Villa Sky - Charming Villa with Private Pool & Lovely Outdoor Area

Located in the outskirts of Zejtun, this spacious and charming private farmhouse enjoys a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside which stretches down to the sea. Villa Sky combines elements typical of the rustic style of Malta with a touch of modern features such as stone walls

Upon entrance, one will find a huge living area, a bathroom, a combined kitchen/dining area overlooking the lovely pool area. Outside includes a beautiful terrace full of natural shade, a pool with sun loungers, a charcoal BBQ, a dining table and a well kept garden. All bedrooms are located on the first and second floors all having en-suite bathrooms. From the upper floor, one will enjoy amazing views.

Nearby are the villages of Marsascala and Marsaxlokk all of which boast several restaurants and beaches. A bus stop is located a few meters away which makes it quite accessible to travel around if one does not have a car.

Free WiFi in all rooms while Air conditioning is available through a Pay-Per-Use Coin Machine with €10 daily free.

The good the Bad and the Ugly !

I will start with the good. I loved the house and it's location. I felt as if I was in the "real Malta" and not in a tourist area. There was a man with a horse and sulky that passed every day and a dog that would greet us upon arrival from his rooftop. Upon arrival I was pleased but as time went on I became disappointed. The Bad The first night we decided to stay in and have dinner and a glass of wine to unwind and relax. We found that the wine opener was broken and the oven did not work. We paid for Internet service but could not get the password from the hosts. The desktop only worked for a few minutes before overheating and shutting off. The master bedroom is a double bed and not a queen as stated. We were only given 1 towel each for our stay so we had damp towels at all times. The TV buzzed at all times on all channels. The coffee pot did not have the proper plug and I had to buy this myself in the market. No bath soaps, no paper towels, certainly no welcome pack or bottled water were provided as stated. All this would have been no big deal, but the issues were addressed directly with Jossette andChris the first morning with no resolution at all. All this also could have been no big deal except theta the weather turned cold . The Ugly We requested heat to take the cold and dampness off the house prior to bedtime and this request was Ignored. We had to sleep in a double bed in sweaters and socks. I have never been so glad to get home to my large bed with heat! I would have been very happy to return to this home agin in the future with friends and family, but it's obvious that it is rented on the cheap and the basics are not provided. It's a real shame that the owners or managers decide if you are cold or not and if you get heating or not. I would be happy to bring my own towels, etc.. No heat! This is a real problem for me!! Due to this overt tackiness, I will not be able to recommend this property to other travelers. I'm really sorry, but no heat is a deal breaker for me

Lovely stay !

Me and my friends had the perfect stay here . The owners were amazing and responded to us in a very quick manner and were also helpful . The villa itself was amazing , super clean a lot bigger then I thought and just what we was wanting . Location I would advise to get a car , also it’s surrounded by farms , so we had not a nice smell in the odd occasion and had issues with flies . However this didn’t stop us from having a lovely relaxing fun time ! Thank you for your hospitality!

The foliage spoils the grandeur of the whole pool area potential and stops the pool from heating as very limited sunlight direct but mainly for the visitor's sunbathing and general enjoyment area at rear of house.

Wunderschöne Villa, tolle Unterstützung

Wir waren zu zehnt auf Abifahrt neun Nächte in der Villa Sky. Sehr geräumig, ausreichend Zimmer und Bäder, toller Pool und Außenbereich. Der "Tak Kiem Butcher" in der Nähe (rund 3 Min. zu Fuß) hat alle wichtigen Grundnahrungsmittel (Wasser, Konserven, Gemüse, Obst, Fleisch usw.), für alles Weitere gibt es einen Lidl (mit dem Fahrrad rund 5-10 Min entfernt). Die Vermieterin Josette stand rund um die Uhr für Fragen zur Verfügung und kam bei Bedarf auch gerne persönlich vorbei. Sehr angenehm sind die Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine, was den Aufenthalt erleichtern und entspannen. Jeder von uns bekam zwei Duschhandtücher gestellt, außerdem wurde in jedem Bad neben dem Waschbecken ein Handtuch platziert. Die Endreinigung war inklusive. Es gibt in der Nähe der Villa eine Bushaltestelle mit guter Anbindung, wodurch es gut möglich war, auch andere, weiter entfernte Teile der Insel zu sehen. Die Bustickets sind mit 2 Euro für 2 Stunden günstig, auch die ecab-Taxis sind zu empfehlen (ebenfalls günstig). Nicht zu empfehlen ist die Tour von Supreme Cruises nach Comino, hier war das Schiff alt und sehr voll, die Fahrtzeit zu lang wegen vielen Zwischenstopps. Die Blue Lagoon auf Comino ist überfüllt, allerdings gibt es auf der anderen Seite der Insel eine schöne Badestelle mit sauberem Wasser und nicht zu vielen Menschen. Es gibt auch einen sehr schönen Felsstrand (ähnlich dem St. Peters Pool nur viel leerer) in der Nähe der Villa wenn man erst in Richtung Marsaxlokk fährt, dann am St Peters Pool vorbei und noch ca. 500 Meter oder etwas mehr weiter, dann links nach unten abbiegt. Sehr empfehlenswert, zu Fuß jedoch etwas zu weit, hier entweder mit dem Fahrrad oder mit einem Mietwagen o.ä. hinfahren. Gesamt gesehen also top Villa, top Vermieter, gute Lage, weiterzuempfehlen.

