We stayed for the July 4 week in this home. It was very clean and well stocked. The best feature was the easy access to the lake -- a small beach is at the end of the driveway. It was nice to be able to view the fireworks without having to drive or boat to a viewing location -- just a minute's walk to the water!
Excellent location, just off the lake where you can launch kayaks and SUPs. Super clean. Fit 6 adults comfortably. The deck is a huge positive to the space - we enjoyed eating all our meals out there, a great space for gathering. The public boat launch for use is a few miles away. Would return to stay again.
We loved the property. The deck is spacious, with nice comfortable furniture and well designed fencing. Our old dog loved laying outside all day, and I loved sitting outside with her, enjoying the trees and the view. We relaxed while my husband enjoyed golfing at nearby Bailey Creek golf course or fishing at Hamilton Branch. The hosts were responsive and friendly. And the house was perfect for our needs, with a well stocked kitchen. We will definitely return!
The cabin is as described with a lovely view of the lake and easy beach access. The accommodations were comfortable, clean and cozy and the location was awesome - quiet with really nice neighbors. We spent most of our time paddle boarding, boating, or reading while enjoying the beautiful view. Like other reviewers have said, the beach is rocky (mostly volcanic) so bring water shoes and with no dock access, inner tubes etc. were nice to have on hand.
Wonderful house and very convenient. There is access to the beach down a driveway but it isn't one you would want to spend time on. Limited seating space and lots of rocks. We couldn't use the neighbor's docks.
This is the most perfect place for dogs and kids!!! The house was prefect. That fenced patio and fenced side yard was everything for my pets to enjoy and not excape. We did not want to leave!!! The owners where so accommodating and quick to respond when we asked questions. I am so thankful we found this gem! We got to spend 5 wonderful days with my husband while he worked in Greenville. It was much needed family time.
felt like home. TLC...every amenity. kitchen tools well stocked. bathroom nice towels. (shampoo conditioner as well) 50 yards easy walk to lake almanor beach. Beach chairs if you don't have your own. home/owners share their tender loving care of their home with us...hope you leave the home in the same TLC way when you leave. awesome fenced in deck and dog run provided secure and roomy hang out for all of us...children and dogs roamed freely...providing more freedom for us... adults ;) pricey but worth every $
I've rented this home about 5 times, usually for the July 4 holiday week. It is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The access to the beach at the bottom of the driveway is very convenient. The hosts are very accommodating and even let us clip some of the lavender, mint, and chamomile from the yard for us to take home.
We've stayed at the cabin before with family - love the location on Big Springs with access to the lake. Although the lake was very low, we enjoyed our lake time. We do cook alot, the fact that the cook top has only two burners to actually cook on it would be better with another cook top. No dishwasher makes it a little more work in the kitchen, but we manage. Beds are all great, linens are also very nice. Love the deck and all the rod iron fencing around it - great for keeping your smaller children safe if you have children that age. A big plus is pets are allowed, so the fencing is also a plus to keep your pet safe. Although our trip was cut short due to the Dixie fire, we enjoyed the time we had there.
We loved having our coffee on the deck viewing the beautiful lake! The Cabin has that feeling of being nestled in the woods, but is still close enough to the local market and a lovely wide open beach .
Wonderful house, able to safely leave the kayaks on the beach. The air conditioning in August was a big plus, good beds and sleeping. We did not have a dog the whole time but it was certainly nice to have an occassional dog when my son visited. This was a 3-sisters reunion, one had 6 hours travel and the other 4 hours. We had a wonderful time, even with limited restaurants (Covid). Very clean. Thanks, hope to return !!!
We had freshly cleaned carpet which was still a little wet. The TV didn't work as there were a couple electrical issues going on.
The owner was very prompt in addressing our needs. The beach is rocky for sure with no dock accessibility. Not having the authority to use any of the nearby docks was kind of discouraging for the grandchildren with us. They however, made great use of their paddleboards. The water was wonderful as was the view. The neighborhood was very quiet and a great place to walk our Corgi dog.
We had a great time. The beds were comfy the deck is great!. I am glad that we weren't trying to cook for 6 people in this kitchen with only two burners and very limited pans.
The AC was insufficient to keep the temperature below 80* inside the cabin during the day. Luckily there are plenty of great places nearby to visit. The kitchen was not well equipped with only 2 small frying pans so cooking was a challenge. The beds were very nice and it is great that they allow pets. The deck area is gated so we could share the great outdoors with our dogs and not have to worry about them wandering off. I don't know why they did not credit back the pet deposit immediately after our stay. It took them 6 days to process.
Our family had a wonderful time here in July 2018. The access to the lake is excellent and those who want to sit under a covered deck could still see the water fun. The house was comfortable, with enough space for our family and adequately supplied for cooking.
Our first time to Lake Almanor and what a wonderful experience. The cabin was clean, well stocked with comfortable beds, sheets, comforters, pillows and soft towels. The lake view from the front deck and front facing windows was beautiful. The landscape was pretty with lots of blooming flowers. We saw multiple deer and a doe that even walked right up the driveway and passed us while we were sitting out on the deck. We even saw a very rare sight of two young bucks still in the velvet. We had ample parking for our two trucks and boat trailer. Grocery store close by. Things to be aware of, beach is rocky, no dock or mooring access, boat launch had no where to park and was a 6 minute drive from cabin. Not a problem for us as we ended up renting a slip at Knotty Pine Marina with full service. Calm in mornings and gets a bit windy in afternoon. All in all, a great experience for rookie Almanoreans traveling from Southern California. đ
We had a fantastic weekend. The house was very comfortable and the location so close to the lake was a bonus. The views from the deck were great and we would definitely stay again.
