Simply put, the apartment was terrible. There was a lot of mold, including right at the top of the bed where I slept, the walls were extremely dirty, and the mattress where I slept was curved and we had to twist it so I did not sleep with my feet higher than my head. My friend even had a nosebleed at the end of the stay because of the mold.
There are many other problems with the apartment, including:
Almost no lighting: most of the light switches were not functional;
The air was very stuffy and humid because there was literally no ventilation and no windows (except the patio doors in the rooms but we could not open them and even if we could they would have been a huge safety hazard as they opened to a 10-meter drop without any railings);
The walls were paper thin and we could here everything going on around us;
Many items were not functional, like the fan in the room to the right, the shades in the room to the left, and the washing machine (we tried to do two washing cycles and two draining cycles and the clothes were still completely soaked and coated with soap).
We also did not appreciate being forced to pay additional fees upon arrival: the $30 euros for « check-in service » and the $110 euros « tax ». These additional amounts were not mentioned when we booked on Expedia.ca and they feel more like scams than anything else.
