These guests arrived 2 and 1/2 hours early before the approved arrival time and started unloading their belongings while the cleaner was still cleaning the unit. They stated to the cleaner that I gave them permission for an early arrival which was absolutely not true. This of course upset the cleaner: First - that they were there while she was cleaning, and Second - for them telling her that I "approved" an early arrival and I never told her, (no early arrival ever was ever given), and their statement was deceitful. As they stated, I did contact them shortly after my cleaner alerted me regarding their early arrival and restated the approved arrival time, they never responded back to me during their entire stay. They also proceeded to re-arrange the furniture to suit their needs, moving couches, recliner chairs, stools, etc. They did what they wanted to do and it appears they were not concerned with anything else regarding house rules along with not being truthful in their dealing with the cleaner or host.

A lot of your concerns have been addressed to the cleaner/caretaker and they assured me they will definitely be taken care of immediately so other would have a more pleasurable say. Thank you for your review.

I'm sure every host gets one guest like this which is very sad. I am a Premier Host with VRBO and people will have to read my many other positive reviews to determine the quality of the listing. These were very difficult guests who ran over our outside fire pit and I guess this is their rebuttal for me not to charge them. I did not charge them for the fire pit. To address some of these complaints, I will try. The TV has Comcast cable along with an Amazon Firestick which has Disney+, Starz and many other channels. There are buttons to push on all the TV's, Players and on the remotes. Wifi is 1000 mpbs. This guest showed me what he thought were mouse droppings in a bedroom drawer; which were actually tiny dried flower seeds that someone (perhaps allergic to my decorations) had put in the dresser drawer. There was no evidence of droppings anywhere. There is a mix of all cotton and of all polly sheets ~ All smoke/mono detectors are and were in perfect working order ~ all box tissues, paper products, etc. are stored in accessible closets/cabinets ~there is a Keurig along with a drip coffee maker that has an on off switch ~ we do not have wall to wall carpet in the bath, there is one large shower mat which is adequate for the small bath ~ the more I read his complaints, the more I had to laugh as there is no pleasing some folks no matter how hard you try. We did have to lock all of our out buildings due to concern after they stated that their son was interested in an antique car in our garage that was not accessible to guests nor part of the rental. They came when the weather was very cold and rainy and I guess this added to their displeasure.

To clarify your review. The Barn does not share parking with the church lot. There is a convenient private parking spot right next to the Barn for our guests along with parking on our grounds in front of the Barn for at least two additional cars. If more parking is required (which has never happened), the church is gracious enough that they would allow us to park in their lot. It was a pleasure having you and hope to see you again in the future. Glad you had a pleasant stay even if it was during an extremely unusual rainy July.

We do try to make our guests feel completely comfortable in the Barn as you can see by many past reviews. Shower bars are to be installed per your suggestion and the cleaners will thoroughly dispose of any outdated dry goods. You came at a very rainy muddy week so that could account for your socks. The Town of Bennington is in the process of installing brand new water pipes to this area and should be completed in mid-April. This will alleviate any and all water pressure problems.
