***Now available 27 September to 3 October*** GIRASSOL 25, Monte Dourado, is a comfortable, roomy, light and airy, GROUND FLOOR apartment in the heart of Carvoeiro village, which is amazingly calm even in the summer months. A few steps takes you to one of the 5 pool areas and a 5 minutes stroll downhill to the Blue Flag beach and the many cafes, restaurants, bars and shops the village has to offer. Ideally situated for a great holiday. Car hire is not necessary. Alojamento Local Registered 55721/AL
We live in Carvoeiro and manage our apartment personally, we are on hand to answer any questions or give any information, hints or tips to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Tourist Tax
Certain provinces in Portugal are now charging a Tourist Tax, Lagoa is one of those areas. This has been implemented with effect from 12th May for everyone aged 13 and over. The tax is âŹ2 in the summer and âŹ1 in the winter per person per night for up to 7 nights.
Because of how the tax is formulated we can't just easily add it to each booking, but will collect it from you and give you a receipt when you arrive.
THE APARTMENT
The lovely BLUE FRONT DOOR opens onto a generous entrance HALLWAY, giving access to the whole apartment, which has high quality WI-FI throughout.
TWO LARGE BEDROOMS (one with King-sized bed the other with Twin beds) have fitted wardrobes and air conditioning. The MAIN BATHROOM has a large walk-in shower with both overhead rain and handheld shower heads. The SHOWER ROOM has a walk in shower area and rain shower-head too.
The FITTED KITCHEN is complete with all the necessary white goods, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ceramic hob, electric oven and microwave. All the small appliances, toaster, kettle, juicer, filter coffee machine and coffee plunger are there too. The cupboards and drawers are full of what you would expect to find in your own home. There is a washing machine, clothes drying area, iron and board. Guests who stay for 7 nights or longer will receive a free Welcome Pack on arrival.
Facing onto the wide sunny terrace the air conditioned LOUNGE/ DINING ROOM is light bright and airy, very comfortably furnished and complete with wood burning stove for those chilly winter evenings. There is a well-stocked bookcase, TV (with over 165 channels including Dutch, French and German channels) as well as a DVD player (many films to choose from) a music centre and board games to ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The SPACIOUS TERRACE runs the full width of the apartment and offers a degree of PRIVACY being set back from its neighbours, it is well lit and also lucky enough to have an open view and garden area, so is a good distance from the pathway. With hardwood table and chairs this is an ideal place to dine al fresco or enjoy relaxing in the zero gravity reclining chairs at any time of the day. Should you feel too hot there is also a wind-out toldo (sun shade).
Because this is a ground floor apartment, access to the pool is directly from the terrace, while first floor apartments have to come to the road and then walk around the block to access the pool.
All household LINEN is provided and changed weekly. We also provide towels for the pool and separate ones to take to the beach with mats. The apartment has a LAPTOP SAFE; we do not charge for its use.
There are five SWIMMING POOLS in the complex (one heated in winter), all with separate childrenâs pool, sun loungers and umbrellas.
There are two TENNIS COURTS on site, hire from Reception.

HIGH SEASON JUNE, JULY, AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER
We try to be as flexible as possible so we do not have a fixed changeover day.
However we ask guests to please book so that your holiday starts or ends at a previous booking or at least leaves a minimum 7 nights either side of your booking
For LONG STAY WINTER GUESTS, special rates are available, which we base on two people sharing, and happily welcome their visitors for a small extra charge, payable locally at the end of the stay.
Electricity is charged at cost, also payable locally at the end of the stay. The big pool is heated in the winter months, usually from October to April.
