Laity Vean Farmhouse and Hideaway - a house that sleeps 9 guests in 5 bedrooms
Set in a peaceful location on the outskirts of Carbis Bay, Laity Farmhouse and Hideaway is an exceptionally comfortable, beautifully furnished home with plenty of sumptuous space for groups of friends and families to enjoy. Bright and spacious the property includes a traditional farmhouse which sleeps five guests, as well as a self-contained annexe (The Hideaway) which sleeps four, with both having private, enclosed gardens.
The Farmhouse which is laid out over two floors, has its living area on the ground floor where a large sitting room with comfy sofas and a window seat creates the perfect space for unwinding in.
We ask our guests for a ÂŁ300 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no claim. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.
This beautiful farmhouse was perfect for us all. There was plenty of space and parking and it was conveniently located. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a great stay. The welcome cream tea, and milk left in the fridge was a lovely touch. We all had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend.
We stayed at the farmhouse as a large group made up of 3 different families. The large space worked very well for us and it never felt crowded.
The location is perfect, close to the beautiful beach, train station and a few local shops/restaurants. Nice cream tea waiting for us!
The house was not as clean as we would expect on arrival eg bits of food on the kitchen floor. Some of the kitchen equipment could do with a refresh and the sofas felt very worn and old.
Beds were comfortable but blinds in all the bedrooms would be a good addition as the light woke us up very early.
The outdoor space is great, bbq would be nice.
Overall, I would recommend a stay a laity vean to large groups wanting to be in a convenient location for the beach and st. Ives.
Whilst some of the rooms were of a high standard, others were not, particularly the additional bedrooms in the Old farmhouse. The kitchen was an attractive room but lacked some items that we would expect to have seen, particularly Tupperware. We also thought the property lacked an outside washing line, particularly with its proximity to the beaches.
The boiler in the Old farmhouse leaked through to the lounge.
The annexe was very nice.
We enjoyed our stay but it is not âluxury accommodationâ.
We were a family of 11. The house was good in lots of ways but we do feel like it needs a bit of love in some areas. The cleaner had mentioned the house had been wrecked before our arrival so Iâm sure they spent most of their changeover time getting it in a good state. There were lots of cob webs in many places, a dead spider stuck to the wall(it could have been removed easily) and quite dusty. We did move the sofa in the conservatory and found some knickers under there! I would say the main areas had been cleaned but there were definite areas that had been missed.
We were unable to open the kitchen window- seemed to have been sealed shut and no instructions or pole for the veluxs meant being and cooking in the kitchen was hot! We could only open the hallway window which made little difference to the heat in the kitchen. The house is well equipped with games, kitchen paraphernalia and a good size for us to have our own space. The area was perfect, being in carbis bay was ideal for the places we wanted to visit. Overall I would say itâs a 3.5/ 5 .
