The Edinburgh Address welcomes you to The Gait @ Hill Square Suites, a sublime apartment, blending a unique historic setting with modern comfort and amenities.

This spacious apartment can host up to 8 adults across four generously sized bedrooms, and up to 2 children on roll-out beds. The property features elegant high ceilings and modern conveniences. Just minutes walk from museums, attractions, restaurants, bars, and the University of Edinburgh.

The apartment's well-appointed lounge offers a welcoming space for relaxing and socialising. Adjacent to the lounge, the fully-equipped kitchen and dining area make home-cooked meals and entertaining effortless.

Guests at The Gait @ Hill Square Suites can enjoy exclusive on-site amenities just a stone's throw from the property. Start your day with a delicious breakfast, indulge in a tasty lunch, or relax with bar services available throughout the day. For a duvet day, room service is also available. Additionally, guests can stay active at the on-site gym.

The Gait is the perfect base for a corporate group, as guests can make use of the hotel's facilities as well as the spacious self catered home.

The apartment is checked daily by our housekeeping team, with fresh towels and toiletries available whenever required.

Did you know.... The name of our apartment is based on a horsey theme as the Playfair Building (the college’s flagship building) was built on the site of a former riding stables.

The Edinburgh Address Ltd manages bookings on behalf of the Property Owner. The property owner provides the accommodation.

Booking Requirements -
One member of the booking party must be over 25 years. We require names and ages of all guests, as well as proof of address and ID of the lead guest. This is required within 2 days of booking.
We will require the lead guest to sign a copy of our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to vet any booking.

This property is protected by Truvi (previously known as SuperHog), the digital trust platform that enables Hosts, Operators and Guests to confidently transact in the short-term rentals space.
Please note that once you have booked, you will be contacted by Truvi directly to verify yourself and process a £500 deposit or £35 damage waiver. The damage deposit pre-authorisation will incur a £10 fee. This Truvi verification must be completed two weeks prior to check-in.

Set over the ground floor and lower ground level, The Gait @ Hill Square Suites offers four bedrooms, each featuring a luxurious super king-sized bed that can be tailored to suit your preference as a double or twin arrangement.

Situated in Edinburgh's city centre, (The Historic Old Town) The Gait @ Hill Square Suites provides a peaceful retreat whilst being just a short distance from major tourist attractions and the vibrant city centre. Nearby local shops offer convenient access to essential amenities. Further, Edinburgh Fringe Festival's central Underbelly locations George Square and Bristo Square are a 5 minute walk from the property. For corporate guests, business locations such as the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and many office spaces are a 25 minute walk through Edinburgh's leafy Meadows area, or a quick taxi drive away. The Gait is also the perfect location for Edinburgh University, Napier University, Edinburgh College of Art, and Herriot Watt University, for parents visiting their adult children, attending graduations, and helping with the move. This is the perfect city centre location for all guests.

The Gait is located in central Edinburgh, within walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions. The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, National Museum of Scotland, and Princes Street are all nearby, making it an ideal base for visitors wanting to explore the city on foot.

Great large apartment for a family of 8. Well appointed with everything you would need and very clean. We enjoyed the close proximity (walkable) to all the things we wanted to see in Edinburgh as well as some great coffee shops. Great staff as well. We would definitely stay there again!

We loved this apartment- it was perfect for our family of 7. Short walk to the Royal Mile, and grocery store nearby. We were able to park our cars in the private lot. The convenience of the hotel for breakfast was a big plus as well. Very easy check in. Just be careful with the steep steps down to bedrooms!

The Gait is in a perfect location for a large group in Edinburgh. The place is well kept, very spacious, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The check in and check out process was extremely efficient.

Great place to stay

This flat was a great place to stay. There was always great communication and the space was amazing! Anytime I had questions (which were a lot) they were always responsive. The location and proximity to things were also excellent. I would highly recommend to stay here.

Lovely Property

All three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Edinburgh flat. The size of the rooms and the character of the property were just a couple of the outstanding features but more importantly, the level of service we received from start to finish was top notch. Also location was perfect. Highly recommend!

Three Generation Family Vacation

This apartment worked out really well for my family trip to Edinburgh. We had 3 generations, totaling 8 family members and we had enough space for all of us. The host accommodated our bed needs and communicated promptly. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The stairs are a little wonky but we were just extra careful going up and down. We appreciated that the lights in the living room all had USB ports for charging. There were plenty of towels for everyone. The shared bathrooms are nice and they have towel warmers! One interesting thing about the apartment is that is affiliated with the hotel across the street. I did not realize we would get house keeping and could order room service (we did not, so I can’t say anything about that). The location was quiet and the one incident we had was promptly taken care of by the hotel staff. My sister and her husband went to the hotel breakfast buffet one morning and enjoyed it. One cool thing was that on Wednesday night the Surgeons’ Hall was having a formal dinner, there was a bagpiper at the entrance and we could hear him play from the apartment. We walked everywhere, except for my 87 year old father who took a taxi up to Edinburgh Castle. The hotel called for a pick-up for him. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.
