Swift Cottage est l'un des neuf chalets qui ont été convertis avec sympathie à partir des bâtiments existants d'une ferme en activité. Bénéficiant du calme et de la tranquillité, les maisons de vacances sont situées au milieu des pâturages et bénéficient d'une vue magnifique et inoubliable sur la campagne magnifique. Avec une piscine intérieure chauffée de 38 pi * 16 pi et des installations récréatives de qualité, le Swift Cottage avec ses poutres apparentes et sa galerie ouverte a tout pour plaire. Grand salon / salle à manger avec un sol en ardoise - comprend 40 "smart TV, incorporant lecteur DVD et installation d'enregistrement USB, jeux, livres, etc. Poêle à bois. Salon a un accès direct à la terrasse privée dans la cour avant .. Cuisine - unités de style moderne - bien équipées à côté de la salle à manger. Chambre au rez de chaussée avec lits jumeaux, télévision à écran plat avec lecteur DVD et salle de douche attenante, escalier en colimaçon pour ouvrir la galerie. Premier étage chambre principale avec lit king size, TV à écran plat avec lecteur DVD séparé et salle de douche attenante. Chauffage, draps, serviettes etc tout compris. Wifi gratuit. Swift a l'avantage supplémentaire de l'accès arrière à la piscine intérieure chauffée et à la salle de jeux adjacentes et à la zone extérieure commune pour l'aire de jeux pour enfants, aire de pique-nique et barbecue, etc.

À l'extérieur
Extérieurement Swift a un grand patio avant avec table de pique-nique et un parapluie, plus un siège de bois de compagnon avec barbecue, plantes en pot et arbustes dans les parterres de fleurs adjacentes. Cette zone est un piège à soleil pour manger en plein air.
Les familles peuvent profiter de l'environnement calme de la campagne tout en profitant d'un barbecue avec leur famille ou avec d'autres familles et amis dans la zone commune pour les pique-niques, barbecue, etc. pendant que les enfants jouent à proximité.
En 2015, Newhouse Barton Management a investi dans une chaudière à biomasse pour la gestion du bâtiment communal. Nous sommes donc passés au vert et à l'environnement.

High spec cottage

Nice, clean cottage furnished to a high specification which is well of the beaten track. Family friendly with a large communal swimming pool and games room and outside play area. There is a PodPoint 7kw charging post which is charged at a very high price if you want to use it. Consequently, there were at least 4 EV/PHEVs parked on the parking lot but nobody used it.

Lovely little break away

Swift cottage is a gorgeous little place...so clean, comfy and well equipped. We arrived in the dark and the cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived. The beds were comfy and we all slept very well. The grounds were immaculate and the pool was a big hit with our 2 year old. Great communication with host as Jacquie was just a message away if we needed anything. Many thanks :)

Beautiful property in a beautiful location

I would highly recommend this property. It has everything you could possibly need and is very comfy. It helps too that on site there is a very well looked after and child friendly pool. The games room and playground are an added bonus. Having a 2 year old and an 8 year old it was a nice surprise that the owner has re-modelled the staircase. The phots initially showed a spiral staircase but this is now a much more child friendly staircase. We enjoyed this property so much that we have already booked for next year!

A relxing stay in Beautiful surroundings.

The cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped. We all enjoyed the swimming pool, especially the 4 year old. The play area was also very popular with him too! I would definitely recommend this for family's and those looking for a peaceful place to unwind.

Lovely stay at Swift cottage

We had a lovely week stay here. The location was so peaceful, it was very welcome after coming from the city. The children loved having access to the pool and had great fun. The cottage itself was cozy and welcoming and very clean. It had everything you needed to make meals. We would definitely recommend this place to others. Thank you for the stay.

Lovely cottage in such a tranquil spot

Really enjoyed our time here, the building is a really lovely old farmhouse and the conversion to cottages have been done very tastefully. Very cosy with everything we needed. It is a very isolated location but on the plus side it is very peaceful! Loved the pool, fantastic for our little 4 month old baby to have a splash and also big enough for adults to do some laps. We hope to be back!

Great Stay at Swift Cottage

We had an amazing time at the Swift Cottage and will definitely be back. The cottage is lovely and was spotlessly clean on arrival. The cottage has a lot of facilities, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, hairdryers, coffee machine etc. There are also two bathrooms which are incredibly convenient when staying with family. The beds and pillows are also really comfortable. There is also a very nice heated indoor swimming pool, easily accessible, and directly across from the cottage which we made full use of. Jacquie was also a fantastic host and gave us a call to make sure everything was alright. The local area is nice and has lots of things to see and do.

Perfect getaway

Gorgeous property, location wonderful (the lane to the cottage is narrow - a typical Devon lane, but worth the drive). Excellent communication from a Jacqui both before and during our stay (as the weather had turned colder, Jacquie checked that we were warm enough which we were because the cottage was beautifully warm). Had everything you needed in the cottage and more. Will absolutely recommend Swift Cottage to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful time (even though the weather wasn’t at its best!) 😀

Gold star rating well deserved. Superb property..

