Thank you for sharing your experience. I am pleased that you appreciated the location of the apartment, its cleanliness, the quality of the bed linen, and the advice I gave you during your stay.
However, I was surprised to read some of your comments and would like to clarify a few points, as what was reported in the review does not correspond to what actually happened.
First of all, the contract was not nine pages long. The actual contract is approximately two and a half pages long. The documentation appeared longer simply because the contract was written in English and accompanied by a French translation. The remaining pages were separate documents: the privacy notice, the list of the apartment's furnishings and equipment, and the energy performance certificate.
Furthermore, you were never asked to sign the contract immediately upon arrival: what is stated in the review does not correspond to what actually happened. I left all the documentation with you, simply asking you to read it at your leisure and sign it before departure. When you were subsequently asked whether you had signed it, you replied that you had forgotten and that, in any case, you did not consider it necessary to do so, inviting me to sign it on your behalf if it was important to me. Obviously, I did not do so, because I believe that this would not be lawful.
I was also sorry to see your displeasure regarding compliance with Italian regulations, as though this were simply a “rule of mine”. During check-in, in fact, I noticed some of your concerns and comments about the documentation, exchanged between you in French and not addressed directly to me. This meant that I was not able to fully understand your observations and, above all, to provide you with the explanations I could have given you at the time.
As for the equipment and supplies, I would like to clarify that both the dish towel and the sponge were present in the apartment. In any event, none of the items you mentioned in your review, which according to you I should have provided in the apartment, was brought to my attention during your stay. Had you mentioned this to me, I could have checked the situation directly and, where possible, provided an explanation or taken action. Some of the items you mentioned, namely salt, pepper and oil, are not provided due to the way the accommodation is managed and in compliance with the applicable regional regulations.
I have always believed that, if there is something during a stay that is not satisfactory or is unclear, discussing it directly is the best way to allow the person managing the apartment to explain the situation and, whenever possible, resolve it.
I am therefore sorry that these aspects had such a significant impact on your overall rating, especially considering that, in all other respects, you expressed appreciation for the location, cleanliness and quality of the accommodation.
Thank you nonetheless for sharing your opinion.
