This stunningly large one bedroom flat is beautifully furnished and fully equipped, offering you the perfect place to call home whilst staying & exploring this vibrant city.
Located close to the British Museum and within walking distance to top attractions such as Oxford Street and Covent Garden, you have all the retail, dining and entertainment opportunities of the West End on your doorstep. Tottenham Court Road, Holborn and Russell Square underground stations are all within easy reach
My daughter and I spent five nights in the flat and enjoyed its space and great location. The rooms were comfortably and attractively furnished and very clean. We walked everywhere but public transportation was readily available. I would stay there again.
Lovely apartment but windows & sills need to be better maintained & screens installed to prevent urban grime from coming in. Mattresses should be upgraded in both sofa sleeper & queen size bed.Pluses are location, kitchen, patio & lovely bathroom. There are substantial & elegant cabinets & shelving in the home but basics as noted above are important improvements that should be made in such a lovely property at this price point. We enjoyed our stay.
This flat was large and a great location for us as London tourists. The owner was immediately reponsive to every question we had. Very clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed the stay very much. The apartment was comfortable and wonderfully located. We often walked to Covent Garden and spent a day right around the corner at the British History Museum. Would definitely stay again!
Location was great, check in was super quick and easy as was communication with the host. Amenities couldâve been better (more towels, paper products and coffee), but overall cute flat.
Great location so close everything we wanted to see and do. The flat is exactly as shown in the photos. This allowed us to have a very nice first trip to London.
The location was perfect for us, as it was easy to make our way around London. The home felt safe and secure and didnât find it too noisy at night. Having the door for the living room served well for creating personal space for our adult daughter so it was like having 2 bedrooms. Communication was prompt and the flat was easily accessible and clean. Would love some higher quality toiletries but everything else that was perfect wouldnât allow for a deduction in ratings. Would be happy to return.
This is a very charming flat. We had everything we needed and the neighborhood is convenient to everything. Being from the USA we werenât familiar with the keybox system and struggled a bit with it. The host answered all our questions promptly. Two thumbs up!!
Overall we had a very successful stay, but there were definitely things that could easily be improved. Starting with the positive. The location is fabulous, only a few minutes walk from Covent garden, seven dials, SoHo and in between two major tube stations! The check in was easy and the apartment lender communicated in a timely manner. The apartment was adorable. The shower pressure was great. The kitchen had everything one would need. There were some negatives. The listing said there would be amenities including soap, shampoo, and conditioner, laundry soap etc. there was one tiny bar of soap and two rolls of toilet paper for 16 nights. No shampoo, no conditioner, no kitchen towels, no laundry soap. There is a washer, but NO dryer, and it was so damp and humid in the apartment our clothing took days and days to dry. We basically couldnât utilize the washing machine. They gave us each one towel for 16 nights. There was no cleaning service for the entire stay. I think once a week or at least midway through would have been nice. The apartment needs a refresh as many of the surfaces are looking worn out including the bedding. The pull out sofa is beyond lumpy and the comforter insert was ratty. The master bedroom needs a bedding refresh as well. The rug in the master bedroom was dirty and needed a good vacuum. The apt is in a basement. The city noise is loud.
We loved the appartment. Large, very comfortable and practical, nicely decorated.
Location is excellent, walking distance to theatres, restaurants and shopping, lots of busses, tube stations nearby.
It was quiet at all hours, no pubs or loud tourists, just the occasional siren.
Highly recommended!!
We enjoyed the location tremendously. We were there for 8 nights. The place was clean. All appliances that we used are in excellent condition. If you expect to cook, youâll have everything needed in terms of utensils and so on. There is very little extra in the kitchen as for spices, and so on. The mattress for the sofa bed in the living room needs to be replaced. Itâs lumpy. I was tired enough to sleep from exploring London, but it leaves a lot to desired. The place is quiet, even with a neighbor above. We did hear a few sirens. They did seem to stop during the night, though.
We stayed for four days at this lovely apartment with our two teenage daughters for sightseeing, shopping and a college visit. The apartment is exactly as described: it is a basement flat in a quiet side street one block away from the British Museum. Within a 20 minute walk all the main sights of central London are easily accessible (and London cabs and Uber are plentiful in the area). The flat is in the basement, so natural light is a bit limited, but it easily makes up for it with its quirky charm and its clever renovation. It is quite luxurious and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen (which we didn't use because of the plentiful dining out options). As previous reviews stated the mattresses in the main bedroom and in the pull-out sofa bed in the living room are a bit thin. The flat is generally very quiet at night, although there is some street noise during the day, based on some interesting acoustics. The location couldn't be anymore perfect, with numerous small restaurants close by. For us, this was a perfect experience to live like Londoners do. Finally, our host Bjorn was incredibly responsive and helpful. Overall, an extremely delightful visit.
