Cadre boisé à flanc de colline, mobilier design, draps haut de gamme, serviettes en coton égyptien, pommeau de douche effet pluie, produits de toilette L'Occitane, terrasse privée avec bain à remous et barbecue à gaz, terrasse avec vue sur l'océan. Nouveau lit queen Saatva, plus un lit double en mousse à mémoire dans le sofa sectionnel en cuir, chaise inclinable en cuir, foyer suédois, TV / DVR / DVD, wifi de toute la maison, bain fraîchement remodelé. Équipement de plage, (chaises, serviettes de plage, boogie boards, sac de plage, glacière) douche extérieure, deux croiseurs de plage à 7 vitesses avec casques et serrures. Accès à la laveuse et à la sécheuse. Accès privé et parking dédié hors rue pour deux voitures. Tout le monde est bienvenu.

Cette propriété historique (site de la La / Pacific Beach Electric Railway au début du 20ème siècle) est entourée de six hectares d'espaces ouverts permanents. La propriété donne sur un chemin pavé pour faire du vélo et de la marche, donc il n'y a pas de bruit de la rue. Les clients ont leur propre patio couvert spacieux avec une table et des chaises en plein air ainsi qu'une chaise longue rembourrée, doucement éclairée pour la relaxation en soirée. Juste à quelques pas du patio est un bain à remous pour deux sous un enclos de séquoia sur mesure avec de petites lumières, équipé de deux peignoirs en éponge et serviettes de plage. Une fontaine extérieure offre des sons sereins.

La propriété est sur une pente douce. Les invités entrent par un court chemin privé. Passez du temps sur un autre court chemin jusqu'à la colline à une plate-forme isolée et un banc avec une vue sur l'océan. À la base de la propriété, il y a une alcôve dans le feuillage avec deux chaises adirondack rembourrées et une petite table, parfaite pour le café du matin ou le thé. L'entrée de la maison est sécurisée par des clés électroniques et des clés.

Secluded Gem

Super quiet, well appointed with luxury details, but still rustic & cozy and only a short walk from the beach. We really enjoyed our short stay in La Jolla and look forward to returning to the area again soon!

A Slice of Paradise

I have to say: writing this review is difficult -- because I don't want everyone else to know about this place. My wife and I booked our stay to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and we couldn't have picked a more amazing house with fantastic hosts in a beautiful city. Everything about our stay was perfect: from the amazingly beautiful grounds to the cozy nature of the house. Having the kitchen was fantastic and that add in a beautiful outdoor patio and grill with hot tub -- eating in was almost better than eating out in La Jolla. The property feels so secluded: at night it is peaceful and quite -- except for the owl who kept us company at night and he was most welcome. And while the house is tucked away it was very easy to access all La Jolla had to offer from beaches to museums to restaurants. And our hosts provided everything: beach chairs and umbrellas and also bikes to not only explore the nearby trail but get around town if we wanted. We enjoyed our stay so much -- it was difficult to leave. We are very excited to return.

A Rare Find

Beautiful little 1 bedroom quaint cottage nestled in the woods. Quiet location in LaJolla close to Windansea beach and right along the local bike path. Private backyard outdoor dining with hot tub and small seating area with bench to view sunsets. The owner and her son are very nice, keep to themselves but are very attentive when needed. Loved it!

Great place to stay! Loved the cottage, quiet location, and peaceful patio out back! It’s an easy walk to the beach or the village. Everything needed was provided. Definitely would recommend!

An interesting property in a lovely setting

My wife and I were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary, so booked this property to give us a good base of exploring the city of La Jolla. We live in LA, but had never visited the city. The property was close to a beach with rocky shores and beautiful views. Our stay was marred somewhat by a loud, squabbling couple next door, and next door was VERY close. The hot tub was nice but closer to the angry duo. All communications with the owners were excellent. The house is multi-level, and rather smaller than the photos suggest. Also, it is older, vintage 1945, with all that that date may imply. We in the main liked it a good deal, and as a LA Jolla base it may be very good.

Jewel in the hills

This was a true find. We loved how it nestled into the hill and provided a green oasis while we explored the ocean and La Jolla. Very easy to walk to many things. Would have loved the bikes - but it rained when we had time for them. Thanks!

The perfect getaway

As many of the reviews mention - the pictures do not do this property justice. It is the most peaceful and relaxing property I have been a guest at. Absolutely beautiful. We loved being able to enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace and a glass of wine by the fireplace. Trish and Justin were fabulous hosts. We cannot wait to get back here!

