Welcome to Cityscape @ Ryedale House - A stunning 2 bedroom property with incredible views over York Minster.

Ryedale House is an exclusive, private development in the heart of York’s historic core beside the River Foss. The building benefits from secure allocated parking and an onsite concierge. Cityscape sits on the 6th floor and offers a dramatic views of York Minster and other landmarks across the city.

Upon entering the open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area for the first time you will be immediately struck by the amazing amount of natural light coming into the apartment from the floor to ceiling windows. The property occupies a corner position on the building which aids this. There is a seating area right in the corner of the room where you can take full advantage of relaxing with a coffee and taking in the view.

The kitchen area has been designed to the highest standards and features premium Neff appliances throughout. There is a large island unit and bespoke worktop creating a sophisticated and contemporary living space.

The dining area can seat 4 for dinner and backs onto the stylish living area with comfortable seating and large LCD TV. The high quality wooden floors throughout the apartment also have the added benefit of underfloor heating.

The master bedroom features a super king size bed that can be setup as twin beds on request and also has an ensuite complete with underfloor heating and spacious walk in shower.

The second bedroom of the apartment features a king size bed. Both the bedrooms benefit from having USB sockets near the beds and high quality carpets throughout.

The apartment also has the added benefit of an allocated car park space onsite.

Festive Christmas Stay

The apartment was excellent, and we would be happy to stay there again. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped, and in a good location for access to the city centre. We stayed over Christmas, and the festive decorations provided were much appreciated. The inclusion of a car park space was another welcome inclusion.

Beautiful apartment in a great location

This apartment is lovely, , spacious, great views and in a great location. I would definitely return and recommend to others. Just a shame that there were a couple of small things that have been overlooked ie chipped crockery , stains on bedroom carpet and bath sealant needed replacing that stopped it getting 5*

Great location!

Property was very clean and in a fantastic location. Check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Recommend to anyone looking for a place to land while exploring the York area.

What a fab place to stay

This is a beautiful apartment with an imposing entrance foyer, very helpful concierge. The apartment had everything you need, extremely clean, well laid out and the views are simply amazing with really large windows giving a full view of the Minster. It is a very short walk to the city centre, less than 5 minutes. Beautiful apartment, beautiful city and when we return, we would book this again. There is a building site opposite the side but this did NOT detract from the very enjoyable stay.

Huge Apartment, Perfect Location, Fabulous Views.

Easy check in, secure parking, spacious and luxurious, we enjoyed the city views, very close to the centre and the city walls. We stayed for a week and was very comfortable, we will definitely stay again.

Pre- Christmas break

Cityscape apartment was very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated, we even had Christmas Dec's! We had a few minor hiccups eg. Chipped crockery which Stays York is dealing with for the next guests and only the standard welcome pack ( we've stayed at other Stays York apartments which the owners provided the upgraded one). We have left behind some jackets which Stays York are organising the return for a small fee. The staff are amazing. What a service ! Cityscape is ideally situated for everything in the City, with the added bonus of private parking. All-in-all we had a lovely week and would highly recommend Cityscape and Stays York.

Central Location

Comfortable apartment on 6th floor. Quiet building. Unfortunately only one lift working during our stay. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. More cooking utensils would be oreferable if self -catering.

Not cheap but no disappointment at all.

We stayed for almost 20 days in a 2 bedroom apartment with a very nice view. We were just 5 minutes walk from city centre. All apartment very well fitted and spacious. It's not cheap comparing to other options but I think It's good value for money.

Excellent location and spacious apartment. Would definitely recommend. Only minor points to add - few things missing - soap only in one bathroom, no oven gloves, no surface cleaner, would have been nice to have toiletries given the price paid (relative to other properties we have stayed in). Could do with a clean under furniture.

Fabulous Apartment

Our party of four senior ladies enjoyed Cityscape apartment for its location, convenience and fantastic views across the city of York. The apartment was extremely clean, spacious, with very comfortable beds and equipped with everything you would need and want for a holiday let. The check-in and check-out process was straight forward. The only problem we had was with the shower in the en-suite. The temperature was difficult to control as it would suddenly become very hot. I point this out as I feel this should be checked to avoid any unfortunate accident. Please note no other water was being used at the time to cause a temperature change.

