Beautiful & warm family home in stunning location. Close to great hiking trails.

Beautiful 3 bedroom property which has been recently and tastefully decorated to make it the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Skye. The house boasts beautiful scenic views of Flodigarry Island and the mainland of Scotland to the front and the stunning Quairang mountains to the rear. From our cozy snug, you can sit and relax while enjoying the view and hopefully see some of our amazing wildlife. From dolphins, whales and seals to the spectacular White Tailed Sea Eagles and other birds of prey.
After a days hiking and exploring around some of the many local trails and viewpoints, our guests love returning to the warm cozy house to enjoy the beautiful, star filled night sky and hopefully catch the stunning Aurora Borealis (The Northern Lights).

We loved this beautifully restored Skye cottage in Flodigary. The house is clean and cozy. The owners were very friendly and responsive to our questions and the home is well located for local hiking, the Skye museum and other places of interest. Highly recommended.

So amazing

We had such a wonderful stay at this amazing place!!! Dramatically beautiful setting with views in every direction, elegant and comfortable home, fantastic location from which to explore the isle of Skye. We only wish we could have stayed longer!!!

A Skye High

Gavin and Marion, we are nearing the end of our stay at your wonderful home. It is exceeded our expectations.! You have kept the charm and quietness of country life with all the necessary conveniences. We especially love the view over the ocean, and the sheep in the hills are an added bonus. If we ever have the privilege of returning to the aisle of Sky, we would definitely try to book with you again.

Lovely house in a stunning area

Enjoyed the house and the surrounding area. It was a memorable 3 days on this northern area of Isle of Skye. Many bleating little lambs that were a joy to see all around us. Highly recommend staying here instead of in Portree, where we stayed on a previous trip

Astonishingly beautiful location and a wonderful home

This home was exactly as advertised. It's both spacious and cozy, with all the amenities one could hope for. The sitting room with ocean views was especially amazing. We also enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen and the spacious lounge. The property is also a great starting point for walks, hikes and drives around Skye. I hope we can visit again.

Such a lovely house. Clean, toasty-warm and hidden well away from civilisation. The photos really don’t do the place justice - it’s super nice and perfect for our family of four. Would happily return.

Very cosy home, beatifull, clean you have everything you need. We stayed with family during visit to Isle of Skye. The weather is not nice all day raining ,but the house is so cosy , we almost forget or not willing to go out .... Most important the price is very reasonable...Thanks so much for letting us to stay.....

Fabulous house and location and view and……

This house was wonderful and cozy, lots of room for our group of 5. One of the reasons we chose it was the space and comfort given that we wanted to be prepared for a week of rain, however we had a beautiful week and we pleased to see that all of our hikes were close by! It has great access to a lovely coastal hike, Quairng, and the old man of storr. It was an easy drive to Uig and the fairy glens. It is not close to restaurants or good grocery stores so bring what you like to cook and the kitchen is lovely and spacious!

Lovely stay at Altavaig

The photos do not do it justice. It is much nicer than it looks. Especially the view from the wee front room. This turned out to be our favorite. Sitting here and enjoying the view was amazing. The whole house was lovely and warm. There is a huge tv. Outside seating was lovely as well. You can watch the sheep jumping around, while hearing and seeing the waves on the shore of the island opposite. All in alle we definitely would come back.

Loved our stay

We absolutely loved staying here. The house had everything we needed, stunning views and good location to get to the walks and sites we wanted to see. Great for small children with a cot and high chair available, even a stair gate at the top of stairs was very helpful! Everything clean and very comfortable for our 5 night stay. We had 4 adults and a 1 and 2 year old. Loved the fireplace and having meals in the kitchen with the sheep out the window. We didn't even get round to eating in the dining room! The small supply of breakfast food was a lovely surprise. A home away from home. If it wasn't so far away from Australia I'd say we'd be back for sure. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, and making our stay very memorable.

Amazing place

Beautiful building, beautiful location, great price, no hassles, views are insane, neighbors are far. Small things like blackout curtains, towel warmer, and a half-room seemingly dedicated to kicking your feet up with a drink and some tunes in a comfy chair and watching the sun set over the Norwegian Sea. The one downside is that the place was very hard to find. We came in at a weird hour, and it took four tries to find the right place, so we had to bother some people to find it. Gavin and Marion, I know you said the address you gave would give accurate directions on maps apps, but it was differently wrong on gmaps and on Apple Maps. I think “Staffin” shouldn’t be in there maybe? The folks at the hotel next door looked at the address and still sent us to the wrong place. Also would have loved a returned call! The place and price are lovely enough that you still get an easy five stars though, thank you so much! 🙏

Erstes Mal auf der Isle of Skye

Sehr schönes, ruhiges Ferienhaus mit allem was es braucht für Ferien mit Familie und Hund. Das Wetter war traumhaft, um schöne Ausflüge zu unternehmen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.
