Make the most of your proximity to the magnificent Norfolk Broads and beautiful coast when you stay at this single-storey retreat in the hamlet of Oby. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom holiday home enjoys pretty gardens where you can soak up the summer sun and a wood burner for toasting beside on autumn and winter evenings. Head to the beach at Winterton-on-Sea, 7 miles away, to swim and spot seals bobbing in the water.


Wander inside via a generous hall, where you can hang coats and bags and slip off your shoes. Stroll on through to the lounge/kitchen/diner to recline on the corner sofa and switch on the TV. Light the wood burner in here on chilly days and listen to music as you chat. Head up to the kitchen end of the room, which has a peninsula breakfast bar, to prepare a light lunch or delicious dinner for your friends and family with produce bought fresh from the local farm, then serve up at the table. There is also a handy washing machine in here for rinsing walking gear or beach towels. When day turns to night and you are ready to lay your head on your pillow, amble through to one of the double bedrooms. These share a family bathroom. Step out into the garden via the French doors and enjoy a cup of tea in the summer house. Later on, heat up the BBQ to cook supper out in the fresh air. There is parking here for two cars and space for a small boat on a trailer should you wish to use the launching facilities 1 mile away in Thurne.


Nursery Cottage sits on a small working farm in the heart of the Broads, with its own vineyard right on the doorstep. The owners are happy to show you around the vines, where you can enjoy sweeping countryside views and learn how their wine is produced. You may even be invited to sample a glass, capturing the distinctive character of the area, and you can also buy seasonal, locally reared farm produce to enjoy back at the cottage. Explore the beautiful Broads, with their rivers and lakes. Walk or cycle along trails in the area or hire rowing boats from Filby, 3.5 miles away, or day cruisers from Potter Heigham, 4.5 miles away. Make a day trip into the historic city of Norwich, 16 miles away.