Impressive, Comfortable and Convenient

This is a superbly comfortable apartment, perfectly placed for all York's many attractions with the bonus (for those who prefer self-catering to hotels) of having two convenience stores close to hand, on the same street, and York's main shopping areas within a five minute walk. Guaranteed, free and easily accessible on-site parking is another huge plus point, as parking in the city centre, much of which is pedestrianised, is in short supply and expensive. The apartment has all the facilities one might need, exceptionally comfortable beds and glorious views over the city centre at night. Entry on arrival is by key code provided by Stays York and, thereafter, by keys and car park key fob obtained from a locker area on the ground floor. Booking and backup by Stays York is - as I have always found - excellent. Cleanliness throughout the building is immaculate. I shall certainly be staying here again on one of my many visits to York.

Ladies City Break

A lovely modern flat a 25/30 minute walk from the railway station and an easy 15/20 into the city centre. Well furnished, well equipped and with, rarely found in rentals, comfortable beds with quality linens. A surprising downside was the heat in the flat. With no curtains in the living/kitchen area the flat was stifling hot, 27 degrees, when we arrived and we had a terrible sleep the first night. We learned to open all the windows to cool the flat before bed but by 5am it was very warm again. Not a problem I expected in York in late May! It really needs voile type curtains in the living area to afford some privacy when lights are on in the evening and to take the edge of the sun. Some short simple operating instructions would be great as the technology in the flat did confound us a little - the tv, the dishwasher, even the lighting at first and we couldn't get the Sonos speaker to pair to any of our, all different, phones. We had a great stay and would happily return and recommend.

Cityscape@Ryedale weekend

We stayed at the Cityscape apartment in the gorgeous Ryedale building over a weekend in February. The apartment certainly had the ‘wow factor’ and we instantly all fell in love with the views. The apartment itself was extremely clean, full of light, had a great atmosphere and felt spacious - even for a couple with 2 kids and an infant. Everything felt like luxury and we all agreed we would definitely want to stay at the apartment again when we next visit York. The fact it includes a parking space, right in the city, was the cherry on the cake. Stays York were great and clear with all instructions and directions and there was a lovely welcome pack on our arrival. We would definitely recommend to anyone who fancies a luxury stay in a wonderful city!

Excellent stay in York, with everything in easy walking distance.

The service provided by Stays York was first class throughout, only blip was no parking permit in the keysafe on arrival. I provided my vehicle registration details to Stays York and they quickly sorted the problem. Molly was particularly helpful during the booking process. The building was very impressive with lovely reception area and a very pleasant and helpful concierge available during the day. All public areas are spotless including the two lifts. The carpark is secure with a number of spaces under cover. The apartment has a high build specification but the bathrooms have no storage surfaces which is a little inconvenient and who would fit a mirror over the toilet and not the washbasin? The furnishings and ambience let the apartment down, has obviously been done at the minimum expense with mainly secondhand furniture. We would certainly stay at this excellent location again but choose an apartment with a few more "home comforts".

Apartment with Stunning views

We had a lovely stay at this luxury apartment with beautiful views of York. The apartment was really well appointed. There were just a couple of minor niggles which let it down . They were minor but did detract from the general luxury of the apartment. The bath towels were not very big and not high quality. There is no mirror above the sink in the ensuite or one for my partner to do her make up in the main bedroom. The feature chair in the lounge by the windows isn't very comfortable. Overall though the place is stunning and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it. We'll worth the money.

Lovely apartment, great location, a few suggestions to make the stay more comfortable

