Everything about this river retreat was perfect. Our teenagers had the whole upstairs to themselves and they loved that. It was quiet and incredibly comfortable. We saw 12 elk having dinner just across the river on our first night here and it was beautiful! We would have liked one TV downstairs, but it wouldnât deter us from staying again. We did a long hike one morning and were exhausted afterward, so being able to watch a movie together would have been nice. Otherwise, it was all wonderful and perfect!!!
First the good: beautiful home in a great location close to downtown Estes Park and RMNP. Great view of the river with wildlife close by. Comfortable, but soft, beds. Stylish leather seating for 5 in the family room and more upstairs. Large dining table. Appreciated the labels for the switches and the garage with opener. The kitchen cookware fell well short of expectations for a house this nice. Key items were missing (12â frying pan and pasta pot) and what was included looked like it was picked up at a garage sale. Cheap, warped pans. Flimsy small cutting mats. Dull knives and a mismatch of chipped plates. The more disappointing issue was so easy to fix. The neighborhood trash requires using special large green trash bags. The rules state that the garbage must be bagged before going into the green bag. Fine, we can follow rules. However no extra kitchen bags were supplied and we were told to go buy more. When I mentioned that that really wasnât acceptable they said they would bring some by but they never showed. Just put some bags in the house. We are paying 400 a night we arenât going to run off with your trash bags.
This is a really nice, well located vacation home just outside of RMNP and a short drive from downtown Estes Park. We enjoyed the first floor master bed room, comfortable and stylish seating for 5 in the main room, a large dining table and a functional kitchen. There were good instructions before checking in with lots of notes and labels around the house. The garage (with opener) was a nice bonus.
This would have easily been 5* if not for two issues. First, the cookware was substandard for a place of this caliber and price range. The pots/pans were warped and cheap. Small, flimsy mats were provided for cutting "boards" and knives were dull (as is typical unfortunately). I suggest the owners stay there for a couple of weeks while cooking.
More disappointing was an easily correctable issue with the trash bags. The neighborhood requires a special trash service using special trash bags. Bagged kitchen/bathroom trash goes into this larger, special green bags. That's fine; we can follow rules. But no extra kitchen bags were provided (for a 4 night stay). When contacted, we were told to go buy more. After more back and forth, we were told some extra would be brought by but that never happened. This certainly left a sour taste in what would have been a wonderful stay.
Property was nice. For the amount should not have seen cobwebs. The listing is very lacking of information and when I asked questions they referred to the listing only. No one answering questions knows the home. The âhostâ is not the owner. Heating of the home is very poor.
Property is mostly clean and well stocked with almost anything you could need to make this a home away from home. The location is great! We would definitely stay here again!
We had a great stay. Brought our grandkids to see snow. We had a Winter Wonderland. Great place with 3 nice bedrooms. Had everything we needed and great location.
We treated our kids and spouse for a weekend in Estes. We spent quality time together and enjoyed our 7 month old grandson. The place was beautiful and so clean!Had a great time disconnecting and having great conversation. Would highly recommend your place.
What an awesome stay with our first experience with bull Elk literally outside our unit everyday and sometimes peering through our bedroom window. The accommodations were exactly as described and couldnât have been better. Planning another stay next year.
What a lovely retreat, indeed!! We were here for a wedding and River Retreat felt like a warm hug when we walked in. Easy check in, with updates via email as needed. River Retreat offered all the comforts of home (clean and very well appointed) with a beautiful view of the river. The snow was an added bonus for this "southern family". The location was perfect as we were close to everything.. restaurants, shopping and sight seeing! We lacked for nothing and recommend it highly!
The house was beautiful. We loved listening to the stream alongside the house. Elk and deer in the yard, wow. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do! Great girlfriend trip. We will be back.
A wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. Watching the Elk right out our bedroom window was such a highlight!! Would definitely recommend staying here!
We are three women from all over the country who needed a mountain retreat. We found this property and fell in love. Everything about it was exactly as we hoped, including elk sitings every morning and evening. The home itself was perfectly accommodated and we hope to return again.
Unforgettable Family Getaway in a Mountain Paradise
We had the most amazing stay at this scenic riverside retreat in Estes Park, CO. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the amazing views of the mountains and the soothing sound of the river right outside the house. The location is perfect secluded enough to feel like a true escape, yet close to all the attractions of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
The house was cozy, clean, and beautifully furnished, offering all the comforts of home that perfectly matched the surroundings.
The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay special, providing great recommendations for local dining and activities.
This retreat is a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return. If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic escape that will create lasting family memories, this is the place!
our stay in Estes Park was wonderful. The location made traveling to different attractions so handy. We thoroughly enjoyed having the river right behind the condo and several times saw mule deer in the yard. The condo was clean , very well decorated and had great kitchen supplies. Thank you again for sharing this wonderful spot in Colorado with us.
