Looking for a place away from crowded cities, sourranded by nature to spend some time?

Vitorino Deluxe is a traditional house in the hill located at the highest point of the village of Penedo, a typical Portuguese village in the Serra de Sintra. The village is situated in an unexplored, peaceful and calm area. Penedo is located within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, between Almoçageme, Colares and Pé da Serra.

Penedo is the highest village in the Serra de Sintra, with a privileged view over the landscape of the Natural Park. This is an ideal place for travelers looking for a place away from problems, in contact with nature.

Its privileged location allows people to reach important tourist spots in a short period of time, from the coast (4 km) to the city (35 km)

The area around the property is ideal for nature lovers: you can simply walk along the forest paths or, for people with a good level of fitness, ride a bike in the uneven mountain landscape (some bike circuits are nearby).

The house has three comfortable bedroom with double beds. The living area is spacious, and directly connected with the open dinning room.

An escape from the hustle

We spent 1 week in August 2023. The property is high on the hills no more than a couple of miles west (as the crow flies) from Sintra. It is beautifully appointed, with everything you need in the kitchen, fast wifi, comfortable seating and beautiful outside space. The furnishings are quirky and the layout slightly unusual with the double height living space & mezzanine master suite. Outside is private, quiet & very spacious - again there are quirky touches to be discovered as you explore. The pool area is large but the pool is really only for taking a dip as it is circular and quite small. I would not recommend the pool for small children as the slope from the shallow 'end' is steep. Being in the hills the temperature is about 5c cooler than on the coast but no less sunny. It was breezy when we stayed so there were few insects during the day but 1 or 2 mosquitos at night. We followed the hosts recommendations for eating out and were not disappointed - but you will need to take the car. The host was welcoming and charming and has good english. The property is 20mins from Praia grande a stunning & clean atlantic beach - look for the dinosaur footprints in the cliff, and Sintra . You are also about 40mins from Cascais - beautiful & the waves are far gentler, & the airport. We found free parking in Sintra and took the train to Lisbon from there on 1 day and then did the same from Cascais to Bellem area of Lisbon on another day. WE LOVED OUR STAY

A Magical Stay in Sintra

Vitorino Deluxe is a charming stone house high up in the hills of the Serra de Sintra. It is equipped with all modern conveniences, especially a high-end kitchen, nice bathrooms and fast and stable internet (very important for our teenagers). The house can accommodate up to 6 people, but with four adults and two teenagers in our group it did feel a bit busy because of only two bathrooms. It is very well decorated with a whimsical style which we quite liked. It was simply a pleasure to just spend time inside and outside on the grounds. There is a small cocktail pool, which is refreshing and great for a morning swim and afternoon soak. The grounds are well-maintained and are essentially an orchard, which the owners encouraged us to use: we made quite a few lemon cakes from the lemon trees that one can pick right off the porch. The house is easily accessible, it is a 10-minute drive to the charming town of Colares with a great supermarket (Atlantico has extremely friendly staff) and an awesome pastellaria (Do Moinho), which became a daily pilgrimage. Several beaches are a 15-20 minute drive, our favorite being Adraia with a great fish restaurant. What made this stay magical were the nights when the fog/clouds rolled in and enveloped the property. It was peaceful and quiet and we felt transported to a different world. Finally, our host Daniel was a delight. Very friendly and extremely responsive to even minor questions. This is a well cared for and loved property.

Villa in de bergen

Een heel verzorgde ruime villa met verfrissend zwembad. Ideaal als uitvalsbasis om nu eens strand te bezoeken en dan weer een fijne wandeling te maken. Alles was aanwezig in het huis, werkelijk niets tekort. Zelfs verse citroenen in de tuin. We hebben er als familie enorm van genoten. Je zit in de bergen dus mist is mogelijk.

Amazingly peaceful and blissful experience

This is a truly amazing property in one of the most picturesque and tranquil locations in Sintra area. Daniel is most welcoming host and pays great attention to the comfort and well-being of his guests. The property is built and maintained to the highest standard and has many unique pieces of furniture that were thoughtfully selected by the host to make one’s experience truly unforgettable. We were staying for New Year Eve and unlike many properties in the area this had heating (very good air conditioning system) and the warmest fireplace. I would anticipate that air conditioning would make the house as comfortable through the warm summer. Wholeheartedly recommend the property and host for an unforgettable experience in Sintra National Park. Especially if you like peace, solitude and hiking/biking. No better place. Some pieces of art may not be toddlers friendly.

Maravilhoso, recomendo!

É uma propriedade maravilhosa para quem procura sossego. Tem uma vista para Serra de Sintra incrível. A propriedade tem muito espaço exterior e é o ideal para descansar. Tem toda a privacidade. A casa é tal como mostra nas fotografias, espaçosa, bem decorada, muito confortável! Os responsáveis da propriedade deixam-nos à vontade para tudo o que for necessário. Adorámos e recomendo com toda a confiança!

Bella propiedad rodeada de naturaleza

Un lugar ideal para desconectar de la vida urbana. Se encuentra en un precioso entorno natural con magníficas vistas que te permiten disfrutar de la magia de Sintra . La zona es inmejorable: te permite pasear por el bosque, ir a la playa, visitar las maravillas de Sintra ( Castillo de Pena, Castillo de los Moros, Palacio de la Regaleira) y sus alrededores ( Cabo de Roca, Cascáis, Estoril). Todo queda cerca en coche. Hay varios pueblos a pocos kilómetros para hacer la compra y tomarte algo. La villa reúne todo lo necesario para hacerte sentir como en casa. La cocina es practica y está totalmente equipada , las habitaciones son amplias , luminosas y muy confortables, y el salón-comedor te permite relajarte en cómodos sofás . La limpieza predomina en todas las estancias. Toda la casa está decorada con mucho estilo combinando con buen gusto lo antiguo y lo moderno. La finca ofrece privacidad dadas sus dimensiones y no se oye ni se ve a ningún vecino. La zona de piscina dispone de hamacas , zona de barbacoa con mesa grande, sillas y parasol. La piscina te permite refrescarte en los momentos más calurosos del día. La propiedad cuenta con numerosos árboles frutales y con un huerto con gran variedad de hortalizas frescas para comer. El jardín y sus flores están perfectamente cuidados. La conexión a Internet es estupenda y la smart tv ofrece numerosos canales internacionales o posibilidad de usar Netflix, Rakuten, Amazon Prime,...para ver películas. Los dueños son amabilísimos y responden rápidamente a cualquier pregunta. Esta villa y su entorno te ayudan a conectar con la naturaleza, el sonido de los pájaros o del océano están presentes las 24 horas del día y la niebla te acompaña al amanecer y atardecer dándole al paisaje un ambiente mágico. Recomendable al 100 %.