We stayed for one week in early August. We arrived at 4pm (keys are collected and returned via a key safe near the entrance lobby) but unfortunately the apartment had not yet been cleaned or beds changed, it was also very hot and stuffy, so we opened the windows and the cleaners arrived a few minutes later, were apologetic and asked us to vacate until at least 5pm. When we returned the apartment was clean, it feels new, modern and tastefully appointed with artwork on the walls. The master bedroom with en-suite is the room which converts to twin beds so our two teenage sons took that room, whilst my husband and I took the second smaller bedroom with the double bed. This room is furnished to a minimal standard. Apart from the bed, there was a hanging rail, a set of narrow shelves and mirror. There are no bedside tables or lamps, meaning that spectacles, reading book, morning cup of tea etc. had to be put on the floor. The bathrooms are lovely, clean, great showers and plenty of hot water however the extractor fans did not come on and we would also suggest a bin and hooks to hang towels or other items on in each of the bathrooms. There is a utility room which we used to hang the towels to dry after use. The kitchen is very nice, well equipped, we did 'cook at home' on one occasion. Also we ate breakfast at the apartment and so would suggest cereal bowls. We didn't use the dishwasher and so a dish drainer would have been useful. As a previous reviewer said there is a very large TV with access to Netflix, however no Freeview TV so no digital channels. The main living space has floor to ceiling windows which give impressive views towards the Minster, however we found the room to be uncomfortably warm on occasions when the sun was shining as there are no window dressings in the living area (the bedrooms have black out curtains). The windows can be opened for ventiltion, but being in the city there is a lot of traffic noise. We did speak to York Stays about providing fans but they did not respond to our request. The apartment is really convenient for getting around York on foot, we loved walking around the city walls, and we also visited Fountains Abbey, Harrogate, Pickering and Dalby Forest, all of which were great. In summary the apartment is very nice and contempory, however a few finishing additions would help to make the stay a little more comfortable.

EXCELLENT LOCATION, WONDERFUL APARTMENT

Lovely clean, spacious and well located apartment which was great for a full-on touristy visit to York for a week. It does need air conditioning though as it got very hot during our time there in July. Although there are no allocated parking spaces it’s probably better to park under the covered part so as not to clash with skip deliveries and building works (which do not affect residents). It’s also a good idea to check with the office about key collection or handover on arrival.

A Great Getaway

This was a weekend away for my wifes significant birthday (We'll leave it there.) We were met by one of the representatives, who was a pleasant chap and he arrived with the keys and fobs. He took us up to the apartment and explained a few basics on the way. The apartment is in a great location. Literally a couple of hundred yards from the edge of the town centre with great local amenities. A Tesco express and Sainsbury local are within a five minute walk, fro those making it more of a self catering break. The apartment itself is fantastic. Ample parking exists behind a gated car park, for which you receive a fob and one space for your stay duration. The apartment is very well furnished and has everything to make it self contained. As you enter the building, there is an air of newness and this is highlighted further when you leave the lift at floor six and get the smell of the newly laid carpet. Energy efficient lighting comes on as you leave the lift, to light the way to your apartment. On entering, there is a long hallway with a bathroom to the right then the master bedroom and the second bedroom at the end. The master room has a fantastic en-suite with a drench shower, toilet and basin. The bedroom is of a good size and has a chest of drawers, a hanging rail with hangers and a dressing table. The only consideration here would have been a bedside table. The living room is brilliant. All glass walled, with fantastic views across York. A good size sofa and two chairs feature around a coffee table and a widescreen TV. Netflix is available, if you have an account. The pack stated that Freeview is available and whilst it was available to select, it didn't work and simply pixelated all of the time. The kitchen area is well equipped with cutlery, pans, cook books along with plenty of glasses and pottery. There is also a four seater dining table. There was a lovely welcome pack on the table with tea, coffee, biscuits and sachets of milk. My daughter loved the relaxer chair in the corner, where she could sit back and just take in the view. The second bedroom is again of good size and has ample storage for clothing and accessories. The only consideration here is that we requested this room to be set up as two beds but it was a king size bed that could not be split. Considerations for the property would be that we had a few crumbs on the living room rug, which the cleaning team should have attended to. We stayed in June 2021 and it was very warm. From what we could work out, there was heating only and no cooling. The TV needs the Freeview sorting out. We were asked to dispose of any rubbish prior to leaving the apartment. This was to be done via a rubbish chute in a utility room. Unfortunately, having tried for over an hour, the chute repeatedly showed "Busy" and could not be used. We therefore took our rubbish away with us. Finally, returning the keys. You do this by going to the town centre office and just posting them through. What we didn't realise was that the street is one of the very narrow ones, near the minster, with limited access. As such, parking is difficult. Perhaps a post back envopak system could be looked at or some kind of secure box in reception. Despite the minor hiccups above, we had a great time and would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending to to others.
