Overall it was a very good experience. My only suggestions would be a better heating system, and a tv in the bedroom.

Great location, but house needs maintenance.

We loved the location, but there were things about the property that need repair. The drain in the sink of the only bathroom was stuck down, I could manually lift it about 1/8" to let it drain very slowly. That needs to be repaired. Also, the door handle on the door for the master bedroom was loosely attached. It came off if you pulled on it from either side. In addition, the house is heated by individual room heaters and this time of year the temps were in the 30s. All but one heater was off and the one that was on was set to 50 degrees. The house was FREEZING when we checked-in and the first night's sleep was VERY cold. All heaters needed to run for about 12-18 hours to get the house back up to a reasonable temperature inside.

Not the Ritz, great spot great price

Walking distance to everything, clean sheets/towels. Like visiting grandmas beach house. Nothing fancy here, you get what you pay for, overall good value we would stay here again

Loved it!

I loved how close it was to the beach, they had everything we needed pretty much, I wish there was a dryer for clothes or maybe bigger skillets for cooking but we loved it!

Great little place for the price

Very affordable. Completely adequate. One of the dining chairs was broken when we arrived and we had to call to have the cable fixed so my brother in law could watch the civil war football. But someone came right away so it all worked out fine.

Cozy and functional

This was a great place to spend a few days with our family and pops, close to the beach and close to all of Rockaway Beach’s stores and eateries. Minimalistic, but cozy.

We arrived at 4:30 a half hour after check in to be told by the cleaner that it wouldn’t be ready for another 20 minutes. We come back later in the evening and the floor is sticky and sandy, there are short and curly hairs on the toilet, the master bed has dog hair and sand all in the bedding. We ended up just sleeping on top of the bedding provided. The towels had dog hair all over them. The kitchen bowls provided had green powder residue all over on them and smelled horribly of marijuana. The tv worked occasionally most of the time it said check cable connection and after a few times of turning it off and on then it would work again. Master bedroom mattress is hard as a rock!! But honestly location is great! And you can’t fault the owners for the cleaning teams downfalls. I would definitely not rent it again just for the fact that it was filthy! Dog hair I understand because it’s pet friendly but the sand in all the bedding was unacceptable. I felt like they just re made the beds after the last ppl left and didn’t change the bedding.

Very Disappointing

This is the first bad review I have left on Vrbo. Of all my bookings, I have always been satisfied, and even overjoyed in certain locations. But this was not at all good. Besides the misleading post regarding this property the pictures are also a bit misleading as well. It seems as if the electric is not able to handle to needs. The heating seems a bit of a fire Hazzard. There is no vent or fan system for the stove top/ oven. There are a few other details about the house and surroundings, but its just easier to say, don't book this one. I really wish I could get my money back. The house darn near ruined my Mother's day weekend. 😞

Not too bad

The location and the price of the unit was great! The unit itself definitely needs some upkeep. The sinks all were leaking and no water pressure. For a unit that also accommodates 8 people, the hot water in the shower only lasts 10 minutes and you will definitely need to stagger showers. The master bed needs to be replaced as the mattress is completely flat and indented. We definitely made the most of our stay especially since it rained most of the 7 days we rented the unit. There needs to also be some signs about other tenants with dogs as they didn’t pick up their dog’s poop on the community yard. Other than a few upgrades to the unit, again, the location and price was great.

Excellent location

I'd like to say that it was nice except the floor/ceiling is very thin and we could hear every single word the people above us said as if they were in the same room with us and every step they took that goes throughout our entire space all through the day and night which kept us up a few nights and was irritating during the day a bit. But the location close to the beach was very nice and it had everything we needed. Also, there was always a place for us to park in front. As an aside, the bathroom door knob was broke so the door wouldn't close all the way and the bedroom mattress is really uncomfortable but other than that it was a decent stay.

Good for single family

This is a decent option for a single family. If you have more then 2 adults, I wouldn’t recommend. The bunk beds are great for the kids! Not so much for adults. The futon is not very comfy to sleep on. Haha One thing we were not aware of, is that there is a rental upstairs and on the backside of the house. Not the end of the world, but you can hear a lot from the upstairs guest. The house is older, and could definitely use some updating. I would recommend bringing a fan, the rooms get a little warm, not horrible but they do. And not very many windows open for airflow. If you plan on spending most your time on the beach, it’s not a bad option. It is a quick walk and you’re on the beach. It is pretty well located also. Close to the grocery store, restaurants, etc. we walked everywhere all weekend, did not need our vehicle.

Nice place, good for sleeping

Great location and spacious enough for seven people to stay here. We had a little trouble with the microwave failing to work after using it any longer than 10 minutes at a time. Owner came and replaced microwave very quickly, but the next microwave failed too after using to heat up a 5-minute dish. Probably bad electrical wiring in home. You just have to wait awhile between usages. That's kind of hard with seven people to feed, but overall we worked it out. We've stayed here before, and its great...this time some other tenants across the courtyard were sitting out in the courtyard the entire time (four days) smoking dope, not fun to have to walk through with my kids. Other than that, we had a good, quiet sleep.

You get what you pay for..

The location was great, very close to the beach access and the retail strip. The housekeeping was lacking, but you get what you pay for. Check in/check out was easy. Lots of room to spread out. It’s an older house, turned into a multi dwelling building, which was likely thrown together without real quality work done. I suspect mold, but it’s pretty much expected in a climate like this. All in all, I would say keep your expectations realistic when visiting this rental. You pay for the beauty outdoors.

It was perfect for our needs!

We stayed her for a girls’s getaway weekend and it was lovely! So close to the beach and lots of fun shops and restaurants. I only wish the TV had had either a DVD player or some kind of streaming service. We wanted to watch a movie on that big screen after a long day of playing on the beach, but the only option was cable TV and we didn’t think to bring cables to hook up our laptops to the TV. So we ended up watching movies on our laptop screen with the huge TV sitting like a useless backdrop behind it. That felt pretty silly. You pay a fee to cover the expense of a cleaning crew coming in after you, but I think I would rather have just cleaned the place myself and skipped the fee. It wasn’t very clean when we got there, so their cleaning crew doesn’t seem to be doing that much anyway. But the beds were clean and tidy, which is what matters most. Overall, a pretty good experience and an excellent location!

The bed makes it awful

Our visit started...off. The unit wasnt ready for 2 added hours due to covid cleaning (6pm) which we were told about 1 day before our arrival. Ok, could have let us know sooner but fine. Then the day of check in messages were all back to 4pm?? I couldn't get ahold of anyone to clarify and we showed up at 5:45 to the cleaners finishing up. I wasnt thrilled with the cleanliness (especially with thr 2hr delay). We found stashes of random food in odd locations thru the unit (granola bars behind the tv???). Floors were gritty with sand and odd trash on the bathroom floor. My guess is the focus was on dishes and counters which were very clean. The queen bed is HARD AS A ROCK. Like a 3inch firm mattress pad at best. It sucked so bad my husband slept on the futon. **This alone is enough for us to not come back to the Dolphin.** We would absolutely come back otherwise. Kitchen is decently stocked with cookware, serveware and soap, sponge, dish detergent. But there was no soap/shampoo or conditioner in the bathroom and not enough toilet paper for 5 people for 4 days, so we had to go buy our own. That is something people are gonna need to have when staying in a rental. I don't know if they just forgot or what. There were also no house instructions, had to hunt to take out the trash. My kids loved the bunk beds, wifi worked great (bonus since the weather sucked 3/4 days) and the location was awesome with several take out restaurants and food trucks within walking distance
