If you like culture check out the Theatre by The Lake, with award-winning arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater, where you can also hire a rowing boat or even take a dip if you need to cool down. For fun you could try Puzzling Place, a mind-boggling attraction based on optical illusions or the Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world. Or if you want a wild day out, try The Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite being 8 miles away, or The Lakes Distillery offering daily tasting and tours, which is also only 8 miles from the property.
