Very Nice Place

This top floor flat is very nicely and comfortably furnished, with a great view from the large balcony, and a nice large park right across the way. Quite close to food stores, restaurants/cafes, and underground/train/bus stations, and with a very helpful host!

Close to transportation and a good place for nice weather

I only have minor reservations. I emphasize the good weather because there’s no clothes dryer, but warm weather does the trick fairly quickly. 2 minor things about the kitchen-the knives are very dull, so you have to be very careful using them, and the frying pan could use a lid. Still recommended- there’s a lot of great stuff within walking distance, and several bus lines operate at the tube station only moments away.

Thank you for your feedback – I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and it was really great to host you, Paul. You're absolutely right about the good weather being helpful for drying clothes. Like many one-bedroom UK apartments (especially in London), I don’t have a tumble dryer (as advertised), but I do provide clothes horses, and thanks to the consistently warm temperature in the apartment, clothes tend to dry overnight with ease. Regarding the kitchen, I can confirm the frying pan does not have a lid, but all the saucepans do, which I hope helped in the meantime. I’ll also take a look at the knives – thank you for pointing that out. While I always do my best to accommodate individual preferences and provided quite a bit of tailored information before and during your stay, I was a little surprised there was no acknowledgement of this. Also, it would have been helpful to have had some openness about the damage to the shower head, as I like to keep everything in top condition for all guests. That said, I’m really glad you enjoyed the location and nearby amenities – it truly is a great spot for getting around and making the most of the area! Warm wishes

An Awesome Stay

This lovely apartment in Vauxhall was a perfect retreat after busy days in London. The underground is 5 minutes away, making access to the entire city so easy. Paul is a gracious host, always available if you have any questions. The apartment is quite comfortable, equipped with all the essentials. We loved the neighborhood, lots of great ethnic restaurants, lovely river walks and easy grocery shopping.our weeks stay was a delight.

Paul is an excellent host, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and his communication was second to none. Easy to follow instructions to get into the apartment, and we were greeted with a lovely bottle of red and nice chocolate on the table. Had some minor issues along the way, and Paul was able to (or taking action to) get them sorted ASAP. The apartment is in an excellent location, good nightlife if that’s your thing - not ours particularly, but meant we always felt safe walking back from the (very close) bus station even quite late at night, and is maybe 10-15 mins brisk walk from places like Tate Britain and Westminster. Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and decent pubs all within a few minutes walk. Lovely little garden balcony looks out over Vauxhall gardens, and a bit further gives a nice view of the night skyline. Our one “negative” is that there could have been a bit more storage space, there is a set of drawers and a clothes rack in one corner, but no real space to store cases, and no space aside from the limited bench space to store non refrigerated food. But would highly recommend both Paul as host and his apartment - and we’d happily stay again if we make another trip to London.

Wonderful apartment

This property is clean, and large, compared to other locations Ive rented. It had everything you’d need for a successful trip. Paul sends lots of information about the apartment and the Vauxhall area around the apartment. The apartment is on the top floor with an AMAZING patio to put your feet up after a long day of sightseeing. Enjoy a beautiful sunset, and the park down below. The apartment is close to every form of public transportation as well.

Wow! Great place and Great Location

What a nice place in a great location to see all of London. One reason, I reserved this place was because of the good reviews about Paul our Host and he did not disappoint. You can’t go wrong with this place. Great safe location, close to transportation hubs, restaurants, and popular tourist locations. Very easy to get anywhere from this location. Home and accommodations were very nice and offered a great quiet place for us to relax after a day of sight-seeing. Great views as well. We took some great nighttime photo’s, from the penthouse and plan to have the picture framed to remember the trip. When I come back to London, I am staying here.

Perfect flat in a great location!

I can't say enough positive things about this flat and host! From pre-booking on through to checking out, Paul was super responsive and so very helpful. The location is superb being only 5 min walk to the tube and bus station as well as having quick access to the river walk along the south bank. The flat offers all amenities needed for a home away from home stay and Paul provides an amazing amount of help and information for navigating London. Be sure to also check out The Tea House Theater just over the other side of the park for great desserts in a cozy atmosphere!

Lovely property near transport hub, bars/restaurants, shopping and attractions.

