Mermaids Song: Dream Stay 600ft to Beach & River

Allez, je sais que tu as besoin d'un peu de magie .......... et la magie est notre spécialité du jour!

Notre bungalow sur la plage est situé à la croisée du fleuve et de l'océan (estuaire). Il se trouve dans une rue calme où vous pouvez vous retirer de la foule animée en été, mais prenez tout de même une courte promenade ou une promenade à vélo jusqu'au bal de promo. C'est parfait pour se sentir comme si vous aviez une plage privée et le Clamming, Crabbing & Fishing sont SUPREME!

À quelques rues de là, vous trouverez un parc municipal récemment rénové, en face du pont de la 12ème rue, où vous pourrez tenter votre chance avec nos cages à crabe. La rivière entre et sort avec la marée, ce qui est parfait pour la pêche, le kayak, la pêche à la crevette ou le peignage à la plage. Vous avez un coup d'oeil du coucher de soleil depuis la cuisine ou le porche et deux points d'accès à la plage juste un bloc dans les deux sens. Nous avons même entendu parler d’un troupeau local de wapitis, qui se rendaient à la plage.

Nous avons acheté cette maison en septembre 2017 et elle a été méticuleusement rénovée! Nous continuons à verser nos cœurs dans The Mermaids Song pour en faire le meilleur endroit pour séjourner à Seaside!

Ici, à la chanson Mermaids, nous offrons un service différent de ce que vous pourriez normalement trouver dans une autre location. Nous aimons nager la distance! Nous avons un réseau incroyable de professionnels que nous utilisons pour améliorer votre séjour.

Chaque invité reçoit une expérience de dégustation de vin gratuite dans le très primé Westport Winery. Nous aimons vous aider à planifier cette expérience ou toute autre chose à laquelle vous pouvez rêver. Nous avons également une masseuse extraordinaire, Alisha, qui offre des services dans notre maison ou son spa. Notre spécialité est de vous aider à planifier des activités allant de la peinture de nuit aux chartes de pêche, sans frais supplémentaires.

Awesome location for families

We loved the toys, books, grill, and beach tools. Very well stocked house, including great kitchen tools (and sharp knives!) Being a little outside the main commercial district was really nice for our crew, and we loved that we could also take a walk down the boardwalk to get there when we wanted to.

It was a great home! Well stocked with everything you could need. Some of the twin beds were squeaky, but overall comfortable. There are a few plug ins in the bedroom with twin beds that need to be looked at. Overall it was great!

Nice beachside retreat

My family stayed here for a weekend. The house was well stocked and the four bedrooms gave us room to spread out. The check in process was smooth and the owner was responsive when we had one minor issue (Wi-Fi password). All three of my kids said this was their favorite beach rental we have stayed at. We would stay here again.

Great Seaside Retreat

We had a great time staying at the Seaside bungalow. It had lots of space and amenities for a large party (8 of us). It was super comfortable and I'd recommend to others who want to visit.

Great place, love the location!

This place was so well stoked. Our teenagers really loved the snack tray left. We all appreciated the well stocked coffee bar and cozy living room with the fireplace. The front porch was nice to sit on even in the cold weather.

Adorable!

Such a fun house to stay at in Seaside- far enough away from the noise and busy-ness of the touristy area, but close enough to walk there easily. The beach was a block away and the area of the beach near the house was beautiful!!!

Great Stay

The house was very nice and impeccably clean. Had all the amenities we needed, and the beds were very cozy. My only thing to note was that I wish there was an earlier check in time. I feel like 5pm was a little too late, especially when we are paying for a full day's rate.

A Great Place to Stay

I was surprised how well stocked the house was. Everything was there except your food. My great granddaughters loved all the toys to play with. They were never bored. We'll have to stay again sometime.

Wonderful Getaway

We had a wonderful time at the Mermaid beach bungalow! The home was very clean and well stocked with all kinds of goodies! There were many games and activities to entertain everybody! The home is a short walk to the beach and to the promenade leading to the city center! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home to everyone! Thank you!

