We are 4 girlfriends that take an annual trip together and this year we came to Maine.
Our lake cabin was wonderful! The view from the deck is gorgeous- the lake like glass and you can hear the loons. The dock was so peaceful to sit and watch the lake. We all tried kayaking and paddle boating. The shed had plenty of water toys and equipment. Be sure to bring your own beach towels-The smore.supplies from our host were much appreciated since we had great fires each nite. The cabin had everything we needed in the kitchen, beds were comfortable and plenty of seating inside to hang out. Just know that the stairs are very steep and have short treads! But thatâs part of the charm of the cabin. There is a grocery store nearby and we were close to Outlet shopping. Binh and Andy were great in responding when we had questions. We loved the house and would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks for the fantastic stay.
We loved that this place was right on the water with access to the lake. I would wake up in the morning and my husband would be out already fishing in a kayak. Stairs are very steep so anyone with that issue should be careful or bring an air mattress to sleep in the living room. My only complaint was there was a lot of little cobwebs around the house that could be cleaned up, otherwise house was clean. Owners were easy to reach. There were actually 6 kayaks instead of 4. The deck was nice, overlooking the water. If we ever go to Maine again, we will stay here again.
The photos donât do it justice. This adorable lakefront cabin is the perfect Maine getaway. Spacious deck area, fire pit, private dock - all are great reasons to book. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are surprisingly modern for cabin! Everything you need is in the kitchen, plus the living room has extensive books, movies and board games in case or a rainy day!
Having access to the kayaks was an amazing added bonus!
We loved our 3 short days here and wish we could have stayed longer. If we end up in this area again, we will definitely re-book!
we loved this place, great location and very quiet spot! Beautiful home inside and out. The gradual walk into the water was awesome for our kiddos. We hope to rent again someday.
Great location and private location. Caught a few Bass from the dock too! Better directions needed.
Better instructions on your final communication woukd be helpful for guests stressing to find your home. GPS did not help on the final turn. Loved this place. Will come again!!
My husband and I got married last summer on Maranacook Lake. We were finally able to have our reception and wanted to stay close to my in-laws cabin on the lake. We were very lucky to find Andy and his familyâs camp. The location to our in-laws cabin was perfect so my parents and in-laws could spend time together and we were also very close to our reception venue. There was a rock delivery scheduled for the day we were leaving but Andy was great with communicating with us every step of the way.
Growing up in Maine, I spent lots of summer days at camps and lake housesâpretending weâd capture that experience a few decades later as adults was probably a long shot. But this is the real deal. Want glassy early morning lake views? Loons eerily calling at dusk? Want to see a bald eagle snag a fish from the lake a few yards away? Good chance this property will deliver. The house itself is a great mix of modern and traditional: everything you need to stay comfortable but lots of original charm. If you are looking to get away to a slower pace of life without cutting yourself off completely this is the place for you.
This is an incredibly comfortable and clean camp, with amazing outdoor space. It's a perfect spot for kayaking, sitting out by the fire, and taking in some restorative lake views. It's also accessible to a number of great, not-too-tough hikes. I definitely recommend it for a get-away where your top priority is spending as much time outside and in nature as possible!
Great spot for a family getaway. The small cove allowed for great swimming and easy access to the main channel of the lake. We brought our dog and it was an easy spot to keep an eye on him & there were other folks on holiday with dogs, so lots of furry friends to play with.
One recommendation, while the homeowner provides some bottled water, larger families might want to bring additional water. The water in the house is pumped directly from the lake, so not potable.
The camp is in a nice location with plenty to do (canoe, kayak, paddleboard, fish, swim) and quiet enough to just relax. We had a rainy day and utilized the cable TV and Wi-Fi but otherwise we were outside enjoying the lake. Keep in mind this is a camp so there's going to be "nature" (spiders, flying insects, etc.) and the water for dishes/showering/flushing comes from the lake. We had a great time and would stay here again.
The camp is very nice. It has everything you need. Great location.
I saw 2 deer when I was walking on the camp road. Watched a bald eagle that lives near by and a lot of loons on the lake. A very relaxing stay.
This house is as advertised and was a wonderful summer vacation with our young children. We had so much fun in the lake, using the paddle boat and canoe. The owner was very responsive to our questions and wonderful to work with. Very relaxing area and we enjoyed the wildlife. Lots of deer around and we loved listening to the loons with a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning. We hope to be back again next year!
Very nice cottage on the lake. It was so nice to eat out on the deck overlooking the lake, it is probably the first vacation I remember never going out to eat. Great farming countryside to explore and good fishing right from the dock.
First of all, the cottage is exactly as described in the listing. It is a charming cottage full of children's literature and games. We spent 4 days fishing, swimming, playing games, roasting smores and enjoying ourselves. One thing we didn't do was turn on the TV, not once. The DVD collection seemed great but even with 3 TV dependent children, there was so much to do they didn't even ask for it. The cottage made our vacation, the hosts were fantastic and easy to communicate with via text. Overall a great experience.
Very pleasant house: interior was clean, comfortable & relaxing. Right on the lake so great view from living room and from porch. Nice, private location.
Owners were very gracious when I ran into a problem (had nothing to do with house)--and that was appreciated.
Would certainly recommend.
Had a great time at this camp, everything was clean and we were well provided for. Nice quiet spot, kids and dog had a great time. Would go back again!
This spot is a great place to connect with family and friends. Whether enjoying all that Maranacook has to offer, from water skiinging, to kayaks, fishing, etc. Or just wanting to connect with family, This is a wonderfull camp to make memories that will last a lifetime. It has everything you need from coffee maker to campfire to kayaks, fishing poles etc. Go and have a great time!
