Burgled and minimal communication from host
We arrived at Monti Appartment and no one was present to check us in. We called the iFlat host and they arrived 10-15 minutes later. The flat is on a private road and is not accessible by car as there is scaffolding on a nearby building that prevented our taxi from passing. The privacy seemed to be a benefit but proved to be its downfall. As we waited about a half dozen people passed us, obviously noting that we were tourists. After the check-in by the iFlat agent, approximately two hours later we went to dinner. We returned about 1.5 hours after that to find that the lock on the apartment had been jimmied and the two footprints on the door were obvious indicators that the door had been kicked in. Someone had burgled our flat, rifling through our suitcases and stealing cash, jewelry, and Apple air pods. We immediately called the iFlat office and they seemed disinterested in helping us. After my wife pleaded for them to help, they did finally send a lock smith in to fix the door strike plate but the current mechanism remains so it would be easy to burgle this apartment again. We had to call the police ourselves as iFlat did not want to be bothered.
As to the flat itself, the furnishings are somewhat "tired". The main level is on the middle of three floors and there is only room to sit for two people unless you are eating at the small breakfast table. There is a limited set of dishes, maybe enough to make one meal if our family of 4 had chosen to eat there but there's no dishwasher and very little room to clean up so I wouldn't recommend this.
The location is convenient to a number of restaurants and gelaterias. However, the steps at the end of the road from the flat to the restaurants is littered with cigarettes and garbage.
