Lovely place
Such a cute flat in a lovely area of York. The street is really quiet for being so central and less than 10 min walk to the train station.
As mentioned is up 3 flight of stairs which may be an issue for some, but I quite enjoyed that. If anything, I felt like in a cocoon (the height restriction in the bathroom not so much, but it is well designed and protected so that one doesn't get hurt). For the same reason, gets really hot when sunny or very warm, which again may be an issue for some, but I loved it, didn't even need to use the fan available.
It has everything you may need even for long stays. If anything, was better catered than other short stays in York with lovely soap and hand cream, dishwasher and washing machine tablets. The hamper was very luxurious and well thought of.
Sofa is small but comfortable and loved the oversized footstool, I thoroughly enjoyed placing it under the eave/window and have my morning coffee or read there. There is Netflix available for guests which was great, didn't need to use my own login.
The bed is small for 2 (stayed alone) and the mattress too soft for me but I was comfortable. The lumpy pillows were kindly replaced by the owner very swiftly, he was terribly kind and on hand for anything else I might have needed.
I have missed having a small hoover, there seemed to be quite a bit of fluff even after the cleaners had just been in. It was very clean everywhere other than under the bed, thankfully I haven't seen that until check-out.
There is no noise insulation and some of the guests in the apartment below threw a party on one of the days. I was very lucky, all the others were very considerate.