Peace and tranquility

We had a lovely stay at Villa Sky with the family (9 of us). The villa is in a very peaceful little town with farmland and countryside around it. The rooms were very spacious and had their own bathrooms which was a huge plus. We loved the welcome package left in the fridge on arrival. The pool and garden are bigger than what is represented in the pictures which was a huge relief. I think the wide angle shot made the pool look smaller somehow but it's actually a good size. There is on street parking for the villa out front or there is a few spaces around the side which we used more often. I would say hiring a car would be beneficial to see more of the places around the villa as Zetjun is quite quiet. Also, with the car we went to Lidl (10 min drive away) and did a big shop for the week which I'd recommend doing. There are other shops nearby like the butcher which is also great for getting BBQ food at a great price. Only thing I could complain about was that the AC is a must at night if you are not used to hot temperatures. We had to top it up every night to get a good sleep and the rate that it used up the credit was very fast when all rooms were using the AC. Thanks for having us and hopefully visit Villa Sky and Malta again!

Zetjun Villa

The property is located on the outskirts of Zetjun in a rural location a short drive from Marsaskala and the picturesque town of Marsaxlokk. The owners were very helpful advising of local amenities and places to visit when we arrived but a car is essential in our opinion. The villa was well equipped, although is a little tired in places.

Perfect family holiday location

Arranged to have our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Sky Villa with 3 generations of the family. Josette met us on the first day with lots of useful information on local shops and restaurants plus details of tours around Malta that could be arranged. The villa itself is very nice with large bedrooms and lots of bath/shower rooms. The outside area is even better with a barbeque area next to the pool where we had all our breakfasts and dinners. The pool is deceptively large with depths of 1.2m to 1.7m so the grandchildren spent most of the day, every day, splashing around. The two closest coastal towns, Marsascala and Marsaxlokk (pronounced Marsashlok) are well worth visiting particularly Marsaxlokk on market days. The villa is in a quiet area and bus stops are 5 to 10 minutes walk away, however, if you want to see more of Malta it's probably worthwhile hiring a car which are relatively cheap. We would certainly recommend staying at Sky Villa to our friends and maybe return for more Wedding Anniversaries.

Holiday Wedding

We were in Malta for the first time for our son's wedding. Our first two nights were in a lovely hotel but once we all moved to the four villas, rented from the same owner, we felt so much more relaxed and at home. Villa Sky was just lovely and we felt it was a great treat to stay there. The small, picturesque pool made the rear courtyard the favourite part of the house. There was plenty of space inside and all our friends and family were in close proximity in equally lovely properties. Good value for money too,

Christmas treat

We decided to spend Christmas in Malta this time to get away from the cold back home. I must say we were not disappointed. This villa was indeed beautiful, built in typically Maltese old style yet with all modern facilities. We really enjoyed staying here. The weather was splendid and enabled us to go round the island and visit the many beautiful places on the island. Would definitely book this place again.

Piece of paradise

We came to Malta to attend a wedding and chose this villa upon recommendation of our friends. We truly enjoyed staying here. Apart from the house itself which is charming and situated in a quiet area, we loved the nearby seaside villages of Marsascala and Marsaxlokk. The only downfall was that being November we did not use the pool!

Simply wonderful

Beautifully-restored house with all modern commodities. Lovely round private pool and lovely bedrooms. We enjoyed our time here as the house is situated in a quiet area. Would stay in it again.

All that we wanted

What can we say? A truly beautiful typical Maltese house. We were here with our friends who rented the villa next door, Villa Valletta which belongs to the same owner. We had a lovely time because we could meet up with our friends and enjoy barbecues at both houses. The children loved splashing about in the pool and my son even learned to swim! All in all we had a great time!

