Not a good place

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Awful. Inside waa cramped and dark. While inside was clean porch was dingy. No vegation in backyard...furniture was mildewed and there was a huge hole by one chair that could have resulted in bad accident. We left a day early. Could not stand one more day.

October in Port A!

We had a wonderful fall getaway to Port A. The cottage was just perfect. Clean and really cute! I loved the French Country decor. The outdoor area was great for relaxing and for our dog to run around in. Totally recommend this cottage and hope to stay here again!

Cute little abode

This place was perfect. Very private and comfortable with everything you need. I felt very safe here as well. My dog loved the screened in patio and yard. So did I! Lol. Highly recommend this place and it may be my go to from now on when I visit port a. Favorite place I’ve stayed on the island so far…and I’ve been coming for the last 30yrs.

Sweet Little Gem!

Space too small

The place is fine for just 2 adults. It is too small for 4 adults and a pet. There was no space to walk around. The property should be advertised for 2 adults. And even though pet is welcome, my pet was confused and restless.

NOT A COTTAGE AT ALL AND NOT A GOOD VACATION RENTAL!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First I want to say that this cottage was not a cottage feel at all. We got inside this rental and were inside a garage instead of a rental. This rental was very small for three people. We found spiders everywhere. Also the french doors were not very secure. The table wobbled a lot. The bathrooom was very small as well. we do not recommend this place for a rental.

Amazing Private Bungalow

We loved our stay! It was minutes (1-3) from everything the island had to offer; beach, stores, and restaurants. The house itself was very clean. And had lots of things that helped make the stay more enjoyable. Specifically, in the kitchen there's pots and pans, silverware, plates, bowls, salt and pepper, pam cooking spray, coffee pot, coffee filters, dish soap, sponge and various cooking items such a spatulas, a can opener, knives, etc. There were travel shampoo, lotion and conditioner in the bathroom. And lots of towels available. The covered porch was adorable. It had two chairs and a table to relax as well as a small round table with two chairs that were more of a breakfast nook setup. We also loved the backyard. We have a pyrenees mix and this is the first trip he's been on with us. I was worried the backyard would be open and he would do his normal pyr bark, but the fence was extremely tall (maybe 7 ft) so there was so much privacy and he was fine outside (except when he heard someone :) ). We really loves our stay and will definitely come back!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I am a property manager. I know the business. Problems happen. Having said that, the property manager walked off in mid-sentence as I was explaining there was no heat and it was 41 degrees in the unit.The property management company should have checked the heat before check in. They blamed it on the owner. I do not recomend Port A Escapes.

Had some pros and cons

Pros: short walk to the beach and drive-on access. Dog friendly-we stayed with our 2 dogs. Fenced in yard. Affordable. Kitchen was well stocked with enough to make breakfast, knife to cut a watermelon and Tupperware to store it. Very small unit but still doable for short weekend. Cons: sleep was uncomfortable due to ac unit never feeling cool enough. Felt like there was sand in the bed immediately after getting into them, even after knocking the sand off my feet from the floors. Laundry facility had roaches all in it and we didn't even know where it was located at first. Water pressure in kitchen sink was probably less than 50%. Shower head had water coming out of all the cracks and seemed as if it were going to pop out of the wall if you weren't careful adjusting. Our check in was at 4. We got the keys at 3:55, got to the unit right after 4 and maid service was still there so we had to wait to get in. Baseboards, fans, AC vents all covered in dust. Don't recommend for longer than a 2 night stay. We were just thankful to find a place on July4th weekend that was dog friendly, closer to the water, and affordable.

Anywhere that lets us bring our three dogs deserves 5 stars and the outside shower took the show after a long sandy day at the beach!.. Everyone got baths and soaked up the sun the rest of the afternoon in the private fully fenced back yard. I always search for a rental that’s more pet friendly so we can all enjoy our trips the most I would definitely stay here again. Affordable, private, very pet friendly.

No mention of pet fee on VRBO site. Had to go to website for pet fee not mentioned on VRBO site. Place and stay was good. Kitchen and some dishes were not clean. Bathroom is a little small. Great location.

Private Location Close To Everything

Reviewer Comments: This property was perfect for a private little get away - Centralized location made going anywhere on the island a breeze, the space itself was perfect for a couple, toddler and small pet. Le petite Cheateu had a lot of charm and was the ideal home base after a hot day at the beach. There were a couple things to note, but did not hinder our stay or trip - The kitchenware has been better days so maybe pack some essentials if you plan on cooking - The grill was not working and has a smell, however, the property management offered to bring a replacement to remedy which was appreciated. And while the shower worked, hot water and all, the shower head was not attached to the wall and didnt allow for the detachable head to hang properly. Again, none of these items hindered our trip, we still enjoyed ourselves and would return.

This place was adorable and quaint!

Perfect little cottage for a weekend getaway with husband & my fur babies! I think the outdoor private shower was my favorite cause it had long lasting hot water! The yard was safe and secure for my pets. We all felt safe and comfortable. The sunroom/screened in porch was my 2nd favorite but next time I will bring a fan for air flow. Communication with host 5 ⭐️

Great efficiency

The efficiency has a cottage feel - but is attached to a small house. It has a separate driveway. It is in a great location close to all the attractions of old Port A from food to beach to shops. I had no issues and can recommend the accommodation.
