Our extended family had a great time at this lovely property. Roof top deck is a fun bonus!Owner was responsive and accommodating on all issues, even with some last minute schedule changes.
10/10 ExcellentAMAZING ESTATE!!!! We stayed the first week of December 2025 and had a party of 13 (10 adults and 3 children) in our party and found the estate to be better than billed. The house was very well appointed (our son is a gourmet chef and said it was the first vrbo where he had everything he needed/wanted to prepare meals. The house was very clean and the views of the river from most of the rooms was fantastic. Three of the bedrooms have king sized beds with en suite baths. There is another king size bed in another room right next to a common bath. This worked out great for four of the married couples. The bedrooms with the king beds were all hugeâat least 16 x 14 if not bigger. The property is on the Caloosahatchee river. Itâs a very wide river (about 2.5 miles wide). The property is an absolute gem!! Tons of space for kids to play in front and back. The estate was centrally located to shopping, restaurants, golf, etc. The owner lives a few miles away and was very responsive to information requests and help booking massages/facials for the ladies (he has a masseuse on stand by for guests) Probably our favorite was cocktail hour every day on the rooftop bar which has spectacular views of the river. There was also a full moon while we were there and being on the rooftop bar to see that was a really unique experience! We have already booked our return trip for next year!!! Canât wait to come back. A definite must stay if you are going to Fort Myers!!!
I really hate to sound over the top, but this property was the perfect place to stay!! The view from the rooftop garden is amazing!! I can't even begin to describe the magnificent sunsets across the river. We. had 13 in our group, and everyone had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room for all of us. The pool was the perfect place to hang out and watch the boats and yachts go by on the river....one day, a pod of dolphins swam by...and that really got the grandkids fired up!! Both the front and back yards are quite large, and very nicely landscaped. The backyard is completely fenced in. Even though there are neighbors, the property is huge and you really get a sense of privacy, and luxury. The kitchen is extremely well stocked...I love to cook, and did not find anything lacking. It seriously is the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO I have stayed in. The restaurants and activities sent out in the welcome package all lived up to our expectations...it is a very well thought out welcome package. The golf course ( just down the street from the house) was a hit with our boys, as were the Edison Estate, and the downtown area all of which are within 3 miles of the property. Definitely make reservations at the restaurants that are recommended; they fill up quite fast as Fort Myers does have a bunch of Snow birds for the season...and you will realize why they go...the weather even in January if fabulous mid 70's to low 80's...perfect for a winter get away!!
Thank you! What a great property! We have traveled extensively and have stayed at many top-notch properties. This property ranks in our top 3. There is a long grove of trees coming up the drive. The estate consists of two separate residences which was perfect for us. The guest house has 2 master suites which were perfect for us (the grandparents) and one of our kids who does not have grandkids (ie enjoyed quiet away from grandkids). The main house has 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths which was perfect for our kids who had kids. The game room is huge and the grandkids wound up hanging out there. The front yard is large enough for tag and flag football. Ahead of our arrival, the host sent a very well-done welcome package which made the trip very easy, especially since it is season and you really need to make reservations in advance. We tried several of the host's restaurant recommendations and were delighted with our meals. The house itself was very, very spacious. We loved the antiques which were scattered throughout the estate. Another plus is the fact that the property is very centrally located to pretty much everything you would want to do. No excursion was more than 20 minutes or so away. All of the bedrooms were very comfortable with great views. We have forwarded the listing to some of our friends who are also coming to Fort Myers and it is our understanding that one of them has already booked. We highly recommend this property!
WOW!!!! What an amazing property. There were 12 people in our party and the estate was absolutely fantastic. We were initially concerned about going to Fort Myers because of hurricane Ian 2 years ago, but were very pleased to find that all of our favorite restaurants were open. There was no visible hurricane damage in the city. The beaches are back up and operational. The doctorâs estate is much higher than the surrounding properties and it suffered no hurricane damage. The property is huge. The front yard is about an acre and the back yard is about Ÿ of an acre. Our kids had a blast playing football and soccer. The favorite part for the grown-ups was lounging by the pool during the day and having cocktails on the rooftop garden for the sunsets. The rooftop garden had seating for dinners for 18 and was about 3,000 square feet. The kitchen was fully stocked and very different from the sparse kitchens weâve experienced in other rentals. A definite must stay if you are going to Fort Myers!!!
FANTASTIC PROPERTY! Our party of 10 arrived a little earlier than expected and our host graciously let us access the property early. The estate is very centrally located to downtown, night life, beaches, and shopping. We were very pleased to find no residual damage in the city from the hurricane a few yars ago. The weather was fantastic. We spent a lot of time in the pool which overlooks the river which is several miles wide. Our kids had a blast fishing off the dock and caught several fish. We went to the beach a couple of times, but honestly we had more fun just hanging out in the pool while the kids played in the huge back yard and swam. Nights on the rooftop garden were amazing!!! What a view!!! The house was very clean and the showers were huge. We cooked in a few nights and found the kitchen to be stocked with tons of dinnerware and cooking appliances. The linens were top quality and our host was able to help us secure golf reservations from the golf course less than 1 mile from the estate. Our host, Dr. John, was most gracious and sent a very well done welcome package that detailed the antiques on the property, nearby shops, and his favorite restaurant recommendations. We have already booked our repeat stay for next year. Canât wait to come back!!!
Beautiful home for large gatherings, great location
We had 3 families with teenagers stay in this beautiful home for late March spring break. We rented both the main and guest houses. The owner was very responsive before and during our visit. Paid for pool heating in addition (hot tub is just extension of pool) - well worth it. Lots of yard space and games provided by the owner. House was very comfortable, large driveway for multiple cars and fruit trees for picking and beautiful flowers/orchids on the property. Plenty of refrigerator space (2 in main, one in guest house). Safe, easy location for nearby restaurants - we walked to several - and short drive to several beaches. Rooftop was amazing but the spiral staircase, the only way up, is not for everyone, I would highly recommend this property and would consider staying again. Owner provided a comprehensive list of restaurants, beaches, shops and sites to see that were very helpful. Thank you John for a wonderful week!
We had a very nice stay at Reve Sur La Rive for Spring Break in March. We rented both the main house and the guest house and it was more than enough room for our large family to spread out and spend a week. We enjoyed the pool and the view of boats going by on the river. We made an assumption that there was a hot tub based on the pictures of the pool area, but that isnât the case as the small round area is just an extension of the pool. There is a lot of outdoor lawn space to toss a frisbee or football or just for the kids to explore. The property is very centrally located to downtown Ft Myers, Ft Myers Beach, Sanibel and Captiva. We used Instacart and had groceries and alcohol delivered shortly after we arrived. Be sure to add toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher tabs and laundry detergent to your order as those were in very short supply. There were lots of towels, both pool and bath which was very nice.
The rooftop patio area above the guesthouse was a great place to hang out in the evenings but the steep spiral staircase to get up there isnât for small children or the faint of heart! We enjoyed giant fresh avocados right from the tree in the yard. The owner of the home lives close by and was very responsive to any problems that arose. We would stay again if traveling to Ft Myers
This property accommodated our family of 12 very well. It was well stocked and very clean. The home is finely decorated and very comfortable. The guest house with the roof top garden was especially beautiful. The owner, John, was very responsive to any issue we raised. We would definitely come back.