Mermaid House

The house was in a great location and perfect for our family to get to and from the beach often during our stay. we were surprised that the house had for use bikes, BBQ, Beach items such as chairs, beach towels and many other items. We have previously stayed in other houses in Seaside but really appreciated the owners thoughtfulness.

Perfect family getaway home

We spent a long weekend here with 5 adults, 4 children and an infant. Great location, comfy and plenty of space for everyone. We loved having a “kids” room for them to hang in. Fully stocked with dishes, coffee makers, waffle maker, beach toys and bikes. Hosts were very helpful and we had great communication. Thank you Mermaid Song, our family really enjoyed your home!!

Let's Do It Again!

Mermaid's Song is a very comfortable, excellently equipped, and nicely situated house close to the beach. We were a party of nine (six adults, three children) and we were very comfortable. Our activities were focused mostly on the nearby beach as well as the tourist opportunities in Seaside proper. While we did eat out, some we also cooked in the kitchen which had plenty of pots, pans, cookware, utensils, etc., etc. The garage was very well equipped with beach toys, beach chairs, coolers, and bicycles. While we didn't use it, there was also a great barbeque cooker available. All in all, this was a fine place for us to have quality time together as a family. We would happily stay here agin.

This house had all the little things you forgot as a traveler. Files, lotion, cotton balls, hair dryer, curling iron, I could go on and on. It’s a super cute house. We were nervous because there was only 1 bathroom and 8 of us there, but there is a little toilet cupboard also. She definitely spent some time decorating this home perfectly. My only thing I didn’t like was the small dining table, but we totally made due. It would be hard to fit anything bigger unless it was expandable. I loved the house, very cozy.

BEWARE AGGRESIVE HOSTS

we are rating our experience here as a 0 star. It all started with the hosts requiring a third party verification which cost money!? And then in an effort to be transparent, we let the hosts know that as the owner of my company I would not be joining the team on this work trip. This was not allowed in the rules for the house and we understood that without issue. The problems began when we asked for the reservation to be cancelled so we could re book with one of the employees as the renter. As the reservation was made last minute we were outside of a refund availability. This made it impossible for us to stay. At this point we communicated with the host and they took a stance that it was within the stated rules that they did not and would not offer any assistance. We tried in vain to go through VRBO to resolve. Eventually the hosts even resorted to threatening us after they were advised that we would be leaving an honest review. After all of this, they cancelled our reservation with no refund. As a prospective guest I would suggest reading through the entire contract they have as it is filled with conflicting information and threatening language as well as a laundry list of reasons they will fine the “guests”

We’re genuinely sorry this guest chose to misrepresent the situation in their review. To clarify: there is no fee associated with the guest verification process unless a guest is flagged as very high risk—and even then, they are simply asked to place a fully refundable deposit, not pay a verification fee. This system is in place to protect both our property and our neighbors from exactly the kinds of issues that have led to overregulation in many STR communities. In this case, the original guest disclosed—after booking—that they would not be staying and that the individuals arriving would be different from the person listed on the reservation. This violates both our house rules and platform terms, which clearly state that reservations must be made by and for the person staying. We were simply following established policies. While we always aim to help guests resolve issues, our cancellation policy was clearly stated at the time of booking, and we cannot bypass those policies at the last minute. The claim that we made "threats" is categorically false—we did remind the guest of the consequences of violating terms, which is not only appropriate but necessary to maintain the integrity of our listing. We work hard to create exceptional experiences for respectful, rule-abiding guests, and we stand by our policies. Our goal is always to be transparent, fair, and professional—something we’ll continue to prioritize for every future guest.