Late February stay

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Windnsea Bungalow. As others have mentioned, the place is even nicer than shown in the photos. The lush landscaping is gorgeous, and the outside seating areas are well planned and executed. The bed and furniture are super comfy; we even made good use of the fireplace. Trish, Justin and their dog Daisy are fabulous hosts. They think of everything. The binder in the bungalow is full of useful and interesting information. It was such a pleasure to stay with them and hope to have an opportunity to visit again.

Wonderful

This place is so dreamy and relaxing — it’s our favorite place we’ve ever stayed. Loved the fireplace and hot tub, as well as cooking in the kitchen. There was some rain during our visit to La Jolla which made our stay here feel extra cozy, but we were able to take the bikes out during a break in the rain which was an incredible way to explore the area. Trish and Justin are A+ hosts — super kind and responsive. Don’t pass up an opportunity to stay here! We hope to come back soon.

THE BEST STAY IN LA JOLLA

We have rented from VRBO many times but this private cottage with hot tub, totally equipped kitchen, great views and lovely private patio were terrific. Hosts are lovely and helpful. We loved our stay

Wind and Sea Gem

This property has so much charm and character! I especially enjoyed the private patio; it was a terrific spot to spend time outdoors in the perfect SoCal weather. Kitchen was great; very well equipped. The hosts are super nice, and the location is fabulous.

A wonderful family vacation

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home! Trish and Justin were very hospitable. The property was amazing, with tons of windows and natural light. There was enough space both inside and outside the property for all to feel comfortable. The location is close to many beaches, shopping and restaurants, as well as markets, if we wanted to stay in and cook. My husband enjoyed the jacuzzi every night. The property comes with two bikes and we used them frequently throughout our stay. We hope to return!!!

Honeymoon retreat

Perfect little getaway for my wife and I. We had a great time. Location is on a hike/bike trail with bikes included at the property. We took full advantage of the bikes and could get everywhere we wanted easily.

Wonderful, quiet bungalow perfect for a getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at Beach Barber Tract. Trish, Justin and Daisy were just wonderful and have thought of everything. The location is ideal for everything in and around La Jolla and the San Diego area. We'll definitely be back for a future visit. Wish we had stayed longer as we didn't want to leave! David & Jeffrey

Excellent, charming, wonderful host

Charming cozy house. Fully equipped w a hot tub, full kitchen and the best hot shower/water pressure. We brought our kids (20 months and 5) and Trish was super accommodating. While it’s kid friendly I wouldn’t describe it as a place for kids but if you’re just venturing out for the day and coming back for nap/bed it’s totally fine for that. The area is beautiful and there’s ton of restaurants and beaches nearby. Overall was a perfect experience save for the crazy rain (which isn’t exactly Trishs fault ;). Great host, great description, great house and area. 5/5.

I'm a couples' therapist by profession, and love the freedom that being self-employed gives me, to play with my schedule, plan travel, and take off on adventures. My next trip will be a live aboard boat trip to the Channel Islands off the coast of Santa Barbara for hiking, snorkeling, birdwatching and kayaking.
I have always loved entertaining on a small intimate scale, and now, hosting this vacation rental gives me the opportunity to welcome guests from all over the world. I've always loved connecting people with what they are looking for, and now I get to recommend spectacular hikes, the most perfect local beach, tucked away restaurant gems, art venues, Kayak adventures and more.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I have lived in this amazing setting for 44 years. The front house, where I live, used to be a train station on the La Jolla-Pacific Beach Electric Railway over a hundred years ago. The Bike Path which runs in front of the property (instead of a street) was the right of way for the railroad tracks. Some of the original Monterey Cypress trees still provide shade! The back bungalow was built in the postwar period, and has a mix of mid-century modern and craftsman styles in its ambiance. Water features, wild bird and hummingbird feeders, a few carefully placed wind chimes: all contribute to a comforting, restorative environment.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

What's really special about this property is that there is only one neighbor on this side of the bike path. To the north and east we are surrounded by permanent open space. And then, it's only a two-minute drive, five-minute walk and 3 blocks to the world famous Windansea Beach. Champion surfers claim the surf breaks here, but there's room to swim, boogie board or rest and read in one of the sheltered sandy spots between the large sandstone formations.
On-site are an ocean view bench for sunset watching, a new double hammock with pillow for daydreaming, a alcove under a tree with two cushioned Adirondack chairs for morning coffee and a private covered patio with a teak table and chairs and a cushioned chaise. I am tickled when guests rave about the quiet, the feeling of spaciousness and the unique ambiance of Windansea Woods!
