Pull back the large bifold patio doors and let the fresh country air fill the lodge, or step outside onto our private decking to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. Three lovely bedrooms offer a tranquil pace to retreat to after days of adventure, with the master including a walk-in wardrobe and luxury en suite shower room, while the open plan living / dining cooking area means there's plenty of space come together whether sharing delicious home-cooked meals or for a movie night curled up in front of the TV.

Great location for doggie walks and scenery. Lovely coffee shop on the front of the lake.

Excellent location with great walks for your four legged friends. Coffee shop to the front of the lake was excellent and nice to get away from all the noise of the city.

Perfect location for exploring S Devon & N Cornwall

We had a perfect week (2 adults, 2 teen boys). Lodge was immaculate. Roomy, airy and comfy throughout. Kitchen well equipped. Secure, quiet and well maintained site. Wi-Fi, TV - all perfect working order. Outside views across meadow, regularly saw deer, owls and hares. Hot tub clean and fully functioning (although didn’t realise till the day before we left that bubbles were adjustable by a dial on the side). Short walk thru a copse to the lakeside, perfect for a sunset stroll or grabbing brunch from the cafe. Gym onsite was a plus (not used by me but my sons inform me it was decent). Small grocers about 10 mins away in Lifton (bit pricey) we had a supermarket van delivery organised prior so would recommend you do this too. Lake activities available, 2 mins drive, we did kayaking and paddle boarding. We found it reasonably priced, well staffed - attentive and informative. Two pubs within a 10 min drive (Clovelly Inn & Village Inn) both decent pub grub with very generous portions, very reasonably priced. Easy access to A30, great for exploring local area but super quiet and relaxed site when you want to chillax at lodge. Would definitely return.

Value for money will be staying again in the sameone

It was value for the money very comfortable easy to find and very peaceful we went in September there alot to do round the area Bodmin jail is worth a visit we will be going back

A short holiday

So when we arrived everything looked clean and tidy, the lodge was very spacious and we enjoyed the out door space too. I feel the beds were slightly uncomfortable and could of done with a better mattress, I Slept and my party slept uneasy throughout the week. There was plenty of facilities in the Lodge which made everything easy to do each day. We enjoyed our stay but the only complain we have was the heating system, we had it set but the heating came on when it wanted to and some days did not come on at all, the last day came on full blast so it did work, this made the stay uncomfortable at times as the lodge was big and it was hard to keep warm, may need a plumber to check this out. Apart from that it was a relaxing stay and we really enjoyed it, the actual park and lakes was amazing, local places of interest close by, thank you.

Lovely place

We felt that the lodge was lovely. Particularly impressed with the double showers and hot tub. Everything we needed the lodge had. If we could offer any advice to enhance the experience it would have been very beneficial to have a little fence and gate at the rear of the property. The park and lodge is dog friendly which is great but we had to tie our dog up for the entire holiday due to no fence or gate which was not particularly nice.

Luxury and comfort in an idyllic location

We loved the layout and decor of the lodge and thought it was really comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub made the stay very special as we were able to use it several times during our stay - a highlight was sitting looking up at the starry sky one night. Paying for towels and robes is recommended as it added a touch of luxury. The site is ideally located, having a very quiet, rural location very near woodland and lakeside walks but within minutes of the A30. Customer service in the run up to our stay was good: we needed to amend our booking which was done easily, and we were kept well informed throughout. The site was not staffed but there were telephone numbers for help in and outside office hours.

A Great Spot, Clean, Cozy Lodge!

We all really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Lodge, was very cozy and a nice size for all of us. The decor through out was fresh and stylish, Kitchen was fully equipped and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The Views were lovely in the morning waking up to the farm animals by the fence, hot tub was well maintained and warm on arrival. Great Dog wash down by the front gate, that was handy to have that there as we hiked every day so we made sure Frank was clean before heading back up to the lodge. Definitely Recommend for a relaxed comfy holiday.

Disappointing

Thel logde was lovely. The place was okay very disappointing it said dog friendly we assume that would be Dog safe but there was no way that you could keep your dogs in. There was no fencing around where you need to security for your animals so very disappointing

I do apologise for any confusion in regards to the rules around pets however. We do understand that this may have been frustrating, however it isn't advertised as being enclosed on any of our platforms. The property itself is pet friendly, however we always ask that they are never left unattended inside or outside of the property as per our house rules, so even if there was a fence they still aren't to be let outside unattended. Relaxing Break

Our Lodge was perfect for a break away and lovely that dogs are welcome too. We really enjoy the open plan living and the view of the sheep in the back field was just lovely. The hot tub was lovely and very clean. Now if you wanted to know where things could be improved then these are my kind suggestions not intended to offend anyone. The Lodge needs a deep clean paying attention to skirting boards and ledges. Shower trims. There’s brown water marks in one of the rooms could be damp related and the bi folding door doesn’t open in the lounge. The white walls are tired and need a lick of paint as marks in every room. However none of the above interrupted our stay. The customer service with booking the lodge was excellent.

