Located in the centre of Soho, you are never far from coffee shops, independent boutiques and the latest restaurants that London is known for. My space offers a tranquil sitting and dining area where you can overlook a quiet courtyard through large sunny windows. It is a home away from home.
We enjoyed our stay at this location. It was central and walking distance from Tube stations and hop on buses. The apartment was a good size for four people and a pretty well stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer were a bonus. Only down side is the bed in the second bedroom needs to be replaced as well as the dining room chairs.
Unbeatable location next to Carnaby street with Soho and Covent Garden in easy walking distance. Apartment was clean with wifi and all needed amenities. The host, Audrey, was hard to get a hold of prior to the stay, but was very responsive from the day of check in throughout our stay over WhatsApp. Front-desk personnel were helpful and the checkout process was easy.
Pros: location and size of unit
Cons: the host and VRBO Customer Service
Upon check-in for a 6-night stay, we messaged the host through the VRBO app and by text expressing our dissatisfaction about the cleanliness of the unit, lack of essentials like toilet paper, and WiFi password access. The host did not respond until day 3, and then accused us of being complainers and trying to hold them hostage about a potential bad review. Well, here it is! VRBO twice said they would help us resolve issues, but never followed through. If a clean unit with essentials are important to youâalong with a host that is responsive to your concernsâthen look for another VRBO option. Very disappointing experience with VRBO all around.
We were not given instruction to gain access until right before check in at 4pm, despite several inquiries to request the opportunity to leave our bags in the lobby since we arrived in early morning. Upon arrival, the internet didnât work. The very wonderful doorman helped us install a new one. (Having internet access during our stay was imperative). The doorman also had to show us to a locked closet that held the switches to the heater. For the price, I was surprised. We found the floors and furniture to be quite dirty. Both bathrooms shared only one shampoo and one very old hairdryer. Several bottles of nearly-empty, hot pink, childrenâs hand wash were readily available, however.
The washer dryer was overstuffed with laundry, but there was no laundry soap.
Lightbulbs were burned out, towels were very old and thin. The living room blind was broken and would not go up. The very lumpy queen beds had a full-sized bottom sheet (no top sheet) that didnât fit the bed.
On a good note, the location was great, but it was very noisy, par for the course in such a lovely neighborhood. But take note. I would not recommend this place. Stay in a hotel for the price.
