Bearâs Den was a wonderful place to stay for couples. It was small, quiet, and close to town as well as the national park entrance. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone!
Well stocked and comfortable. Didn't use hot tub as leary of mislabeled control panel and privacy to cabin down the hill. Cabin is dangerously close to the road and almost got hit by speeding car while walking dog.
We were extremely impressed with Bears Den. The cabin was adorable and the attention to detail was amazing. Hot tub was wonderful, bed was comfortable, hot water in the shower, and WiFi was good. Location was about 7 minute drive to the caverns, shopping, and restaurants in Townsend. It was a wonderful getaway.
The cabin was cozy and clean. The location easy to access other mountains. The view was little lacking. All other was great!!! The lower price was very helpful
We stayed here for 4 nights. Overall, the cabin is pretty cozy and comfortable. Much of the interior including the appliances appear to be updated. Only caveats are 1. the hot tub has difficulty heating above 98 F, and 2. the shower head is angled in a way that the water would hit a wall before a shorter person can catch the water. But overall, I highly recommend this place.
The cabin was wonderful. Everything we needed. Enough towels was a plus. We've stayed at other VRBO homes and what they say is not what you get. This was definitely everything it said plus. The location in the woods next to a mountain was perfect. It was far enough off the main road that you pretty much did not hear traffic. The road the cabin is on is private so not much traffic at all. We loved the relaxed feel of it all. The hot tub was a bonus. We liked that it was close enough to everything but not in the middle of it all. Loved it! Definitely recommend
This cabin was just what we needed for our weekend trip, we spent a lot of time out and about, but it was conveniently located to cades cove and also to pigeon forge, it was clean and comfortable, the shower was small but will work for a quick stay, would recommend!
Perfect little cabin for two. Only minor thing is the shower is tiny! It has a high shower head and good pressure but you can barely turn around. Bed is great. Perfect little couples getaway.
This cabin was awesome! We have done several trips to the Smoky Mountains and love staying near Townsend as it's more quiet and peaceful. Bears Den is secluded so you aren't by other people but close enough to town to be able to get supplies when you need them and close to both of the park entrances, making it super convenient when visiting the park. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. We really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace. The bed was comfortable and shower was hot. This place was perfect for a getaway with my husband. Please note that we did not get cell service (we are with Cricket which is off the AT&T network) (which we actually liked). The wifi is good so you can use the internet to connect with other people if you need to and there is a landline for emergencies.
The Bears Den is a great private and relaxing cabin. Good location, close to all the attractions and fun. The hot tub was nice and relaxing after a full day. We will be back!

Cute, but not what I wanted/expected
The cabin was cute, clean, and had everything we needed. However, in booking this I had set out with one agenda, to find a secluded cabin with a hot tub somewhere within eight hours driving distance of Ohio. I found in my search that there is ambiguity in âsecludedâ, but given the description and reviews for this one I thought this one actually was. Itâs not. Itâs literally about six feet away from the road, squeezed between the road and the bottom of a steep ravine. Three sides are treeless, it really had no cabin in the woods or nature like feel at all and the sides are wide open so if you are on the back porch or in the hot tub, you would be visible to cars going by on the road. Granted, there werenât many. I saw about three cars go by per day, but thatâs with being away from the cabin for about eight hours per day. Night one the hot tub was great, day two we didnât have a chance to use it, and day three we couldnât wait to get back to the cabin and get in it only to find it was cold when we got there. (I figured thereâs a power saving feature or something, which would have been good to know in advance if thatâs the case.) we readjusted the temperature and it took about six hours to get back up to a minimum temp that would be comfortable for a hot tub. I donât really care, but for the price of the place and what you may be looking for when you book it, the hot tub panel is pretty beat up and installed incorrectly. The âjetsâ and âlightsâ buttons control the temp, and the temperature buttons control the jets and lights. The button that actually controls the jets is so worn youâd have to push it a bunch of times, hard and in just the right spot, for it to respond.
If youâre going for a romantic getaway, like we were, itâs also a little weird that the sofa has two built in recliners with a huge raised divider/cup holder/storage between the two seats. So you canât sit right next each other while enjoying the fireplace or anything. So no cuddling for you. (That part felt a little like bringing a girlfriend home to meet the parents in my early 20s and mom making us sleep in separate bedrooms.) âI miss you!â I joked to my partner while we drank tea on the same couch with nearly the foot divider between us. Just something to note. I will say if you are specifically just going to visit the Smokies and looking for a quieter place to stay, this is indeed secluded and quiet compared to the hustle bustle of Gatlinburg and this would be great for that.
This cabin is very quaint, quiet and clean; everything was perfect just as described by other reviews and Cathy. It's very central to all attractions e.g. Pigeon Forge (tourist attractions), to river rafting at the River Rat, and hiking through out Cades Cove.
We would definitely make future reservations.
Thank You!
