There is an unfenced lake, 200 metres from the property.. The Barn is detached, offering four spacious bedrooms, with the master boasting an en-suite and monsoon shower. There is a family bathroom with bath, shower and toilet and a further shower room all located on ground floor. This upside down barn offers a contemporary first floor open plan living/dining/kitchen area and a wood burner, and a second living room with a TV and DVD player. Outside is a private hot tub, barbecue area and courtyard.
Caring for the environment in the most eco-friendly way is at the forefront of this wonderful retreat, from caring for the welfare of the small creatures to the bigger eco picture. Otter Tarn are fully signed up to a higher level environmental scheme and committed to the conservation of the natural habitat. So whether you plan to bird watch, take walks in the private woodland, meet the Belted Galloway cattle or spend a day at the lake fishing (licence required) this is all on your doorstep to be enjoyed!
Exploring the immediate area, Backbarrow is set in the South Lakes peninsula, a perfect base to visit many popular attractions in the Lake District. Just 2 miles down the road is the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, hop aboard and enjoy the stunning landscape as you head into Bowness-on-Windermere. A short drive away is Newby Bridge, home to the Lakes Aquarium and Windermere Lake cruises. A short drive away is the popular priory village of Cartmel, famous for its horse racing weekends, sticky toffee pudding and both a one and two star Michelin star restaurant, as well as many quaint country pubs, making this beautiful village well worth a visit! Beach 5 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1½ miles and restaurant 2 miles.