Tired

The lodge is in a great location for exploring and had everything you’d need for a good stay. The lodge itself was very tired, the bifold doors were unusable and therefore spoilt the access to the patio. The hot tub was not as clean as I’d expect, at times it had a bad smell. WiFi is poor, useful only for email, cannot be used for kids to stream videos.

Fabulous stay in Lavender Lodge

Stayed for a week in June at Lavender Lodge and had a fabulous week. The site is in a quiet location next to Roadford lake so perfect for a relaxing stay. Grounds were well maintained and loved the dog wash area! The lodge itself is very spacious with a large open plan living area and comfortable sofas, which you don’t often get on a dog friendly lodge. Thoughtfully laid out - we found the entrance area a great size with plenty of space for coats/ shoes. 2 large bathrooms with huge showers and 3 comfortable bedrooms. Extra storage in the main bedroom would have been useful. Great patio area with hot tub backing onto an open field , which was very private as no one went in the field. The only criticism is that the outside patio is not enclosed so not great for dogs - we improvised with a windbreak and some chairs to close the area off. Location was just off the A30 so easy to get to but about an hour from the coast so lots of driving to explore the coast, would recommend as it’s a lovely lodge.

Amazing location and Lodge, but the wrost night sleep you will ever have!

The lodge was situated in an amaing location and we had a wonderful time, but whoever owns the place mustn't have a spine or any bones what so ever! The beds are possibly the cheapest and worst beds I've ever slept on and I was a student in Hull in the 90's. There was also no welcome pack, we've stayed in multiple lodges across the country and every other one has come with a welcome pack, with a pint of milk, tea bags, some crap coffee, etc. If you love amazing views, unbelievable food, great surroundings and love springs stabbing you in the back and hips all night, this is the place for you!

Lovely lodge on a lovely site

Very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated lodge. We stayed in Lavender, suitable for 6 guests. Has a washer/dryer, airer, dishwasher, hair dryer and hoover! Hot tub is a lovely treat to relax in. Kitchen well equipped (though lacks a little cupboard space for your shopping items). Could have done with a mirror over the dressing table in the master room as well. Shame the gardens aren’t enclosed for when you bring your dog but this wasn’t a huge issue. Nice outdoor space with garden furniture and we had a lovely view of the field at the back. Area was well maintained and felt safe and clean. The lake is a 2 min walk away. We used this as a base to explore Cornwall. I would highly recommend the park and hope to visit again in the future. A very enjoyable stay, thank you!

Roadford Lake Lodges

The location of the lodge is excellent, easily accessible from the A30 and good as a base for exploring the local area. First impressions of the lodge were good, but the longer we were there we noticed things missing that make a stay comfortable. 6 of us were in a 3 bedroom lodge. Each bedroom had 5 coat hangers in the wardrobe, with a bedside cabinet with small drawers not large enough to store clothes. Result clothes stored on bed or kept in suitcase on floor that ended up tripping over. No robe hooks on any bathroom or bedroom doors. The wardrobe in the master bedroom is described as a walk in wardrobe, in reality, this is a cluttered storage cupboard for the vacuum cleaner, broom, high chair, airer and travel cot plus owners bits and pieces. Difficult to hang clothes on the small number of hangers in the cupboard as the “clutter” stored in there prevented items hanging. There are no mirrors in the bedrooms. Mirrors are in the bathrooms but the girls in the group wanted a mirror near a plug when drying/straightening hair. The most disappointing aspect was the really uncomfortable beds, to the point that we considered leaving early to get a decent nights sleep. This is a shame as the bones of a really good lodge are there. The hot tub is a good size and the outside space and walks around the lake excellent. A problem with the bathroom door handle/lock on arrival was resolved promptly. Just a shame that a few small, easily remedied things can become irritating when staying for more than a weekend.

Disappointing

This was our second visit to Roadford Lake Lodges, sadly we were disappointed with this year's stay. On arrival the lodge was not particularly clean - sticky stuff and hair on the back of one of the bedroom doors, tables needed a proper wipe and items in the kitchen were not really ready for use. In the kitchen cupboard we found a baking tray with the remnants of sausages that had been grilled on it. A real mishmash of crockery and the kitchen doesn't have a single spare cupboard to unpack any food. The lodge was showing serious signs of wear and tear - lots of marks on the walls, scratched and dented paintwork etc. The table outside was missing two glass panels on the top and the rattan was falling apart, making it practically unusable. The double showers may look great, but without adequate water pressure they are a waste of space. Unlike the lodge we stayed in previously, bedrooms in this lodge lacked sufficient space for clothes to be unpacked. We also felt that there was inadequate seating in the lounge area (2 standard sofas) - we were only a party of 5, so for a 6 bed lodge this could be a bit of an issue. On the positive side the location of the lodge is good, the space at the side is helpful. The owners have helpfully put a gate across the rear patio - meaning that if you have dogs with you they can't escape when you have the patio doors open. Roadford lake is a lovely quiet place for a break, the visitor centre café serves really nice food, there are plenty of good walks and you can easily get out and visit other interesting places - Tavistock Pannier Market is well worth the trip!
