son forgot his stuffed animal he sleeps with so I sent a quick text and they responded right away and found it and we were able to pick it up the next day at the property main office! Everyone was so nice, we will definitely book again ! <3

Sanibel Island Retreat

Kim was very helpful and accommodating. We did however experience problems with electricity, not having power to tv or the screened in porch. They provided an extension cord for the tv. However one side of living room had no light. An electrician never showed up. No water available at shell washing station. I do not like writing negative reviews—location was everything. We would like to return but did not like having the basics.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry to hear your dissatisfaction. We did send maintenance out the day you informed us of an issue and the electric issue was resolved. I am so sorry that you experienced no water at shelling station, you just have to turn the valve to the right to get water, it was there the whole time and we would have happily walked you through how to turn on, or our cleaners could have showed you as they are present daily. We enjoyed our stay last week at Periwinkle Cottages. It's a great way to have a socially distanced vacation. The neighborhood was quiet, the beach is right down the street and they provide wagons, chairs and beach umbrellas for guests' use. They also have plenty of bicycles to explore the area. The cottage was cute, comfortable and clean. It is updated but still was built in the 1950s so some features like the windows are original. I would return to this location in the future