Located on a lovely rural complex but within reach of many of the tourist attractions. Beautiful indoor pool and family facilities. Cottage was spotless and had everything you need. Great all year round holiday accommodation. Guaranteed to please.

Lovely small cottage for family and dog with great swimming pool

The cottage was nicely presented, clean and tidy. The living space was quite small but exactly as described and expected; the bedrooms are both good sizes. The cottage is well equipped but the selling point was the swimming pool, which we used every morning. (There are other leisure activities, which we didn't use only because the weather was so lovely we were out all day). The owner sent excellent directions, which you need as it is 'off the beaten track', and other instructions and everything was very well organised in the cottage. The location is picturesque but you do need to drive some narrow lanes before you start to get anywhere; however lots of lovely places are within easy reach. The owner had recommend a river trip to Dartmouth and that was the highlight amongst our varied travels. We ate in every evening in part because the cottage was comfortable and cooking facilities food but also because we didn't fancy the drive anywhere in the evening. It appears as with all HomeAway cottages there is a very limited hamper on arrival, which is OK except some milk and bread would be nice, if nothing else, because the first thing we want on arrival is a cup of tea! We always check what we can expect but when other cottage providers provide a wide range of local produce this omission always looks a bit mean and could catch other less organised travellers out.

Goed uitgeruste vakantiewoning

Alles zag er uit als op de foto’s en huis was heel goed uitgerust met alles wat nodig was. Zeer goede WiFi wat belangrijk was voor onze puberzoon. Hele leuke omgeving en veel gezien aanrader is round Robin. Het was heel mooi weer en het enige wat ontbrak waren goede tuinstoelen. Mooi zwembad en leuke gameroom vooral met de tafeltennistafel. Pooltafel moet voor betaald worden. Enige nadeel is dat we er niet goed konden hardlopen verder Top vakantie.

Großartige, ruhige Lage... ein Rundumsorglos-Paket

Das Anwesen ist von Schafen und Weideland umgeben. Der Spielplatz und das Spielzimmer für schlechtes Wetter kamen bei unserer Tochter sehr gut an. Das gesamte Anwesen ist gut gepflegt. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist die über WLAN vom Vermieter gesteuerte Heizung. Da die Vermieterin gut per Mail erreichbar ist, reagiert sie schnell und ist hilfsbereit. Wir können die Unterkunft guten Gewissens weiterempfehlen!

Absolutely wonderful

We have had the most wonderful stay at a swift cottage. Completely away on its own yet close to beautiful Torquay and 10 minutes to local town for shopping. Fantastic amenities especially the pool and play areas. Immaculate cottage beautifully kept and exceptional contact and information from the owner. We will recommend to all and most certainly be back - 5 stars !!

Swift Cottage

This was the second time that we booked Swift Cottage. The facilities are very good and there is an excellent swimming pool. There are plenty of places to eat in the area. We visited the Dartington Estate just outside of Totnes where both cafés served excellent food with vegan options on their menus. Jacquie the owner is easy to contact and ensures that everything is ready on your arrival. The cottage and local area is dog friendly.

Fantastic!

We have arrived at swift cottage, and it was just what the Dr ordered, it is in a quiet location, ideal for any one who wants to relax but close enough to towns if you want to venture. The cottage was lovely and worked great for us with having a disabled son, with it having a bedroom down stairs and bathroom. On site the swimming pool and play area was very clean and great to do when we didn't want to go of site. The cottage was very clean and cosy. Jacquie the owner was great to book with and we will definitely come back again!

Quality rental from a very accommodating owner

Jacquie's cottage is well equipped with good quality furnishings and textiles. It's roomy. The showers are excellent. There's loads of hot water. The cottage has a reasonable broadband connection and we were able to stream BBC iPlayer content onto the smart TV in the lounge. The cottage is unusual in that group of properties as it has a front and a back door. We found the back door especially handy for access to the swimming pool and the car park. The shared swimming pool is a good size and is lovely and warm. We didn't use the games rom but it looks well equipped. Jacquie is an excellent communicator and usually responds within the hour. She is very accommodating and resolved a couple of queries to our satisfaction. We would not hesitate to recommend Swift Cottage and Jacquie.

In 2012 I retired as a Chartered Architect, having run my own architectural practice for over 15 years, before that I was a Architect for an outer London Borough, specializing in Education and Leisure buildings. In my early 20's I was married to a Civil / Structural Engineer, but my career took over and hence I got divorced. My career is now the self-catering cottages having a barn conversion near Aldeburgh, Suffolk and now Swift Cottage near Totnes. My friends and family love Swift Cottage especially my two toy poodles 'George and Pippa'.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Many family holidays with my parents were spent in Devon at a farm in Colyton and when I found Swift Cottage for sale, I knew that I had to buy it, as it was surrounded by the rolling hills of South Devon, just as I remember the area in my early years.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Swift Cottage is unique in its design by having exposed oak beams, vaulted ceiling, staircase with access to a mezzanine leading to the first floor main bedroom. Ground floor bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms with ensuites. Rear door leading direct to the pool and games room. The cottage is cosy with its wood burning stove and electric heating in all rooms.