Nice place, unpleasant owner

I stayed here with a small group of friends, and while the house is quite lovely, our experience was marred by the interaction we had with the owner. The owner deducted from our safety deposit to replace a missing screw in the bathroom sink’s drain stopper that we absolutely had nothing to do with. The amount deducted was fairly ridiculous for the replacement of a screw (or even for the cost of a new plug). After being accused of this violation — somewhat harshly and without any acknowledgement that we asserted our innocence in the matter — my entire group offered to return to the home and see what could be done about the missing screw—not as an admission of any wrong-doing, but out of politeness. When we got there, the house was being prepared for the next renter and we were turned away by the housekeeper who told us “the situation would be dealt with and not to worry.” Within minutes of this, I learned about the charge to my deposit — remember this was for a screw. I sent multiple messages to the owner wherein I tried to explain how unjust this all seemed. These were met with condescending, accusatory, and aggressive statements that, quite frankly, made me feel like she thinks I am a lying, cheating, criminal (I’m not). If you choose to stay at this property, proceed with caution.

Jennifer stayed with a large group. They were respectful and tidy but they did damage the sink. We were on a vacation of our own when our housekeeper notified us with pictures. No one was nasty in any way to Jennifer. We asked if she knew how the piece was damaged and if a piece of it had fallen in the drain. This is where the conversation turned and she demanded that her group be allowed back into the house to take apart our drain. I tried to explain that we could not allow guests to take apart the sink and we had another rental checking in shortly. Jennifer then insisted that her group didn't touch the sink and it was like that before they came (this is untrue). She and her group then went back to our house and tried to bully my housekeeper into letting them take my plumbing apart. *If they didn't break it, how would they know the part went down the drain? Jennifer was charged $85.00. $10.00 for a new part and $75.00 for a plumber to check the drain. She then sent me a blackmail email, threatening to leave us a bad review that she promised everyone would believe unless the outcome changed. Here is her email: I didn't read the reviews of your property when we booked, but I can see now that you had at least one other guest who similarly found themselves in disagreement with you over what you claimed they were responsible for, and that they disputed. I think that another review that outlines our unpleasant interaction with you as the property owner might suggest a pattern and thus be more of a warning to others who are considering staying at your property. I don't like to air my grievances in such a public way nor flaunt them at you to get a compromise, but as for my review, the story is not yet finished until this is fully resolved. As it turns out, the sink damage was a bit more extensive and a part could not be found. The cost to fix it included the purchase of a part that was shipped from Europe and the plumber was upwards of $150. It always hard to tell someone that they damaged something and we realize that accidents happen but this was crazyville. It's a bit ridiculous that a guest would try to barge back in and try to take apart your plumbing and then blackmail you for a review. In the end guests should compare the two negative reviews, they both have commonalities. They both tried to use the review system to get away from their responsibilities.

Cannot recommend for familes with small children

Owners of the house were vague and do not communicate well with each other. We requested on 3/19 if we could check-in early. The response provided was the access code (arrival was 3/30). No mention of fees were disclosed during the email or face to face conversation with the owner at the home for an early check-in (half the nightly rate) until after we checked out as part of the modest portion they deducted from the deposit. When we arrived early one of the owners let us know that we could not check in yet but to leave our number with him to be contacted when we could. He was working on the chimney (due to damages and parts had not been delivered). He asked us not to use the fireplace which we obliged and went to the beach. When we returned, we did not enter until the housekeeper was leaving & left the door open & wished us a wonderful time. Cute house, sadly, it is not a friendly environment for families with small children because: ~The home is on the same dead-end street as the town’s waste water sewage treatment plant (not disclosed) ~Dump trucks and utility vehicles quickly passing in front of the house daily ~Cut wires sticking out of walls at children’s levels throughout the home ~Internet boxes were at a child’s level in a bedroom with the 3 twin beds ~Toys & games were provided but strict expectations from the owners not clearly communicated ~No compensation for: fireplace, an amenity; garbage containers placed at the street for pickup; cleaned kitchen, bathrooms, towels washed & put away Owners were very quick to take a moderate portion of our deposit for: ~Early check in (as noted above) ~A red stain on a comforter on the front room bed, which was never used. A red carpet stain was also stated in the children’s room that no one saw. No picture of the carpet was provided ~A box of sidewalk chalk and cleaning sidewalk ~4 towels from am in front of the washing machine instead of on the laundry room counter ~Reorganizing a game/toy closet. Described as ‘left in disarray’. The picture showed otherwise Owners took advantage by providing vague responses and instruction which made our family an easy mark because our children used the toys. The explanation provided for deductions taken from our deposit along with the requested pictures did not justify the partial refund. We have never encountered this type of stressful experience. Prospective travelers: print instructions. They are nowhere in the home and video when leaving.

