Lovely complex of cottages in an ideal location with beautiful views down the valley. Clean, good location, well equipped and peaceful. I think weâve found our favourite location in the region.
Beautiful well equipped cottage in quite isolated area
Spotlessly clean cottage in amazing surroundings. It had everything we needed for our 2 night stay and was very comfortable. Lots of extra touches provided by the owner including a tote bag filled with goodies and really appreciated
Spent four nights away with my partner at this lovely, cozy cottage in the Peak district. Great location, still need your own car but a short drive away from Buxton and Bakewell. Hosts left us a nice welcome package upon arrival, we would definitely recommend and stay again in the future if the hosts would have us..
Beautiful quiet location, perfect for walks, and a lovely pub nearby selling amazing food. Also, loved the little honesty shop on site. All in all a lovely, enjoyable stay and would happily return.
They had thought of everything you would have wanted in the accommodation location was great country side right on your door step and not far from Bakewell Buxton etc would stay again
Beautiful location,Amazing views, Cosy and homely cottage. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in the peaks! Thank you again for the amazing stay

Beautiful setting. The cottage was out of this world. Everything to the finer details were catered for. It was very comfortable and spacious. We will definitely be booking again for the summer. 10 out 10.
My husband and I rented Priestley Cottage for five days and invited my sister to join us. We chose the location as we wanted to be close to Buxton for the festival for which we had booked tickets for two evening events. However, we like walking and have visited Derbyshire in the past. This cottage was perfect in every way - quiet, well located and had all we needed. Hazel and Steve were excellent hosts - not intrusive, but extremely helpful. There were welcoming goodies in the cottage and my sister bought some of the local fare to take to relatives in Sheffield. We went twice for lunch at the wonderful Royal Oak - once walked there and back (7km) and once by car in pouring rain. The Packhorse Inn is also to be recommended.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We received a warm welcome in more ways than one, as our property was nice a toasty on arrival. The welcome package which contained milk, butter, tea, coffee, wine and an assortment of treats was up there with some of the best we've had from other places we've stayed.
The property is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so nice and quiet. On a clear night you will get a good look at the stars as there's very little light pollution.
You are not too far away from well known towns like Bakewell and Buxton, which only take about 15 minutes to drive to. Also, popular walks like Mam Tor and the stepping stones in Dovedale are around 25-35 minutes away.
We can recommend both The Royal Oak and Pack Horse Inn pubs that are nearby and walkable. They do great food and local beers.
If you're staying when the farmer's market is in Bakewell, that is also definitely worth a visit.
Overall, the property was clean, well maintained, comfortable and in a lovely location. We would recommend it as a base if you fancy visiting the Peak District.

When you arrive at Wheeldon Trees Cottages you'll know why Steve and Hazel made the purchase - boasting some of the best views in the Peak District as well as stunning country cottages, it really was a no brainer.
