The Neighborhood:

Nestled on the edge of historic Chichester, Fishbourne is a charming and peaceful village known for its Roman heritage and relaxed pace of life. Just a short walk from the cottage, you’ll find the famous Fishbourne Roman Palace – the largest residential Roman building discovered in Britain – as well as a friendly local pub and scenic walks along the coastal path.



Chichester city centre is only 5 minutes away by car or a leisurely cycle, offering a fantastic mix of high street and independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and the renowned Festival Theatre. The area is also ideal for exploring the stunning South Downs National Park, with endless walking and cycling trails.



The beautiful beaches of West Wittering, Bracklesham Bay, and East Head are just 20 minutes away, perfect for a seaside day out. For motorsport and horse racing fans, Goodwood is right on your doorstep, and the nearby Bosham and Dell Quay harbours offer idyllic spots for crabbing, kayaking, or waterside dining.



Getting Around:

While having a car is handy for exploring the wider area — especially the South Downs, local beaches, and Goodwood — Fishbourne is also well connected by public transport. Chichester is just a 5-minute drive or a quick cycle away, and there are also local bus routes serving the surrounding villages and coastline. Taxis are readily available in the area, and there’s free off-street parking at the property.
