Woodpecker offers stylish single story family friendly accommodation, in the countryside close to the north Norfolk coast. The barn conversion has lofty beamed ceilings and a bright open living space. Perfect for guests of all ages, the cottage has French doors and a private patio with direct access to extensive fenced gardens where children can run and play. You'll find plenty to do on site, including taking a dip in the luxury indoor heated pool, tennis or activities in the games room.

Woodpecker has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen dining & living space with comfy sofas and a Smart TV with access to Netflix etc. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with storage space in the wardrobes and a small ensuite shower room with W.C and hand basin. The cosy twin bedroom has a two 3ft single beds and storage space. The third bedroom has a 3ft single bed or space for a travel cot plus storage in the wardrobe. There's a family bathroom with a bath and over bath shower, handbasin & WC. Fluffy white hand and bath towels and handmade hospitality soap is provided for guest use. The home from home kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of cupboard & worktop space, ideal for whipping up family meals and picnics. Appliances include a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Cupboards and drawers are stocked with cutlery, crockery glasses pans and oven trays. There is also a toaster, Tassimo coffee machine and cafetiere and tea towels and oven gloves are provided.

Outside you'll find a private patio and fenced garden with a gate and direct access to the shared gardens and play areas. The patio is equipped with a charcoal barbecue and garden furniture ideal for informal al fresco dining. The gardens are East facing and an ideal spot for a sundowner, as the sun sets at the end of a busy day exploring the Norfolk coast. There is plenty of private parking and E.V. charging available onsite.

Norfolk getaway

We had a short break in this lovely cottage. The area is very near several places of interest and beaches e.g. trip to see the seals, Sandringham and several lovely little towns like Burnham Market, where we had a lovely meal in No. Twenty9 bar and restaurant. The staff at Cranmer Country Cottages were always helpful and the swimming pool lovely. Our 3 year old grandson enjoyed spending time in the Playroom.

Lovely relaxing stay, with beautiful countryside at our finger tips

Staying in woodpecker was relaxing and enjoyable. Having access to a games room and pool for my kids was amazing. If they had their way, they would’ve been in the pool every day for many hours. It was lovely being able to have the pool to ourselves so it did not restrict us by impeding on anyone else else’s Swim. As we are all keen swimmers for us more access to the pool for longer periods would have made it fantastic for us and we weren’t aware at the time of booking that it was bookable sessions only. Thankfully, the owners did their best in booking us as many sessions that were available. Location of woodpecker was very easy and accessible to the sea, pubs and lovely scenery. Having access to a very large open area to play frisbee, football, bowls and stargazing at night was an added bonus. Being out in the country there’s always little friends (ants) that make their way into join you but was provided with bait traps to put down and these luckily worked. On arrival and in going to use items in the kitchen, these items were needed to be cleaned but this didn’t impact on the enjoyable time spent there. We did thoroughly enjoy staying at Woodpecker and would be thrilled to return.

Weekend away with extended family

The layout of Cranmer cottages was perfect for a multi generational stay. The cottages individual back gardens backed onto a large grassed play area which was spacious and safe for the children to play on. The pool was also popular for us all to have fun in together. Communication with this company during the booking process was great. These cottages are a perfect base for exploring North Norfolk. The only constructive criticism was the radiator in our bathroom was stuck on high, which did add to the heat of an already hot weekend.

The converted barns and cottages at Cranmer offer a chance for families to wind down and spend time together enjoying the superb onsite facilities, whilst giving the car a rest! The cluster of properties are perfectly located close to some of the best beaches on the North Norfolk coast whilst nestling in a beautiful rural location. The holiday barns share a fabulous luxury indoor heated pool, two all-weather tennis courts an indoor heated games room and easy access to safe outdoor space from the doorstep. There is the option to share holidays with extended family or friend whilst still having ones own front door by hiring several or all of the properties at once. For cycling enthusiasts there are some great local cycle routes along the quiet back roads all the way to the beach at Holkham.
The whole site has great eco credentials along with several E.V charging points for guests travelling in electric vehicles.
Owners Chris & Becci live onsite. There is a small team of enthusiastic and friendly staff around during the week to help with local knowledge and advice and to help guests get the most out of their stay.