My daughter and I stayed here for a week and loved it. It's furnished just like the pictures but itâs bigger than it looks. Bed is very comfortable, sofa bed itâs useful and the kitchen is big and fully stocked. It was very easy to check-in & Out and easy to communicate with owner. The property is walking distance to Chinatown and many good restaurants. Itâs close to tube station and easy to get around all over london. We would highly recommend staying here.
While large, and close to British Museum, there were several negatives mixed with a few positives. First, nice towels and sheets. Visiting in summer meant open windows, which were really, really dirty. Also allowed lots of street noise all night. Glad I had ear plugs. Found jewelry on the bathroom floor and travel documents on the bedroom floor. Manager not responsive and clearly did not care. If you decide to stay, bring your own hair dryer, since the apartment does not have one.
The unit was great! We loved the location as we used the underground daily and it is just a few blocks from 2 stations. We went to several shows and some theaters were within a 15 min walk. The British Museum is right around the corner. There is a small convenient store down the street and a larger store 7 min walk away. We had everything we needed! The only downside of a street level unit in a central location is some street noise from trucks and pedestrians. But being a side street it was minimal.
The decor was as cute as pictured and the bed and sofa pullout were comfortable for us. Kitchen was stocked with essential equipment and nice newer appliances. Large built in cabinets in the bedroom made it easy to unpack and feel settled in.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
So disappointed
Upon arrival you are greeted by the moldy smell. Every time you reentered the apt. it hit you. Bare is the operative word for this property.Bare minimum of everything. We were so happy to find salt. The apt. is a basement apt. (1st floor in UK) and has windows soiled with bird droppings. Old tissues and trash in the mesh wire help obscure the pedestrians walking above you.Threadbare linens.(we found good towels in an obscure drawer the morning we left.Only thin ones in linen closet)No guest book with info on where a grocer etc.might be. If you are taller than 5ft 7" you have to kneel on the floor to use the little mirror in the bedroom to dry your hair after moving the tv. We were too tired the afternoon we arrived or we would have found a hotel. We only had 5 days in London so we held our noses and stayed. We informed Bjorn that we were not happy, never heard a word after he gave us directions to a store. the apt. was freezing when we arrived and took hours to heat up. We did not cook any meals b/c to have enough light you share your meal with the people walking above and the bird droppings. The shower has no safe way to get in and out as the glass door swings both ways and is the only thing to hang onto with the tub being very high. The location is the 1 bright spot. Easy to get everywhere. All in all: dark, dank and bare.
On second day of our stay power went out in bathroom due to leak from above. I had to ask host to bring extension cord to bring a lamp into the bathroom to be able to see after 3 days of darkness & walking around a bucket to catch the dripping water. Took 5 days for plumber to finally fix the leak. Meanwhile, mold had multiplied on bathroom ceiling. Host refused to refund us any portion of our stay stating the leak was not his fault. As for the rest of the flat, mattress needs replacing as you can feel different springs when rolling over. Windows are mostly below street level so you donât get a lot of natural light. You also hear a lot of street noise all night. Living room & kitchen were cozy but I would rent somewhere else for my next stay.
It is a very large and beautifully decorated basement apartment. Noise from traffic and outside. But, you are in a large city and thatâs to be expected. Good restaurants and pubs close by. Easy walk to West End theatres. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a very nice stay in this large, well furnished & centrally located apartment. Apartment was as shown by the pictures. It was spotless clean with a well equipped kitchen & lots of storage space. Street noise was not at all problem in the sleeping room with double glasses - we splept perfectly.
The location of this property - a short block from the British Museum - is ideal for exploring those parts of London most often visited by tourists. The property itself is large, and yes, is in a basement. You do hear noise from the street during the day and early evening, but nothing to interrupt a night's sleep (there are no pubs in the immediate vicinity). It was very clean and when we did have an issue, the property manager responded quickly and was on it. No complaints.
Great apartment for family of four with 2 kids â 10 & under. Location was very walkable to Westminster and central London, amazing food choices, close to British museum (if only we had tickets!). Would stay again!
