The Neighborhood:
Marble Arch is a 19th Century white marble-faced triumphal arch giving its name to the vicinity of its site. The area lies in the City of Westminster and forms a major road junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane, Bayswater Road and Edgware Rd. The only properties in this vicinity are found on some of London's most exclusive streets including Park Lane.
The most intriguing part of history about Marble Arch is the history of the area that surrounds the location of gargantuan Marble Arch itself. It was here that London's old Tyburn Gallows once stood. With a history dating back to the 12th century, Tyburn was a hanging gallery for the city's most notorious criminals, right up until 1783. Its current site is an entrance to Hyde Park and now continues to act as a gateway between Bayswater and Marylebone.
The most obvious positive to staying in Marble Arch is itâs proximity to many of Londonâs most famous tourist attractions youâll find yourself on the verge of beautiful Hyde Park and right at the Western End of Oxford Street! There are also countless other attractions just a short walk away, including the West End and Buckingham Palace. Youâll be surrounded by bars, restaurants and nightlife too! Itâs also extremely accessible to other parts of the city thanks to Marble Arch Tube Station.
Marble Arch tube station (Central Line) is only a 7 minute walk from the apartment. Offering quick links to Notting Hill and St Paul's. Edgware Road (Circle & District Line) tube station is only an 8 minute walk from the property. This offers great transportation connections to Kings Cross and Victoria.
Getting Around:
30 seconds away from London's amazing Hyde Park, which is always buzzing with life and a great walking location. You are also treated to great shopping points like Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus where you can shop til you drop. All within a walking distance that takes 25 minutes or via the Bakerloo line taking just 7 minutes. Just make sure to wear comfy shoes as walking would be your best bet to take in all the sites.
There are a plethora of local stations, for example: Edgware road, Paddington, Hyde park corner, Bond Street, Marylebone and Edgware road that are within a 1.5 mile radius, making ample opportunities to experience London to the fullest.
Other Things to Note:
We kindly request that you read the house rules prior to booking and respect them during your stay. Parties or events of any kind will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule will result in eviction from the property and charges for any damages or additional cleaning required. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