My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights. Communication with our host, Paul, was outstanding from booking through the end of our stay and we were provided with a comprehensive arrival guide upon booking. Getting to the apartment was very easy via the tube from Heathrow and the apartment is only a 3 minute walk from Vauxhall Station.The apartment was very tidy and well appointed containing all necessary appliances and conveniences and felt cozy without feeling cramped. The kitchen was completely adequate with a four place hob, oven and everything required to cook and serve meals. The building in which the apartment is situated is controlled access and the private terrace overlooks Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens and offers great cityscape views. There are dozens of restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as at least three grocery stores including a Tesco Supercenter.The proximity to Vauxhall station allows you to travel quickly around town with most major attractions less than 30 minutes away door-to-door. Tate Britain is about a 15 minute walk via the Vauxhall Bridge and a return via Lambeth Bridge allows views of the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben.Overall, this property and host are both outstanding, highly recommended.

Lovely Apartment / Great Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paul’s lovely flat. The location was perfect. It is located by the Pleasure Gardens, which are nice to stroll through, and is central to the vibrant local neighborhood with various restaurant and pub options, plus nearby grocery stores. Additionally, it is a short 5-minute or less walk to the Underground and train station. This made it very convenient to travel anywhere in London. The flat was clean, cozy, and inviting, with everything you might need and more. We loved coming back to the flat to relax after a long day. We also enjoyed the terrace overlooking the park with great views of the city. Paul provided lots of information about the local area and recommendations for London. Communication was great! I would highly recommend staying at Paul’s for your trip to London.

The Owner was Incredibly Helpful

Not only did the apartment meet our expectations, but it exceeded them. The introduction information including directions, maps, manuals, etc. simplified every experience. We felt like we were coming home after each long day of being a tourist. It was comfortable, attractive, and had a breathtaking view. The owner gave us excellent suggestions regarding recommended pubs, sights, and directions. The neighborhood, Vauxhall restaurants, and park below were full of families from a wide variety of cultures. It always felt very safe. Train, buses, and the underground were only a block away. Perfect!

Ants & Personality Swing of Owner

The location of the property was pretty good, as advertised - easy to get to the Tube, Buses, etc. However, the apartment has an ANT issue. I have written correspondence (WhatsApp) proving that he confirmed he has problem with ants every year because of the greenery he has on his terrace. My wife even stopped watching TV on the only seating in the small living room area because she kept finding ants on her. Mind you, I was just letting him know - I NEVER asked for a refund or any form of compensation. Again, he confirmed that he's aware of the problem and asked for pictures. I sent several pictures of ants in several different locations around the kitchen and eating area. I also confirmed that we barely ate there and what snacks we occasionally ate were kept in the refrigerator and the counters were always cleaned. When he saw the pictures, he wrote back apologizing again and offering a refund on one of the days and I gladly accepted and told him that I really appreciated that. However, about 9 days after we returned home I realized that I had never received this refund he offered. When I wrote him asking if he was still sending the refund, the response I received from him was like I was speaking to an entirely different person. Now he completely denied having an ant problem, accused me of "blackmailing" him (again, I never asked for anything from him), and said VRBO would never post my review even if I posted one. Strange gentleman, indeed.

These guests were unfortunately callous and calculating. There was never an ant problem (infestation of ants ) which was confirmed on my return and all my other guests before and after that have given me a 5 star rating, they all never had this issue. There one or two ants they saw they took pictures off that had come in from the large terrace, the situation was seriously over exaggerated and played. But I originally did offer a partial refund as any good host would and good will but then they sending me several WhatsApp messages asking where the refund was and how this could affect the review they would. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone would beckon to such blackmail. My home is free of ants and has always has been and since this fabricated incident I have recently professionally treated my home just in case and for for due diligence . When you treat guests with upmost kindness and respect and when such guests they playing with your review to get money, I find this the most disappointing of human traits.

Vauxhall is one of the most cosmopolitan areas of London as I like that people are really across ta wide socioeconomic scale, so everybody feels inclusive. I live in the park so they can not build in front of me, for London that is gold, so I have an amazing few of the park and beyond.

It's my home. So you feel the vibe of a happy modern relaxed home with all the essentials as if you were in your home.
