This house is in a gated community with Million dollar views! There is Easy access to the private beach via lots of stairs on the property. Or you can drive down the road to the very well maintained beach. We also enjoyed the amazing sunsets every night. The beds were comfortable and the living room had a nice sized tv. The stonework in and out of the house was unique and quite impressive! We also enjoyed the private outdoor shower and hot tub.
Conversely, the house was not as clean as we would have liked. And the kitchen was very dated with an old, electric cooktop and oven. Unfortunately, we were also not able to use the third bedroom during the time we needed it due to weather related flooding in the basement. (But the owner was very responsive in trying to resolve the issue.) Please note: this basement bedroom is only accessible from outside of the house.
This is the second summer I've spent a month at this house. It is so safe and peaceful. I lock the front door at night and leave the rest of the doors open with the screens to let the ocean breeze blow. There's a person at the gatehouse 24 hrs/day so there's already high security in this community. The views of the ocean from all the living areas and the primary bedroom and the deck are full-on; you see the majesty of the Pacific all before you. It was so relaxing and the kitchen is well-equipped, I really didn't want to go anywhere. But there is a lot to see and do in the area. I was at the house during the predicted hurricane in California (which was just a heavy rain storm where the house is) and the owner couldn't have been kinder, gave me names of the nearest neighbors to contact if I needed anything. Luckily, everything was fine and we didn't lose power. I worked some days with good internet connection and other days I enjoyed nature and being at the ocean. I love this place.
We are a semi-retired couple and have vacationed along the California coast almost every year for over a decade. We stay anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks each year. For our specific needs Robinâs home overall is one of the best places we have stayed.
Robin was the consummate host answering all our questions and taking care of any small issues we had. Her house was well set up with clear instructions on all the amenities.
The view is truly outstanding including the crashing surf on the beach, expansive views of the ocean as well as Inspiration Point. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and down to the beach every day. The expansive deck off the main level as well as several outdoor gathering areas at the garden level are perfect for taking in the view and enjoying the sound of the surf.
The home is extremely private with extensive gardens that enclose the entire property. It is in a small, gated community with security, so we felt very safe for our entire stay. The beach and its amenities were great and rarely crowded.
Although the home is not new, the accommodations and amenities were all functional, comfortable, and well thought out. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor shower area off the main level guest suite. We were mesmerized by the detail in the stonework and stained glass. These combined with the multiple skylights add a unique character to the property.
Overall, the property exceeded our expectations and Robin was a fantastic host. We found it to be a great base for beginning to explore the Palos Verdes Peninsula and look forward to coming back for future visits.

I've been to many of the most beautiful places in the world. The location of the house right on the Pacific Ocean IS one of the most beautiful places in the world. But rather than traveling to far-flung places and rushing around to see all the sites, my month at this house was the most serene and relaxing vacation I've ever had. Communications with the owner were great. The house was very comfortable and very well-stocked. There was a panoramic view of the ocean (no peekaboo views!). Going to sleep and waking up every day to the sound of the waves was indescribable. There is no real road between the house and the private beach, just a lane to the beach for residents of the enclave. The beach was deserted almost every day except for the weekends. The house is unique and quirky with all the stone work. I loved EVERYTHING about the house, the setting, the experience! I was there by myself a lot of the time but also had family and friends spend a few days to a week with me. I didn't even get in my car the last week. I just nestled into the house, the ocean, the waves in total contentment. Also, there are GREAT walking trails all around the whole area. Thank you, Robin!!!
