We enjoyed our stay being up high in the cool mountain air.
The house fit our needs well, it provided enough beds and the hot tub was a plus.
The inside of the house was very clean however the outside needed some TLC.
Plenty of beds, towels and space. Secluded but close enough to anything you need. Centrally located between NC and TN, so we saw Waynesville,Forest City, Gatlinburg,Pigeon Forge. Hot tub every night, grill for them Smokey mountain meats, great stay!!!
Great, quiet location and centrally located for the destinations we traveled to. Driveway a little tricky for motorcycles but would be no problem for cars.
We had plenty of space for a family of 4, and we would have been fine with even more people. We spent most of our time out and about, but cooking meals at the cabin. We enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was clean, neat, and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with all the things one might need for cooking. The bed was very comfortable and very high, however, there was a small stool for short people like me! lol
We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the wonderful cooler temperatures and the sound of the rushing creek below across the road. During our stay we saw a black bear, a momma and baby deer, some wild turkey, a wood chuck that came in the yard early evenings, and lots of black butterflys.
This cabin was the perfect size for us. The hot tub was great paired with the cool weather and heating the creek every day was something else. My only complaint is that I wish I knew it costed money to throw our trash away.
My girlfriend and myself stayed at Rustic Charm which was between Waynesville and Maggie Valley and was up on the side of of the mountain. We were close to all attractions. It rained one night and was pleasant to sit out under the balcony and listen to rain and thunder , if i hadn't a home emergency and had to leave a day earlier, but would give 5 stars for our stay and hope in the future we are able to stay there again
My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights at the Rustic Charm cabin. We really enjoyed our stay and will likely stay there again in the future. We went snow skiing one day at Cataloochee, and then we toured the Biltmore Estate on another day. This cabin is perfect for a couple or small family getaway vacation. It is about 10 minutes up the mountain from the town of Maggie Valley so it is not too far from anything. We are glad we stayed there and would recomend it to anyone else.
Easy access for a mountain cabin. Constant sound of the creek with a view of a little fall from the porch. Best equipped kitchen we have ever had in a VRBO (pot, pans, etc) . Only thing I would say is the upstairs is a little smaller than the pictures. Overall a great time.
Cute cabin, very tight quarters. Worked for us because we had activities planned for each day. Wouldn't be comfortable for a party of our size (5) if you plan to hang around the property. Hot tub was lovely, clean, well-maintained. Lovely setting. Weirdly, only 2 washcloths in the whole house?
Our stay was wonderful but a little further away from the ski slopes than we thought. The cabin was well equipped and roomy! Very homey cabin vibe. The driveway and road right outside of the cabin iced over in the snow and we had a horrible time getting out (even at 4:30 PM to go to dinner). We did have a four wheel drive vehicle with us and an all wheel drive. Just a heads up!
This is a hideaway that is true to its name as the Rustic Charmer. The place was rustic and could have used a good power-washing. It was quiet and serene. The hot tub was clean. The place was eerie at first, but grew on us over the few days we were there. Bring your own towels is you like fresh towels. The dryer didn't work well and we hung our clothes to dry. It is rustic, but for the price and location to everything... it was great.
Cabin was very well equipped. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Stream was great to listen to on the porch. I didn't look close enough to realize road did not connect to ski area so it was further away than I realized. My own fault just don't want other to make same mistake. That said, hot tub was great apres ski! Kitchen had everything you could need. Wood burning stove was awesome. Smart tv was great for movies for kids. Owners were super responsive to any inquiries we had. Would definitely recommend.
This is a great place to stay if you're visiting the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area in the summer and want a nice, cool place to relax after a day of hiking or sightseeing. The property is at 3500' and the temperature is always at least 10 degrees cooler than down in the valleys, which is delightful on a hot summer day! The road and driveway are a little steep (we're flat-landers from Florida and most NC roads look steep to us!) but were no problem at all for our little Toyota Corolla. The Swag Inn is very close by, just up the mountain about a 10 minute drive -- a wonderful place to go for dinner or Sunday brunch. (Definitely make reservations ahead of time. They're usually fully booked.) We would stay here again.
The fireplace was electric .. and we lost power on our last night. The photos were slightly deceiving and we had no clue it had such steep scary steps and I have a 1 year old. The hot tub was lovely but the chlorine was STRONG, I was itching terribly after 20 mins. All beds except master were extremely hard and the master bed is SO high. Water pressure was horrible :( for older kids / adults itâs a good vacation spot. Not so much with babies. Enjoyed the cabin itself. Thanks for having us.
Really fantastic stay! Immediate and thorough communication from the property contact including local tips and suggestions. Pay attention to the hand-drawn map. My navigation skipped one road that youâre on for a quick moment right before turning down the street the property is on. Caused some confusion at 1am when we arrived, but the map provided by the property contact cleared it right up. Clean enough â including the hot tub â for the pickiest person. The kitchen is ridiculously well stocked with various pots, pans, utensils, and machines. Youâre about 15 minutes from stores and restaurants and there are plenty. You have to take the trash to the convenience center when you leave, which is easier than it sounds. There are several (list on fridge) and one is almost certainly on your path out. There are at least five beds plus the couch and two bathrooms (one giant bed and bathroom downstairs with the rest up). Super comfortable with lots of pillows. Although you have another house fairly close, you sure wouldnât know it. The space is throughly private and quiet with the thick tree coverage. While there is A/C, we needed it less than expected even in late June. Full-sized washer and dryer. Wi-fi was great. Really delightful place with thoughtful attention paid to comfort and convenience. Recommended without hesitation.
The cabin is in an excellent location, very high in the mountains where you'd even notice a difference in the temperature, especially during the early mornings. There's a small creek running across and along the street. There is no traffic on that street as the house is one of the last ones on that street and walking up for 6 minutes gets you to the end of the road.
The cabin has a large bedroom downstairs but it doesn't have a bathroom in it. The full bathroom is outside the bedroom next to the washer and dryer, and is shared with the living room. The kitchen is open to the dining area and the living room with a small window overlooking the forest. The living room has two windows overlooking the porch. Upstairs has two areas to sleep: one master bedroom (with a full bathroom) and another area turned into a bedroom where it has a king-size bed and a twin bed. The master bedroom has two twin beds with a small closet area. The area upstairs where it has the king-size bed and the twin bed is open to the stairs without a door, and it also has a TV.
The living room has a sofa bed and a love-seat. The couch sometimes had a weird smell and we never knew where it came from. It smelled as if there was a dead rat in it from time to time but not always. It didn't bother us much but whenever we smelled it it felt weird.
The kitchen has all amenities that you'd need to cook and grill even on the porch. The open grass area in front of the house is good but is not a good place for kids to play as it has a sharp incline. You can lay down there with a blanket and have a picnic.
There's a hot tub or jacuzzi as well with a great view of the mountains and the forest, and it's very private.
We slept every night on the sounds of the creek and woke up in the early mornings on the sounds of the birds. Experiencing nature at this cabin is absolutely awesome. It's so quiet as you barely see any cars passing. You can grab a chair and go sit by the creek across the street if you'd tolerate a few minutes of insects attacks :) or sit in its water to cool off.
We absolutely loved the place and the host. The host was great and very helpful.
Our stay was great. There was enough room for the five of us. Kitchen was stocked well with kitchen ware, utensils and cooking supplies.
Quiet of the path cabin
