The village has a bar and small shops, and there is a wild swimming spot about 10 minutes away on foot. The apartments sit above the local church, accessed by a narrow village road typical of rural Tuscany.
Villetta is part of the Garfagnana region, known for dramatic mountain scenery, forests, river valleys and traditional Tuscan life. It is widely considered the best area in Tuscany for walking, offering gentle woodland paths and more challenging mountain routes.
The region is also known for excellent value restaurants. A typical set lunch with pasta and main-course choices costs around âŹ10â12 including bread, wine and coffee. A traditional multi-course Sunday lunch with wine and liqueurs is usually around âŹ30.
