Hollyâs Place was such a cozy place for our first time in Tahoe! Itâs close to every location via walking or Uber. I would recommend this to my friends and family!
The home was spacious with 3 bedrooms and large living room. We liked the large entry way mudroom for storing ski gear. Its right next to the ice skating rink and and the slopes. The cons will be the dated kitchen with no hood so cooking breakfast sausage triggered the smoke detector and windows dont open to vent. Also the manual gate each time is annoying. Overall a pleasant stay.
Very spacious house. Bedroooms were large with comfortable beds. We came with our dogs and it was comfy with our dogs. Took dogs to Kiva Beach which was spectacular. We swam and sunbathed and enjoyed everyone with their dogs, too. Location is great. Walked to restaurants and local beach. Only negative is that it has one bathroom. But we will be back!
My youngest son got married in SLT. He and the entire wedding party stayed at their venue on the beach. Knowing we needed a quiet place to escape the fast paced week, we found this quaint and adorable cabin just 1/2 mile away. The host is prompt, helpful and informative! The cabin is quiet and decorated like its my own. We hope to be back and would stay here again most definitely!!!
This is relaxed Tahoe at its best. This home (we rented the main house (note the property is in an enclosed large acre plus that has a few units on it so common grounds and others sharing parking and fire pits make it feel like a lovely âmeet and greetâ travelers. We stayed for 2 weeks and met several nice couples taking a break from city life and mother daughter travelers during our stay. Nancy ans Holly and their team are JUST AWESOME! They are the kinda old school hospitality that want you to be welcomed. Note the home is rather old and charming with a flare for nanaâs comforts. The beds are ok and linens clean but a bit dated. The tall lines provide lovely shade and we found the space just right. A dishwasher would have been nice but hand washing made us just all be responsible for our own things! We grilled almost every night and enjoyed eating on the picnic table in the fresh air. Kitchen is original but practical. And it was nice to be able to do a load of laundry or two. Bring your own supplies as we didnât see any. Every thing was orderly and we felt right at home and could walk to El Dorado beach (which is mall but does have rentals) and to town for an ice cream or dinner. Quaint and charming is how Is summarize it. Plenty to do nearby. Covid did have lots of things closed - Rex center etc but none the less we had a wonderful family experience and would return.
We booked the main house for the week of our wedding and loved the space! Our dog was able to run around and have plently of space to play, there was enough parking for our big truck and our boat, the property manager was super nice and helpful. This was a great place for family and friends to come hang out at! One thing to note that we didn't realize, there are other guests on the property and it is a shared space. This may be stated somewhere on the listing, but I wasn't aware that there would be other guests on the property, which is fine, but we would've booked the whole property if we knew this ahead of time for more privacy. Luckily our dog got along with the other guest's dogs and they were friendly, but it was unexpected. Overall a great space for groups!
The main house was perfect for our group of 5, except sometimes having one bathroom was tricky. There is a huge yard with a gas fire pit, seating, and hammocks that were great to use. The location was close to Safeway, the lake, and lots of restaurants.
We really enjoyed the location and setting of Hollyâs place. It was very convenient for us taking the kids to and from their hockey camp at the ice arena. The dog-friendly arrangements and the family oriented surroundings were awesome for us!
My family had great time staying at this property over the presidentâs day long weekend. Few minutes walk to lake, and close to ski, park and restaurants. Clean. It would be great if can provide coffee filters.
The cabin is cozy and convenient to ge to skiing and into town. Easy directions to access the cabin, quick communication with hosts and parking. We enjoyed the fireplace and also glad they are dog friendly! Thanks again!
We loved staying at Holly's Place for a Tahoe Getaway before the snow disappeared!! The quaint Tall Pines Cabin was just the ticket for our family to enjoy some down time in beautiful snow covered surroundings and to enjoy a birthday weekend while experiencing a first time in the snow event for my grand dog Rudy!! The cabin was large enough for all of us and it was well equipped to cook, enjoy each others company while playing games in front of the wood burning stove, and to explore the surrounding area. We definitely want to come back in the summer to explore the lovely grounds some more! It was a perfect spot and location and we loved being able to bring our dog too! Thank you!
We had a wonderful relaxing time!! . Great place for our dog to run around. Great location. Close to everything but secluded for privacy as well. We loved our visit. Looking foreword to a return stay. :)
We had a great time at Holly's Place. Wanted to get away for a few days and thought Tahoe would be during this COVID mess. However Tahoe was crazy busy so we spent most of our time at the cabin cooking and hanging out with the dogs! Love that the entire place is fenced in.
The cabin/house (main Tall Pines) is wonderful and spacious!
The snow added to the magic! This house is wonderful and has all you need to have the comfort of home away from home. The upstair bedroom is awesome! Great stargazing or watching the snow fall. There was plenty of snow for the kids to play. The location is in a central location near Safeway and the lake. Would recommend this place to anyone with small kids during the winter to enjoy the snow.
This house is much nicer in person, very big and roomy ( I rented the main house). I will definitely hope to be coming back to this location. The owner is a very nice and caring person and she made sure everything was good when I was their. I will just let yâall know that if y'all are trying to party and be loud, This is not the place ( I learned the hard way), this is more of a ârelaxingâ stay with the family. Overall I give this place a 9 âïž out of 10. For the reason being that we had to keep our noise levels down đ, but definitely loved this place and surrounding activities.
Thank you Nancy once again for letting me stay here this past weekend. 7/20=7/22 2018
Holly, Sally, and Nancy (myself) are sisters who grew up in Pasadena, CA. Holly fell in love with Lake Tahoe in 1987 and bought the property from Bill Tisher who was a high-altitude gardener. Holly lived on the property running a dog friendly cabin rental business called Holly's Place for 25 years. Recently Holly moved to a senior living community in Tahoe but still returns to the property frequently to garden. My husband and I purchased the property from Holly and continue to run the Holly's Place business. Our family often visits for reunions with family and friends.
It's a beautiful cabin/house on an acre of land surrounded by a log wall. Visitor's dogs roam freely on the property as allowed by their owners. It's a safe, quiet property only two blocks from the lake. It doesn't get much better than this!
