To say the house was extremely dirty is a total lie on your part. I was there & the house & outside were spotless. Cleanliness is one of the highest ratings I receive. Your husband disgustingly threw dozens of lit cigarette butts (no crushed ends) off the upper deck into the mulch & shrubs & all around the pool deck into my shrubs. The pool area only became dirty after your husband used it as an ashtray. He could have started a fire. The ashtray I provided you was there on the outdoor dining table. My cleaning lady said she smelled smoke in the house & found cigarettes in a paper cup in the bathroom. I caught him on camera coming into the house with a lit cig in his mouth carrying bags. There was melted plastic on the oven door interior & food dripped down into the drawer under the oven. Red nail polish on bedding. The grill had to be taken apart to be cleaned & the wood deck was stained with grease. A fly, mosquito or a spider might be found in the house which is set on a wooded lot. No lighting outside - another total lie. There are motion sensor lights in the upper & lower driveways, lights on the porch & stairs from the porch to the driveway, solar lights around the pool, & the driveway light triggers when you walk up & down the stairs to the pool. 3 couples stayed over that were not on the list. You refused to pay me the money you owed for the gas used to heat the pool in excess of the deposit I received. Your baby is 11 months old & does not walk.

I aporeciate that you left my home in perfect condition and it looked like you were almost not even there!

As we discussed, I do not believe my expectations on cleaning were "very excessive". Having a cleaning fee doesn't mean you can leave the house in that condition. I have been a host for over 20 years, and 99% of my guests have respect for my house and some even go above and beyond to leave the house looking like it needs just a light cleaning. I don't believe these things are excessive: 1) having to clean everything (kitchen appliances, pot covers, grilling tools etc) on the shelves on the kitchen island which were covered in some kind of sticky pink substance that somehow sprayed over everything and also the floor which had to be washed twice. Same substance was also found on the floor of the basement. 2) some other liquid with seeds all over the refrigerator grill, 3) a bar stool from the kitchen left out on the deck and silverware found on deck floor, 4) decks littered with plastic hookah pipes and other trash 5) black ashy substance found in 3 places on upper and lower decks along with burn marks, 6) leaking bags in the garage, where for just a 3 day rental there were 3 garbage pails filled as well as numerous leaking kitchen bags which filled an additional 4 very tall black garbage bags (the leaks were accidental however the amount of garbage was not - the 3 pails would have been sufficient for a normal rental, however your outside guests contributed to this enormous amount of trash). All of this is why I requested an additional $100 above the cleaning fee which I thank you for paying.

David, thank you for your nice review. Would definitely welcome you and your family back again. Yes, the bedrooms, while not directly opening into the living room, are off small hallways from the living room. I often ask my guests to lower the volume of both the TV and their voices if retiring early. White noise machines or phone apps definitely help - I used one when I had my extended family with little kids out this past June. LOL.
