Our experience in Maui was amazing, in big part thanks to our amazing unit and property manager. She was with me every step of the way, from before our trip started to make sure we are getting our tests done, to just before we took off from the flight to see if there are any COVID-related changes needed to be done, to checking on us when we landed, to taking care of special requests (like combining the beds in the guest bedroom), to getting our unit cool with the unit A/C before we even arrived, to immediately fixing any issues we encountered at the unit (like our internet wasn't fast enough, which she got resolved by sending an internet guy, and fixing an issue where some lamps were not working), to allowing us to extend our stay. She was readily available over the phone and text.
This unit has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a lanai. The view from the living room and the lanai is amazing, and is now my virtual zoom background (it was my actual background during my work meetings ofcourse!) One of the epic things about the unit is that there is a beach shower within steps of this ground-floor unit, which means that whenever we come back from the ocean, we can easily make sure we clean our swim suits, snorkels, etc. and then easily bring them to the lanai for drying in the sun. And trust me, this will happen a lot, because it just so happens that this unit is right in front of a pretty decent snorkeling location with plenty of fish and corals. Also, just a little bit off to the side of the unit is a beach (you cannot see the beach from the living room, so you can't watch your kids play, but you can see the beach from the Lanai). The beach gets plenty of waves on windy days, enough for some basic body boarding (the unit contains 2 body boards for our use). Lots of families and kids will be found at the beach in the day time. The beach is very very long, about as far as the eye can see! We didn't see any turtles on this beach (although we did see many at other beaches on the East side of the island).
This unit is in a central location on the West side of the island (unlike many other tourist places like Lahaina which is on a corner), so this location allows for easy driving both up to Lahaina and down south towards turtle beach but also straight East to the main town that has Costco etc..
TIPS: Best snorkeling: Ahina Cove. Best Scuba: Mala Wharf. Go 2 the Hana Lava Tube, and stop @ every waterfall on the way. See Halaekala volcano sunrise!