As owners of The Mermaids Song, we rather take the high road here and use this opportunity to showcase this renter and her experience as an example. Tammy was sent a list of information, rules and expectations 2 weeks before her stay. This was her response: Thank you for the helpful and thorough information. You have done a great job detailing the expectations. We have all very similar house rules as well and will be very respectful of them. I was going to ask if there was an opportunity for early ck in. We are about 2-3 hrs away and had hoped to have a late lunch at the house with the little ones schedules. If this is possible it is greatly appreciated. I appreciate the availability of the beach accessories as well. We too will bring some of our own beach things as well as extra propane bottles. We are campers and have plenty in stock. We are also ALL NON-SMOKERS so no worries there. Looking forward to a fun time!! Tim & Tammy, Tue 3/19/2019 8:26 AM PDT She and three cars full showed up unathorized and expecting to check in at 12:30pm but found my husband on the roof (after a wind storm the night before) and housekeeping cleaning after a 11:am checkout. She lied to my husband and told him I said she could check in early. I'm not sure how we could possibly accomodate that after a 11am checkout and our rules state clearly that we offer early check in as a standard when we can but unauthorized will result in a charge. NO HIDDEN MESSAGES HERE! She then attempted another unathorized check in at 2pm and my housekeeper gave up and told her to have a wonderful stay. At that point what do you do?? Her Response after check in (note the time stamp) What an absolutely wonderful home to spend our mini family getaway!! So homey and we are very comfortable The kids are beyond excited with the toys. Thank you so very much for the gifts. So very unexpected.. Hope this weather holds up too!! Tammy, Sat 3/30/2019 3:40 PM PDT Upon check out there was a stain on the bedroom floor, comforter had red stains all over it, they took items from the interior outside and broke them, and left all of the puzzles and toys mix matched and out of their boxes for the housekeeper to attend to or for the next guests disappointment. Her untrue and spiteful review followed a $177.00 charge against her security. We have many reviews and hold superhost status but not on here and this renter gambled that we could be extorted or that we would look away for a review.

Weekend retreat with family.

The property was very clean and in a nice location for easy beach access. It was a bit far to town though. One full bath was a bit of a challenge for 10 people. Beds were also quite squeaky! It was also a bit hectic to find out 24 hours prior to arrival that all adults had to sign a rental agreement. We all live in different towns and work different shifts and this was very stressful at the last minute. Other than that, we had a good time and the house was well stocked.