Beautiful and comfortable

We chose this house because it had been recommended to us by our friends. We very not disappointed at all. On the contrary the villa was more than we expected. The owners had it beautifully restored retaining all the natural Maltese stone. From the kitchen one goes out into the garden with a lovely circular pool where we spent most of our evenings away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Unfortunately our holiday ended much too soon! We could have gladly stayed another week!

Perfect Getaway

We were a group of 6 ladies and found the villa to be very clean and had all the necessities. We were met by Josette who handed us the keys and gave us basic information about the location as well as tips on the best restaurants nearby. We spent our evening having barbecues by the pool. A very relaxing holiday indeed. The only downside was that our holiday came to an end too soon!

Very happy

Ten of us stayed here for a week at the end of July. We had such a great time; the villa is very spacious and well kept. Everywhere was clean and there were good basic supplies upon arrival the owners were so helpful, including taking us to a local shop when we got there. The area is quiet but within walking distance (10-15 mins) of shops and restaurants. Taxis are also fairly cheap if you want to go further afield as we did. The only thing we found which could maybe be improved is that the wifi only reached as far as the living room where the router is, but this didn't cause us problems as we didn't use it much, being on holiday. I'd recommend the villa and would stay again!

High Standard

We were in a group of 29, some of us stayed at The Chateau , others in the villa next door Villa Valletta and our group of 10 stayed at Villa Sky. I visited all villas and they all have a high standard. Villa Sky has very large bedrooms and bathrooms not to mention the view from the suite upstairs. We had WiFi and used A/C in August. The villa was clean and the owners were very helpful. The pool area is well kept. I liked the interior décor of this villa especially the kitchen. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend this villa

We just left Villa Sky on the 5th November, the weather was still fine and sunny. We enjoyed our morning walks on the Marsascala promenade and the restaurants owners gave us special treatment as during this time of the year they are not very busy. We also paid a very low price of three persons to stay at Villa Sky. We did not use the A/C as the temperature was comfortable. The villa was clean and well organized and our host Josette was very helpful. She also took us to a clinic when my husband was not feeling very well. Well done Josette and we highly recommend your villas.

Perfect location and getaway

On our arrival Josette gave us all the information we needed to make our holiday the best possible. She gave us tips on the best restaurants and she highlighted the best beaches to visit. The villa was warm and welcoming and the old architecture with the modern finishes really made us feel at home. The pool area is heart fully designed and well kept. The pool was inviting and as soon as we checked in we were all swimming within 15 minutes. There are 5 bathrooms in the villa some of which with showers. The villa was clean and the pool cleaner comes twice a week to clean the pool. The strong point of this villa is its’ proximity to Marsascala (for restaurants) and Marsaxlokk. The location is quiet and there is free parking in front of the villa. We only stayed for three nights but we intend to return in winter when prices are really cheap. Thanks Chris and Josette.

A perfect honeymoon

We spent our honeymoon in Villa Sky. The atmosphere that one can see from the photographs of the villa is exceeded in reality. We spent our evenings by the pool and on the last day we invited the guests from Villa Valletta, a Dutch couple celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed the BBQ’s and bought local wine from a nearby winery just a few metres away from the villa. The wine was excellent. We only used the bedroom on the top floor enjoying the sea view of St Thomas bay and the view in the morning is spectacular. At night one could see the ships on the horizon. Josette, the villa owner also got us a cake when we told her we were on our honeymoon. My father paid this villa for us as a wedding present as my parents were at Villa Sky in 2012. I recommend this villa as it is the perfect place where one can enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday. Thanks also to Josette and Stefan, the pool cleaner, who used to keep our pool crystal clear.

A real treat

We arrived at Villa Sky late at night. The owners greeted us to the villa and drove us around to a nearby restaurant. Josette showed us the villa and we were amused with the circular pool and the surrounding garden. We spent our evenings enjoying barbeques in this quiet villa. The bedrooms as well as the bathrooms are large, kitchen is fully equipped and the villa was spotless. We consider the price we paid to be a very good price and we afforded to stay for 10 nights instead of a week. We highly recommend this villa especially to groups or a family of more than 6 persons.

We'll be back

We knew that we were going to be given a professional service from the informative email we received when we booked this accommodation. What we saw when we arrived there, exceeded our expectations because the photos do not do it justice. The spacious bedrooms are filled with natural light and the views they offer are breath taking. Our children enjoyed spending days splashing in the well-sized pool and we spent most evening making bbqs since both the bbq area and kitchen are well equipped. We highly recommend this villa if you’re after a tranquil holiday.
