Enjoyed our stay, really cool spot, lots of stairs which we had no problem with. Close to a convenience store, suited the needs of our family and would stay again.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
This property is in need of repair and we checked out after first night stay. Upstairs bedroom has broken window, thus unable to open to get airflow which is much needed if you plan to sleep in the third floor bedroom. With no airflow and a shower on third floor it causes much humidity. Bathroom sink does not drain, thereâs a broken bathroom floor tile Shower grout needs a decent cleaning. We respectfully asked to be refunded for the remaining two nights we paid for, but received no contact from owner upon sending a message about our disappointment.
Its a cute property - in need of TLC. Remembering that this is likely a very old property - kept us in a state of accepting that things were less than ideal. Its a great location, near underground / transit options to access the airport and city. Near nightlife, restaurants, etc.. But also a very lively neighborhood - think noise late in the evenings potential. We had had to notify the owner that there was water running down the wall of the bedroom on the first day in the unit. The response was "that likely some caulking had come loose on the upstairs bathroom" - alluding that this was a repeating known issue - but hadn't yet been addressed. Likely what wasn't visible was mold growing in the walls, and henceforth causing our health issues. Host was responsive when we reached out. Home sits above a delicious Fish & Chips restaurant... but this comes with a smell of hot frying oil in the home.
The locaafion this property is excellent - central soho - and up to our stay the communication with th host was good. However, I have a catalogue of concerns which although I have addressed with the host, no response has been received. 1) You collect the keys from a 24 hr shop about a 5 minute walk away. Plan accordingly especially if you have lots of cases.2) The property was not ready at 3 pm - it was still being cleaned. We had to wait in a local cafe. No apology offered.3) 5 guests - 4 towels. They added more when we asked but this was a basic oversight.4) loud drilling next door at 1 am - remarkably they stopped when we shouted out of the window. 5) When the upstairs shower was being used, it leaked onto the bed below. On closer inspection it seems this is an old and common problem caused by cracked tiles outside the shower area covered by many rugs. It certainly is not a new problem judging by the water stains on the wall in the bedroom below. 6) Many windows are locked and others have bars over the windows. Fire regulations are sketchy. With only one exit, a fire could be catastrophic. 7) At the end of the stay we were told to leave our trash at the city bins opposite - not sure this is totally legal and we felt very uncomfortable doing this as fly tipping rules in England carry a heavy fine.8) Key drop off was in a different place (we only found this out when we tried to drop the key off where we picked it up. There was no notice of this - very inconvenient.
It was an old three story town house .
Narrow stairs to the bedrooms .
Everything needs some TLC.
Location is incredible.
It is a great place to sleep with a group of friends or family with older children.
Location is what it is about .