The Mermaids Song is 60ft from the beach and 2 short blocks from where the prom starts. It's perfectly far enough not to be in the "Party" zone where the beach is private and the crazy is left behind but close enough that a stroll will take you to it all. I'm sorry if Brenda missed it but anyone googling it can see for themselves. It's so hard to answer to these types of reviews. As far as the bathrooms, we advertise the house has what it is so it's a 1.5 bathroom house but here is what Brenda fails to explain in her review...it has continuous hot water. With 10 people in a house in Seaside or for most rentals, it doesn't matter if you had 3 bathrooms because without an amazing water heater you would still be taking cold showers or no showers. Then she fails to tell you that the half bathroom has a huge illumination makeup mirror on the wall with a dry shampoo and makeup bar and an outdoor shower with Hot and cold water and a huge mirror in the hall with an outlet for drying hair. We have thought throughly about how people use the house. I wish guests would think thoroughly and thoughtfully with their reviews. The forms could be daunting on you if you ignored them for months. Hopefully people realize they receive them immediately after they book and they merely have to copy and paste a link to all their guests in different places . Brenda made her trip stressful on herself. That is the truth of it and our hospitality and effort to provide everything you could possibly think of is once again over shadowed by careless thinking. This may seem blunt and it's meant to be. We are tired of hosting the Brenda's of this world. If you are reading this and you can accept responsibility for yourself, read a listing, ask questions and be respectful then I assure you we are the best place you could ever book. Over 1,875 people have said so from other platforms and we were recently chosen as the best rental out of 275 in Seaside. However, if you are like Brenda, please book someone else's home where it smells like pee and everything is broken and no one cares what you come and do!

Everything You Could Want & More

What stands out about this property is the extra amenities included. The owners have thought of everything. From a loaded coffee bar, to sand castle building supplies, to video games and karaoke. You literally don't need to bring anything to DO. We have two toddlers and they had a blast using the art table, Little People toy set, Legos, and ride-on kids toys in the garage. This place was also immaculate - not a spec of dust anywhere. The furnishings gave it a whimsical beach house feel. It is nestled in a clean, quiet, and safe neighborhood right down from the beach. Also only 3 minutes from downtown Seaside where the famous Seaside carousel and aquarium is. The owners were wonderful to work with and despite as changing dates last minute, they were completely kind and accommodating about it. We will definitely be back to the Mermaid Song.

When guests show a complete lack of respect for your rules it is an abuse of hospitality. Remembering that you are not in a hotel, and that someone is sharing their home with you and that they likely use their home themselves, is not asking a lot. Asking people not to check in hours before we allow, for their own safety during COVID, should not be difficult. When I arrived to stock the house and found someone that shouldn't be there has thrown up on your front door and left there belongings but is no where to be found...It's a bit disturbing! To my surprise Ashley thought nothing of asking about an early check in and rather then clean up after her guests who puked, she thought...why not head to the beach. Then as if that isn't a rough start, they bring a dog to a house that states no pets. I wonder how uptight Ashley would be if someone walked into her house unannounced that she didn't expect and brought a dog that her child is allergic to. We love what we do but we don't like hosting entitled, disrespectful people. Ashley it might have been more honest if you took responsibility for your actions.

Cozy and accommodating

Perfect place to stay with family. Very clean house with lots of extra accommodations, something for everyone. We loved that it was on a quiet street away from the busyness of tourist.

We are William and Marie Moore and together with our children, it's our pleasure to Host you. If there is anything we can do to make your time more enjoyable and satisfying....WE WANT TO KNOW!

We started as an RV Rental Business (Weherdcats RV & Vacation Rentals) and were able to acquire this beach house in Sept 2017. We love this house and we share it with our 3 kids, ages from 16 to 5. It was once just a dream of ours and now we can share it with others.

We love water destinations! Beach and lakes are where our RV ends up most of the time. Our favorite destinations are Bullards Beach State Park, Brookings, Nehalem Bay, Seaside, Cannon Beach and Manzanita. We also try to make it to Lake Billy Chinook once a year. The kids love being out on the boat or in the water.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This wasn't our first choice but it won our hearts. It was a diamond in the VERY ROUGH! We ultimately chose this for the incredible location. It's as private a location as you can get in a very family oriented Seaside Town. With the ocean just 1 block away and access to the River as well as the ocean and parking for 4 cars, which truly makes it usable as a 4 bedroom....We just couldn't pass it up.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Ocean and River, close to Prom, close to 12th Street bridge and park, Hop away from DelRay Beach, Warrenton and Astoria, Cannon Beach as well. It just can't be beat! The Sunsets are gorgeous and the visiting Elk are an incredible experience.
